Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Man Meets His Boss At Job Interview He Attended After Taking A Sick Leave by Eldersege(m): 8:38am On Feb 26, 2018
It all comes down to how important you are in your place of work. If you are a real asset, even if your boss is across that table, doing the interview, to him, all his questions will be centered on how to ensure you are not employed there and how to know what will make you comfortable in his establishment.

Jobs may be scarce in Nigeria, but the right personel is extremely scarce too.

Be that right personel.

Politics / Re: Interpol Recommends EFCC As Africa’s Model In Anti-corruption War by Eldersege(m): 1:09pm On Feb 10, 2018
rxmusa:
Sai Baba is working! He has been projecting Nigeria in good image since his assumption of office.

STATE OF THE NATION

I have been following closely the activities of this government and whenever I have the opportunity, I try to find out the opinions of people as regards the performance of this government.

I just realized that the hardship faced by many Nigerians is simply as a result of the fact that almost everyone of us benefited from the cycle of corruption.

The bricklayer, plumber, laborers, tiler are all complaining because building construction has slowed down massively cause the thieves no longer have money to spend on real estate.

The car dealers are grumbling because their cars are begging for buyers. Thieves can no longer spend wastefully.

The private school owners are shouting because parents can no longer pay outrageous sums and are withdrawing their wards.

I was shocked when I learn that in a popular private University in Abuja, parents are writing undertaking at the account section for their children to be allowed to write exams... and it goes on and on.

The fact is, a lot of people are returning to what someone referred to as ''default mode''.

We mostly have been living above our REAL MEANS.

We have been staying in houses that ordinarily our incomes can't afford.

Our children going to schools we can't afford. Driving cars we ordinarily can't maintain.

We have been living a FAKE LIFE all along. Now the reality is before us and we don't want to accept it.

This shows how morally bankrupt we are.

You can't eat your Cake and have it. Take Note..."GOD HELP AND BLESS NIGERIA"

You got billions from bank without collateral using your political influence. You put half into your business and spent the other half on exotic cars, jeweleries, etc.

Your business employs 100 people normally. You get illegal waivers and concessions to import raw materials at rock bottom prices, you get over-inflated contract to supply government some goods your company produce....in short your company is kept afloat by corruption.

Now the new SHERIFF in town says:

no more ridiculous waivers,
no more inflated contracts, no more bank loans without collateral, in fact its time you or your company pay off the billions of debt owed.....

AMCON takes over your company, staff are laid off......And you go on air and say the new sheriff is killing business and causing unemployment..

The truth is....you and your company were never in business, you were only feeding off the system.

Too many companies and banks are funded by corruption. Remove corruption from the system and they collapse.......and we end up blaming the person that removes corruption for the collapse of the corruptly run fake company.

Its like our system and corruption are so interwoven and inseparable that removing one will kill the other.

Maybe we should tolerate and learn to live with corruption so that Nigeria can survive?

Recession: What recession? If you think Nigeria is broke, then you are living in another planet. Now, please read the information below and tell me why Nigerians crying of hardship are comfortable with the bold looting of their collective wealth by the politicians.

Politics / Re: No Evidence Yet To Sanction Fuel Marketers For Hoarding - Kachikwu by Eldersege(m): 11:14am On Jan 03, 2018
Why are we worrying ourself. Read the extract from the post. No hoarding, no slow distribution, just a clear cut business restrain due to danger of losses by Oil Marketers which to me is reasonable as far as business is concerned.

"Abiodun stated that in the past, marketers were bringing in about 60 per cent, while the NNPC was bringing in between 35 per cent and 40 per cent.

But by October last year, the marketer had stopped importing fuel because there was no more subsidy on petrol, stressing that the situation made the burden of importing 100 per cent to fall on the NNPC."

My concern is:
How can we manage 35-40%?
Why are all our governments afraid of FULL deregulation?
Are Nigerias really ready for FULL deregulation?

What can we suggest, knowing the above reality?

Nigeria is gradually becoming a hub of creative designs and promotional items.

Government, Coporate organisations, churches and individuals now look for creative ways they can get their goods and services out there to attrack patronage or members.

This trend is created to exchange ideas on:
1. Effective and quick computer graphics designs
2. Large format printing (SAV, Flex, Window Graphix, Flag etc)
3. Book publishing and printing (Magazine, Religious books, moticational books, text book and exercise Books).
4. Shirt making and branding etc.

With over 15years experience, I will be willing to answer questions and offer my service on the above listed areas.

Politics / Re: Innoson Vs GTB: How Does A Private Commercial Matter Becomes EFCC Case? - Saraki by Eldersege(m): 12:38pm On Dec 21, 2017
DeLaRue:

You keep conveniently ignoring the allegations against the man and his company, ie., that he:

1. obtained a loan under false pretence
2. used forged documents to clear goods from the ports, thereby bypassing the original documents which the company lodged with GTB as security for securing the loan with which the goods were imported.

