Other banks, e.g sparkasse and commerzbank, offer blocked account services. DB offers its services in English, their accounts are easier to run, maybe that's why the embassy leans towards them. Also, you only have one account. With sparkasse and commerzbank, you have to open a girokonto(like a current account) and a sparkonto(savings account) and transfer funds between them. This can be done online with commerzbank but you have to physically go to the bank to withdraw from your sparkasse. A pain when you're not present in the city where your account is domiciled. Students don't have to pay with DB unless you're above 30. It's 25 yrs for sparkasse

A good development. Deutsch Banks monopoly is quite annoying. A friend who just arrived went through a different means after Deutsche Bank reared their ugly head. He got a referral from a Prof to open an account and it was accepted by the embassy. It saved one the stress of travelling miles and risking one's life just to open an account.
I'm surprised other German banks have not keyed into this opportunity.

@justwise Hi, I am thinking of applying for a 2-year Uk visa sometime next year. The problem I'm having is that my passport expires in 2018 I.e the validity of my passport will be less than the duration of the visa I want to apply for. Will that be an issue?

Just finished my 16 minutes long interview with Oulu. I was interviewed by two PhD students and one MSc student. The questions towed the line of what have been posted here. Hoping for the best.

I be unilag alumnus. Pay money into unilag account, fill the TRANSCRIPT REQUEST form. Scan ur payment teller n d form and send to dem. U'll get it done. Start early o to avoid delay. If u need it in September, start now. It takes forever if it's d first time; Like 2 to 8 months sha. Google unilag transcript, u'll see a longer explanation.

I once had dt issue,but they didn't tell me not to resend my transcript. And I even have another guy dat they told him to send his transcript b4 6th of march. Don't know abt this one,but my advice is dt,u shld go bck to ur school ask for official envelop,no plain white,with ur school logo on it. Den reapply and send it.

Did they send you the mail about having processed all your documents before or after your resent transcript got there?

I think there must be something wrong with the people at UAF. First, it was that my transcript wasn't stamped and now it is that the envelope might have been tampered with. They also said that I cannot send another one again. Does anybody know what can be done?

i think UAF processed your application without the transcipt, so its left for the school to decide.

Will they send the application documents to the school without the transcript?

UAF is really taking the stamp across the flap of your transcript envelope seriously. Other schools accepted my transcripts sent by UNILAG

Use a notary Public close to a high court. Ask anybody around there to direct you to one.

documents were sent on 08/12/14 & 22/11/14. Checked this morning. No update on Nipost's site but there's an update on posti's (Finnish version of Nipost). Documents arrived 19/01/15

Are there schools with a track record of admitting students with low cgpa's. Do you know anybody that has been admitted with a third or second class lower? No vex say my question plenty.
