Omooba Advocates Use Of Yoruba Language At Osun Assembly Floor

A Yoruba culture activist, Akanni Omooba, has voiced his fervent appeal to the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Adewale Egbedun, urging the adoption of Yoruba as the official language of communication within the parliamentary proceedings.

Akanni Omooba, a youth development advocate and prince of Osogbo believes that embracing the Yoruba language in such a manner would not only preserve the cultural heritage of the state but also foster better understanding and representation among the people.

Yoruba, one of Nigeria’s major languages, according to Akanni Omooba boasts a rich history and a large number of native speakers within Osun State. The language holds significant cultural and historical value for the people of Osun, playing a pivotal role in shaping their identity and traditions.

He said, by adopting Yoruba as the language of communication in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Adewale Egbedun has the opportunity to demonstrate his commitment to the cultural preservation and advancement of the Yoruba people.

Akanni Omooba, a passionate advocate for Yoruba language and culture, emphasizes the numerous benefits that such a decision would bring.

“By using Yoruba as the language of communication, the parliament would create a more inclusive and accessible environment for all citizens, bridging the gap between the lawmakers and the people they represent. This linguistic transformation would enable a more direct and effective means of communication, resulting in better governance and the active participation of the public in the democratic process.

“Furthermore, the adoption of Yoruba as the official language would enhance civic education and awareness among the citizens of Osun State. It would foster a sense of pride and cultural unity, reinforcing the connection between the government and its constituents. By embracing the language of the people, Hon. Adewale Egbedun would strengthen the bond between the lawmakers and the Yoruba community, creating an environment that celebrates diversity while honoring the historical legacy of the state.

Akanni Omooba applauded the newly constituted Osun State House of Assembly for its commitment to promoting the cultural heritage of the Yoruba people and urged the honorable Speaker to champion this cause.

“The adoption of Yoruba as the language of communication within the parliamentary proceedings will be a significant step toward cultural preservation, inclusivity, and effective governance. It is a progressive move that will inspire other states in Nigeria to recognize and celebrate their native languages, contributing to the overall growth and development of the nation.”

Romance / Re: I Think My Girlfriend Is Fetish by ElionAdebayo(m): 11:14am On Mar 03, 2022
She's an Ogbanje.

Breaking up with her is the only solution, it's either you run from her or wait till she's tired of you and move to another man. Only then can you regain yourself from her grips.

The funniest part is that she is not the one using you, she's just a messenger being used by the marine kingdom.

Politics / Osun APC Post-primary - Aregbesola, Adeoti, And Others To Move Out Of APC by ElionAdebayo(m): 7:36am On Feb 18, 2022
There are strong pointer that the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, and his candidate in the forthcoming Osun gubernatorial election, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti may lead members loyal to the TOP caucus out of the APC if Adeoti loses out in the primary election

Aregbesola who is the immediate past governor of the state had over the week drawn a battle line between himself, his erstwhile boss, APC national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and the current governor, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola, Aregbesola had stated betrayal, conflict of interest among other allegations as the reason behind his outbursts and why he won't be supporting Governor Oyetola's second term bid and he has vowed to unseat the incumbent governor while declaring his endorsement of a former Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mr. Moshood Adeoti as his choice of candidate to replace the present Governor

The party's primary is slated for this weekend, what is apparent is that the incumbent governor has the nod of the majority of the party's stakeholders in the state, including the party's national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, he appears to have the support of his party members and also in control of the party's structure in the state

Even though the Minister's destination has not been ascertained, it's expected that the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola and his anointed candidate would lead their supporters and members of The Osun Progressive (TOP) out of the party if their camp loses to the incumbent governor at the primary.

It may be of interest to recount that this would be the second time Mr. Moshood Adeoti would be contending with Gboyega Oyetola. Mr. Adeoti had also left the party in 2018 after losing to Mr. Gboyega Oyetola at the primary that produced Gboyega Oyetola as the APC gubernatorial candidate and later saw to Oyetola emerging as the governor of Osun state.

Mr. Adeoti had in 2018 stated Ill treatment from his boss, Ogbeni Aregbesola who was the then governor of Osun state as the reason for decamping from the APC to ADP where he contested his ambition and lost to Oyetola at the poll.

Is this an history about to repeat itself or is Aregbesola about to make a loud statement and proclaim himself as the godfather of OsunAPC, to beat Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, baba Akande and others hands down?