These allegations are of a crimination nature and thus come within the competence of EFCC or the Police.

Based on what we have read, EFCC's involvement relates (and rightly so) to these criminal allegations, and not the other disputes concerning excessive deductions from the Company's accounts.

I love Innosin for his creative work. He is a blessing and encouragement to the theme youth of this nation on possibility, but I am surprised to read this truth about the case.

This is the part where many sentimental people don't want to mention about this case.

We all know that ALL the banks in Nigeria are not an ideal place to take project loans, Interest is always too high. I guess this is why Innossin chose to follow some mischievous adviser to outsmart GTB. The consequence is what we see now. Thank God he is not a politician, after this saga, his good business still continues, but he has learnt a lesson.

It's a lesson for us all, Yoruba, Igbos, Huasas etc. Be cautions when you approach the banks for loans, there are hidden charges.

@ Topic: The EFCC can investigate any transaction as long as it bothers on fraud irrespective of whether it's a private matter or government/institutional one. In fact, the company where I worked before has taken a case to EFCC before and this was a case between an individual and the Company.

Saraki should know better!!

@desgiezd God bless you for sharing your company's experience. The story may not necessary originate from Senate proceedings. There are so many mischievous writers in this Nation. unfortunately, many of us fall into there mischief because of out tribal or religious sentiment or because of complete ignorance.

EFCC can handle any case of fraud and Saraki and Senate knows that.

Bros, you can't just conclud like that o except your reason for bringing the stuff if just to ship your money back home.

My point is, if you bring cream, shoes, jewelries etc how sure are you that you will make profit on it? Everything sell in Nigeria but not everything brings profit/gain.

You may want to consider what gives you profit on investment with little or no assuls.

God bless you.

I don't see any news saying Buhari is chasing after Jonathan except of curse the Senate may ask GEJ to show up over Malabu contract. That's not Buhari.

If the writer is genuine, what gave them that impression?

However, no one is above the law. Whatever any government has to prosicute any past leader, they should go please ahead but they too should be ready to be prosecuted when it comes to the turn of others too. They should therefore not be discouraged for our sake.

It will be unwise to conclude that government does not have the capacity to prosecute curropt leaders and focus on economy at the same time. It's as good as saying, Buhari should disband all security apparatus and focus on economy alone. That will be foolishness of the highest order.

So called Arewa.... what are you saying again?

He took 3 months to appoint his Chief of Staff , 6 months to appoint a cabinet and now 23 months and yet counting to appoint heads of agencies and board members he was so eager to fire upon his assumption into office and rose import duties on the most basic of commodities in a bid to raise government revenue.Talk was cheap then but now reality has taken its course. His earliest opponents pointed out to his track record and not to his speech, noting that the last time Nigeria fell into dismal failure, currency woes and commodity shortages was when he had seized power as a military general in 1983 and stating that the facts of that record contradicted the poems of his image brokers.
Many however just wanted “change” as it was then called and so voted the General and sat to wait for the sung promises. But from the onset of his government, the course was as his critics had predefined: Incompetency, bigotry and dictatorial tendencies plaguing the country.

I love your rhyme, your use of words. It's poetic. Though I defer in ideology. All the same, tomb up for you.

Will the banks wait for debtors to ever show up.

They should keep the interest and get their staff to go look for next of kins.

You are right but they never do that. The reason for next of kin for bank is only when they want to recover debts.

With all due respect, if this bill scale through, it will be a plus to our economy rather than for those bank owners. Imaging if your grandparent dies and leave billions of dollars in his account, it will be near impossible for you to access it. If you can concluded the papers, fine, it means it's not under this category. No matter how small or big this amount is, Banks won't give you access to it. Banks have been robbing the dead since, so, why can't this fund be redistrubed to create jobs through infrastructural development.
We must face reality here, this government is broke and will seek every legitimate means to raise funds.
God bless Nigeria.

I think corruption has affected many people's mind such that they can not simply believe things can get better. That's to show they are not capable of doing things the right way when they have the opportunity because they will always complain their hands are tied by someone or something.

That's the power of vision. You should develop a better vision for Nija too.

Change or not, department of geography can never be under faculty of art. It is science. At most under social sciences which should still be questioned.

Sahara will win the case because the issue with this case is not whether the shameful senator went to school or not. The issue is, he was never legitimately admitted to the school so how could he have legitimately graduated?

He probably forged the WAEC result to get is admition and got to NYSC with another forged letter.

By the way, P8 in a major subject? Which school accept that? Definitely not ABU. Check his WAEC result, he should have gone for Agric instead not geography or so.
