Travel / Please I Need Your Meek And Candid Suggestion/advise On My Case. by ejikeben: 1:16am On Jul 19, 2011
It goes this way, I have a 2 year multiple visa to US, though visiting visa. I have always wanted to travel to US back in the school days before I got to know that the're many types of visa. To be honest with you, what I want is to reside in Us permanently and possible have my future children born in US.
My problem is how do I change my status knowing fully that with visiting visa finding a job would be almost impossible. I told a friend about it and he suggested I get myself enrolled in one of the schools as soon as I arrived US so as to get my visa renewed when it expires, though I thought of it and found Metropolitan community college Omaha, nebraska and the school authority has assured me of the change of status.
I was also told that I could change my status by marriage, but earnestly speaking I have a woman here in Nigeria whom I have proposed and would'nt want to disappoint and our marriage has been fixed for November 2011.

Please my fellow patriotic Nigerians what would you suggest or advice on this issue as related to legalizing my stay in US. Are there any possible means of getting papers other than marriage .
Your opinion and suggestion would be so much appreciated.
Travel / Re: In Need Of Advise Concerning Us Embassy “administrative Process” by ejikeben: 12:33am On Jul 19, 2011
@ Halfcurrent, Further administrative processing can occure irrespective of the number of time you have travelled abroad including US.It could be that you had a name hit in thier database in FBI,CIA or other security agencies. In a nutshell, consulting a solicitor or attorney is a waste of time and resources. I would advise you pray to God for quick response from the embassy. I had my visa interview in US embassy Abuja on 26th May 2010 and was only called on 18th of may 2011 for my visa which I have now.You can call Department of state to determine your case status as embassy may not respond to your calls or e-mails until your case is completed. If you would need more clarification on this feel free to alert me.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Problems Fresh Graduates Are Facing: Me I No Gbadun by ejikeben: 4:28pm On May 27, 2009
I can recall vividly last 2 years when i gave a testimony about my job offer with US Embassy as a fuel & water attendant despite my HND Upper credit in Mech. Eng., One swine almost cruxified me b/cos of that. Reasons best known to him, but today am betterof. If i had stayed at home waiting for Shell and others i would nt have accomplished what i have achieved today. Yes, as a fuel attendant i earn more than 1millon per annum as my basic salary.
My candid advice is that we should put the issue of HND/ Bsc aside and embrace any oppourtunity that comes ur way, afterall the inventor of HONDA motors was never a graduate.

When the desirable is not available the available becomes the desirable.

Jobs/Vacancies / Us Embassy Finally. by ejikeben: 4:50pm On Dec 11, 2007
I would not fail to express my unalloyed gratitute and happiness to the entire household of nairaland, particularly the person that pasted the advert from the US embassy in ABJ for the position of a fuel and water attendant.

I saw the advert on 7-9-07 while it was opened on 5-9-07 and closed on 18-9-07 and i applied on 11-09-07. Though i applied reluctantly, and behold i was called for for an interview in their office in Abuja and the interview held on 24-10-07.

Furthermore, i left Abuja on 25-10-07 for Enugu and got to my house @ 2.00pm and @ exactly 3.30pm that same day, i had a call from the human resourses office congratulating me that i was succesfull for the interview and that i have been scheduled for pre-employment medical examination which i had on 30-10-07.

Subsequently, i was also invited again for a security interview which was held on 8- 11-07. Nevertheless, i was told that my continued employment with them would be contigent upon the outcome of the medical and security clearances.

Considering the stresses and strain i undergone, i was finally called on 6-12-07 that i was succesful and should resume office immediately.

I would like to sincerely thank you all for your individual and collective efforts in this forum. And i also thank God who saw me through all my trips. May all glory ,majesty and adoration be His in Jesus name Amen.

If you are a graduate and have not gotten a job, i would advice you to embrace psalm 40 VS 1-5. For that God that saw me through will surely see everyone in this house 2ru @ His appointed time, just be patient.

Some may say why would a graduate with HND upper credit in Mech.Engr. take a job as a fuel and water attendant. But plz consider these,
1. Job security 2. No nepotism 3. No threat 4. Job immunity 5. 48 hours per a week starting 7.30am - 4.30pm Mondays 2ru Thursdays and 7.30 am - 1.30 pm on fridays, and finally 6. Starting basic allowance 83,000 naira per month.

God bless you as you rejoice with me.
