Bell finally rolled on sweet grandmother yesterday morning, 3 months shy of her 103rd birthday. Though her senior brother was always adamant she was born in 1922 and not 1923 as she claimed, so she may have been 103 already. A great innings for a great woman who spent 60 years of her life adopting and training dozens of children beside her own from her 30s and well into her 90s.
