Lagos to begin recruitment of 2,200 teachers on Friday
Lagos State Government on Wednesday said it is set to recruit over two thousand teachers into its primary and secondary schools.

The recruited teachers will be posted to government-owned primary and secondary schools across the 20 local governments and 37 local council development areas in the State.

“Lagos State Government is set to recruit 1,000 Teachers for Primary and 1,200 for Secondary Schools, visit from 12 a.m, Friday, 31st August, to 12 Midnight, Thursday, September 6, 2018,” Lagos government tweeted.

The state governor Akinwunmi Ambode had earlier announced the approval of recruiting the teachers at the last quarterly Town Hall meeting at Ibeju Lekki area of the State.


Ambode had promised that his administration would employ more teachers into public schools to meet up with the manpower required to cover all public schools in the State.


Also at the meeting, the Deputy Governor Idiat Adebule development stated that the recruitment will aid teaching and learning in the public schools.

She added that government owned schools has been attracting more enrollment in the last three years as a result of the improved infrastructure and welfare of teaching and non-teaching staff

The National Examinations Council (NECO) on Monday released the June/July 2018 Senior Secondary Schools Certificate Examination results.
As per an announcement signed by the acting Registrar of the Council, Abubakar Gana, 1,041,536 hopefuls sat for the examinations and just 742,455 of the competitors got no less than five credit passes including Mathematics and English Language.

Abubakar Gana said 20,181 applicants were engaged with examination malpractices, a figure not as much as that of 2017.

2018/2019 UNIMED PRE-DEGREE SCIENCE PROGRAMME (PDSP) APPLICATION



This is to inform all candidate who qualify for admission into the Pre-Degree Science Programme (PDSP) of the University of Medical Sciences, Ondo “UNIMED” for the 2018/2019 session, commencing in September, 2018. The Pre-Degree programme is full-time and will run for one (1) academic session of two (2) semesters between September, 2018 and July, 2019. It is an intensive programme aimed at preparing candidates for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Post UTME towards admission into the 100 level degree programme of UNIMED and other universities.



PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES


The Pre-Degree Program will cure the lacks persisted from optional schools keeping in mind the end goal to get ready hopefuls towards undertaking an effective college program. The program will likewise get ready understudies sufficiently for college instruction by expanding their self-assurance and advance viable learning capacity.




HOW THE PROGRAMMES WORK


The courses of study are the Universities Matriculation Examination (UME) subjects which include English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. An overall minimum score of 50% in the examinations and continuous assessment (comprising regular tests and assignments) is required to be qualified for consideration for admission into 100 Level of the relevant degree programmes of the University.



REQUIREMENTS

Candidates should possess five Credit passes in WASC, NECO or GCE at not more than two (2) sittings in relevant subjects of Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Candidates interested in MBBS and BDS programmes must have the required 5 credit passes at only one (1) sitting.
Candidates with awaiting results must obtain the 5 Credit passes in relevant subjects before completion of the Pre-Degree programme.
Eligible candidates shall be invited for a Qualifying Computer Based Test (CBT).


HOW TO APPLY

Prospective candidates are to visit the University website on www.unimed.edu.ng, click on admissions, Pre-Degree Progamme and duly follow the instruction to print the e-transact invoice.
Pay an application fee of Fifteen thousand naira (N15,000.00) excluding bank charges on e-transact in any bank on the e-transact platform.
Upon confirmation of payment, candidates are to complete and print the Pre-Degree Science Programme (PDSP) Application Form online after payment by logging on to www.unimed.edu.ng and click on the online PDSP Registration Portal.
Submit the Online application form and print out a copy of the Examination Schedule slip.

The Admission into the JUPEP – 2018/2019 previously scheduled to be conducted on 8TH of SEPTEMBER, 2018 by 9 am has been rescheduled to be conducted on 1st of September, 2018 by 9 am at Ugbowo Campus.


DURATION OF PROGRAMME
The duration of the study is a minimum of one Academic Session
of TWO SEMESTERS. It is strictly non-residential programme.
