I'll keep observing. I didn't enter when it's mentioned here as I didn't have idle funds to risk (My risk appetite is between moderate to conservative, for now.)

But I am sure another buying window will come soon, hopefully.

(I have learnt from here not chase a moving bus)

Like Buafoods, like Buacement?

Forbes ranking? cool cool

It seems there's a correlation between their prices and Forbes ranking..

OakPearl:
While the rebasing and economy debate is raging, don’t get carried away and miss out on the fact that an opportunity has been presented in Bua cement.
If you believe in Bua’s future growth and prospects, take a long term position now at the N88.50 it is selling now.
If you are not sure because the previous numbers are not convincing, stand by the sidelines until you see reasons to.
Happy investing.

Alright then. I appreciate your response.

GeeKudi:
It's currently trading at a range. You may want to target a price close to the lower end of the range.

What you will consider as a good target entry price?
GeeKudi:
Apparently targeting the release of their Audited FY24 report with dividend declaration anticipated.

He even does a comprehensive weekly Bulls and Bears Markets summary on Twitter too. People like him is one of the reasons someone like me is back on NGX.

I know the writer is codedly active here sha... Judging from the occasional snippets he drops...

Dear sir,

Your views and opinions are valid and valued.

However, this particular thread is not the appropriate platform for such discussions.

You can explore the politics section of Nairaland or even open your own thread for such discussions. You can even name it as 'Economic , of PBAT policies: Oando & NGX as a case study.'

Some of us will be happy to come follow up the discussions there.

As previously advised by others, I trust you'll consider this a kind nudge to do the right thing.

Signed,

Concerned NSEMPA Follower.

Please just say that you pray and hope he will win.

No need to tell me that I pray and hope in vain because that means you are cursing my prayer! This may lead to reactions and counter reactions.
Some of you guys don't understand how to debate in a public forum, hence you make debates to degenerate unnecessarily! .

Is there a way one can buy any of these indexes directly?
I see them on itrade but can't see the buy/sell option except their prices & other parameters.
Or is there any mutual index funds that mirrors these indexes like the NGX30?

I am familiar with Stanbic Equity Fund and other FMAN funds but i am not aware of any fund that tracks NGXINS or NGX Oil & Gas.

Anyone with relevant information can share it here. Thanks

TerraCota:
Thanks for sharing this, explains the price action of some companies the past several days/weeks; a lot of selling/buying of the companies exiting/entering the indices (Dangote Cement and Aradel as examples).

The rebalancing should be done once a year and not twice a year.

Biggest winner is Aradel Holdings Plc, new member of several indices!

Other winners:
IB now member of NGX 30 Index (slowly IB is coming out of the woods and moving up).
Transcorp Power Plc added to few indices
Oando Plc added to NGX Oil and Gas Index (I guess almost ready for prime time)

Dangote Cement removed from Afrinvest Dividend Yield Indexhuh

Total Nigeria Plc removed from NGX 30 Indexhuh I wonder why.

Not published were the criteria for exit/entry......it will be very interesting to know.

Meristem Equity Research Report webpage has no new reports from the trading activities so far this year. The most recent report is from around December 2024. I have found it along with Cardinal's MEP reports and Morgan's Weekly Stock recommendation great resources for a newbie like me. These along with the commentary from have been very useful resources.
Thanks to everyone sharing insights and knowledge here freely, you are all appreciated.

I am currently studying how to interprete company reports, charts, valuations and related matters so as to be able to do the modelling as well as buy/sell/hold calls myself in the shortest time possible.
