Well historically the party that wins the presidency loses the midterms and next year's midterms is looking to follow the same trend. However, the infighting currently going on in MAGA world isn't helping at all. This is where the loss of Charlie Kirk really hurts the conservative movement. Aside Trump, he's that major force with the ability to bring these different factions together and persuade them to a common cause despite their differences but now that he's no more, they're tearing themselves apart with Candace Owens and Tucker Carlson being the chief culprits.

Also worthy of note, Trump is not on the ballot, so many people who voted for him won't be bothered as much and then you have GOP voters who are low propensity voters during midterms. I think Trump sees the danger that's why he's started doing political tours and rally speeches again. He really doesn't want to be a lame duck or get impeached again.
