How was it terrible when u actually finished.

At early times of penticostal church services. Many church lasted for long hours_ un ending long hours. Many of us could remember those time when we use to sleep off during long Sunday service and how unnecessary long some of the testimony were back then_ hence the need for change.

Out with the long, boring services with testimonies the lenght of tv series_ and in with short precise_ time conscious service. Tombs up!

But as we often ask does "change" necessary translante to good or positive.
I would like to make my arguments against short services from two main angles. I.e_ the spirit and the sense.

At the level of the spirit, I believe that
One cannot subject the spirit to time.

I strongly believe that this Christianity we now so commonize and reduce practically to the level of the sense, is for the most part spiritual excercise. If then we agree on this, then we also should agree that whenever we come into his presence, we loose all sense of time. In other word's in God presence our sense is great ly reduce for his spirit to be completely dominant. If we are still conscious of time,then we "not in his presence" at list not yet.
Am not saying that services should be un_ending, am saying mortal man cannot subject Gods spirit to time. Testimonies for the most part back then were long and unnecessary but never the less they Were how testimonies should be. One cannot not hold a mic for a man who just receive sight or set a time limite for another who just took his first step after years of paralyses. This things I believe are best left solely to the man sharing his testimony.
In testimony is freedom, in test imony, the word is preached, in testimonies the spirit of others make connection unto receiving_ In testimony, devil is put to shame. Testimony, if truly said from the heart, has more power to change things than many words of preaching can. I believe the church is trying too hard to accommodate the world. Trying too hard to please, so as not to loose his followers. The spirit must stay in the lead however he choose. And we most learn to follow. Emphasis being on "learn"

At the level of the sense.( time)

Consider the today church this way. A man wants fruit juice_ he has two choice #1. Go to the market, get the nessary fruits, squeeze and make yourselves one. Or choice #2. Walk to a the super Market and pick an already made juice from the the shelve.

If the man that man goes for choice #2. He saves time._ but if he goes after choice #1. he loose time.

Let's build on this further. If the man goes after #1.,
He may loose time, but gains in the long run. Because the fruit extract from natural squeeze, will be far far more nurishing to him than any un natural produced out there. However if he settles for option #2,. While he may have gain time, he may also have lost the advantage of a proper nourishment.

All things 21century, is time considerate. whether we are conscious of it or not. The short church services seem to me tailored to give the people a taste of God than working to put God permanently on their inside. Just like the quick juice does trick the sense with fruit like taste, without actually nourishing it properly, so does this new kind of service offer the people a sense of God without giving them one.

People now find church easy and quick. Hence their many followership. Part the lines use to convince peoples sometimes is .".just come, before two hours church has closed"

The maga church's love it this way. Short quick packaged service. The people love it even so. Everyone is happy. Happy people aquals happy givers
I believe the people want less time in God presence and the church obliged

As it stand, the spiritual life of the people is inversely proportional to the growth of churches as this is clearly reflexcted in the the larger society.

the way I see it, is either we strive to let the spirit of God lead and stop doing every thing that please our sense or we can continues to witness reverse grow th , one in which the Christian of Pentecost are growing in size but not in content.

I love dogs. I got them as pets. They have become part of family members. Because of their intelligence and easy domestication, dogs are the animals closest to humans.

I respect your choice of meat. Do enjoy your meal, but kindly remove pictures of those part that show the dog being taken to your slaughter slab. It is disheartening. Almost like watching pictures of a human about to be slaughtered.
