^^ You wish
@ topic. Comparing Lagos and one creek in Niger Delta is hilarious. Match all the states involved together, plus the landlocked ones across the Niger bridge they still can't match the potentials Lagos has. Ranting online with false info to feel good is not going to make any difference about the actual fact on ground. |

Ain't that better than terrorism like those Northern Youth are doing, Kidnapping like the Eastern Youth and Militancy for our Southern Youth. Choose one, it's all yours. Lagos is Indeed the state where the nation's untapped potentials lie |

Politics › Much Of Lagos Potentials Yet To Be Realised – Fashola by EkoAtlantic2(op): 12:05am On Mar 08, 2013 |
Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola on Wednesday sought the support of the public towards realisation of a better future for Lagos, saying much of the potentials of the state had not been realised.
He spoke at the launch of a book titled, ‘Lagos: A Cultural and Historical Companion’, authored by Kaye Whiteman, a freelance writer and specialist on African affairs, who also once served as editor of West Africa Magazine.
The governor said there is so much potential that lies ahead of the Lagos of tomorrow which would be better than the Lagos of yesterday.
“I have always asked myself what Lagos we would take, is it a Lagos of yesterday or the Lagos of today or indeed possibly tomorrow’s Lagos? I would reach for tomorrow’s Lagos and I think we should all work for tomorrow’s Lagos because I think there is so much that lies ahead of tomorrow’s Lagos and is much better than yesterday’s Lagos”.
Fashola said since he got introduced to the author and has been following his writings on the pages of the BusinessDay newspapers, the comments of the author Kaye about Lagos and Nigeria has continued to inspire him to dig deeper and push the possibilities that the Lagos city state highlights.
He added that for a lot of people their expectation of a city state is sometimes unclear, adding that a look at the economy of the state would show that it is one of the best kept secrets that those who find it don’t always want to disclose what lies in it.
“Whilst many complain, they continue to make returns, tapping its energy and unleashing their own entrepreneurial skills. This is the place where perhaps the Nigerian dream is best expressed. This is where all our possibilities lie. Everything is possible in Lagos”.
In his address, the vice chairman and trustee of the African Centre, Bimpe Nkontchou, said under the Fashola administration, Lagos is evolving into a world mega city state. She said the African Centre is proud to relate with the Lagos State government and salutes Lagos State and the governor for making the centre proud with its giant strides.
Frank Aigbogun, publisher/CEO of Business Day, in a goodwill message, described Kaye Whiteman as a foreigner who loves Nigeria but whose love is not tied to his practice of journalism.
Aigbogun said that the author is one man who writes with affection about Nigeria and knows Nigeria and Lagos more than many Nigerians do, adding that he is one of the best friends of the country.
In his remarks at the ceremony, the author, Kaye Whiteman, acknowledged the role played by the Lagos State governor in transforming the state, adding that he saw a marked improvement in infrastructure when he went round compared to what it was when he last visited. http://www.businessdayonline.com/NG/index.php/news/latest/52724-much-of-lagos-potentials-yet-to-be-realised--fashola
