Celebrities / Burna Boy Makes History With Afrobeats Performance Featuring Brandy & 21 Savage by Elexim: 3:45pm On Feb 05
Nigerian sensation Burna Boy stole the spotlight at the 2024 Grammy Awards held at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, making history as the first-ever Afrobeats artist to grace the prestigious event.

Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. introduced Burna Boy, praising the “superstar from Nigeria.” Burna Boy’s performance began with the energetic “On Form,” transitioning seamlessly into “City Boys” alongside his crew. The highlight came as he escorted 12-time Grammy nominee Brandy to the main stage for a rendition of “Sittin’ on Top of the World.” The track, featuring 11-time Grammy nominee 21 Savage, marked a groundbreaking moment for Afrobeats on the Grammy stage.

Released on June 1, 2023, “Sittin’ on Top of the World” served as the lead single from Burna Boy’s seventh studio album, “I Told Them…”. The performance, which paid homage to Brandy’s 1998 hit “Top of the World,” showcased the fusion of musical talents. Burna Boy received four Grammy nominations, making history as the first recipient of the newly introduced “Best African Music Performance,” won by Tyla for “Water.”

This performance marked Burna Boy’s return to the Grammys after winning his first award in 2021 for “Best Global Music Album” with “Twice as Tall.”

In a separate Grammy milestone, Burna Boy, Brandy, and 21 Savage’s collaboration made history at the ceremony, emphasizing the global influence and diversity celebrated in the world of music.

Good.. Its only in Africa and Nigeria that they treat and disgrace labour anyhow.. Whereas organized labour is more powerful than a countries' government in the perk of power.. They last thing any government in the west will want in their territory is an organized labour movement against them, but in Nigeria the case is different.. If they do anyhow labour should shut down banks too..
