If I understand what you're saying the money hasn't gone missing nah. BSC is just BNB used for the smart contract transactions and is still the same with BNB. K my that the former is used for gas fees. Although they have different addresses.

You should be able to swap the BSC to BNB with trustwallet's swap feature or PancakeSwap supposing you have some BSC for fees.
Send a screenshot of the BSC let's see what the problem is.

I usually send BNB from Binance directly to BSC address in trust wallet, it has always worked for me.

U can actually send BNB to BNB smart chain u know & it works...just that a minimum of 0.15 BNB is necessary I think
