Politics / Re: Video Of Fulanis Caught And Killed In Igangan Today During Counter Attack by emailabbey: 8:30am On Jun 07, 2021
These Yoruba youths should learn. They shouldn't be doing video of whatever they are doing. The Fulanis herdsmen will never share video of their evil acts. So, others too should stop posting video of their revenge.

Education / Alleged Molestation Of Chrisland Pupil by emailabbey: 4:16pm On Feb 14, 2018
For every coin, there are always 2 sides. To all the fake news carrier who do not verify news before spreading it like wild fire. This is the schools's side of the story while complying with the rule of law.

[b]Dear Parents,

RE: ALLEGED MOLESTATION OF CHRISLAND PUPIL.

We write this with every sense of responsibility because it is imperative to explain the real situation concerning the above. In our over forty years of existence, Chrisland has never been involved in any scandal or any situation that can tarnish the reputation we have built over four decades. Ours is an organisation with zero- tolerance to any abuse in whatever form, and we have put in place structures and policies to ensure child protection in all our schools. As stakeholders you deserve to know the true picture, therefore permit us to state the following:

1. This case has been on since November 2016, and was alleged to have taken place in VGC and not Lekki as being circulated.

2. It all started when a mother alleged that her daughter was molested, and we were baffled that a mother could keep quiet and not notify the school or report for two weeks. We also wondered why she left the child in school for a month, if indeed she was molested in the same school.

3. We immediately set up a committee to investigate the allegation and also reported the matter at Ajah Police Station.

4. While we doubt that nothing of such could have happened within our premises (considering our safety measures and structures), we gave our word of assurance to leave no stone unturned and cooperate with the police and all agencies involved to get truth and justice. We also vowed to prosecute the accused, if found guilty. As a law –abiding organisation which believes so much in the judiciary, we have not interfered in anyway.

5. The Lagos State Quality Assurance officers visited the school twice, interviewed many people including parents, staff and pupils and conducted an extensive investigation but nothing was found.

6. We issued a release in November 2016, which was published in the national dailies, stating our side of the story. The accused was remanded in prison for some weeks before he secured a bail.

7. This issue erupted and took a fierce dimension, when the journalists who witnessed the court sitting last week, in solidarity with the plaintiff who is a blogger, started writing malicious stories (which are not the true picture of the court proceedings) being circulated online.

8. At the court proceedings, journalists were warned to be mindful of their stories since the matter is still in court, and is still an allegation until the accused is found guilty, but they have continued with reckless abandon. This shows clearly that there is more to this case than meets the eye.

9. We believe there is a conspiracy against the Chrisland brand and this is nothing but paid journalism. We pray that the good Lord will vindicate us. Please be assured that your children are in safe hands; we have successfully built a solid reputation over the last forty years and we continue to stand for excellence.

Thank you.

[b]ADEGBOYEGA ADENEKAN: BETWEEN PROFESSIONALISM AND SENSATIONALISM: HOW DO WE GET JUSTICE FOR THE CHILD AND SOCIETY AT LARGE?
 February 14, 2018  Taiwo Akinlami

I have followed with keen interest since its inception the accusations levied against the above-named teacher and I think I owe my conscience, the precious African Child and the society at large a very urgent duty to share my professional view on same.

That our precious children are under the siege of child sexual abuse today like never before is visible to the blind and audible to the deaf.

That I have spent the last 2 decades of my life defending the rights and protection of our precious children, even when it was not popular to do so speaks for itself for those who have followed my work.

That all hands of every men and women of conscience must tirelessly be at work to prevent and protect our precious children, must become a noble anthem in our daily existence must not be ignored for another second.

I am for the precious African child till the end of my day, but more importantly, I am for JUSTICE…The purpose of Justice is to create a just society for all…It is my honest opinion that it is only in a just society that the rights of our precious children can find expression. It is therefore my submission that anyone who is for the interest of the child must first be for justice…

I have read reports that have been circulating the picture of the accused as a rapist. I do not think it is right. Under our criminal justice system, an accused before the court is considered innocent until proven guilty and convicted by a court of competent jurisdiction…I think hastily going ahead to convict a man, who is still standing trial before a court of Justice in the court of Social Media is to say that least unjust, unprofessional and sensational.

I do not think this helps the cause of the child for protection in any way… While I believe in Naming and Shaming, I do not believe or accept a kangaroo approach to same. Since we have not been constituted as a court, we can only name and shame a person, who has been convicted by the court.

This approach of taking the laws into our hands because we have access to the Social Media destroys the fabrics of our society and fan the dangerous ember of disorder and chaos…It is not in anyway a good example to our precious children.

Though, I lost my virginity and the essence of my sexuality and innocence at the tender age of 6 and was thereafter thoroughly messed up, God has helped me not to harbour anger and hatred against my abuser and my caregivers, who created the loophole. They were also victims, who need help.

While I agree that abusers must face the full wrath of the law and salute the noble efforts of the Lagos State Government in leading a revolution in this area, it is my well considered opinion that the ultimate solution to the protection of our precious children from all forms of abuse does not ONLY lie in the hand of the justice system.

By the time we are approaching the justice system, a child is already abused. I do not think there is any punishment meted to a convicted abuser that can bring spiritual, physical, emotional and medical remedy to the child…Why? A child is not created for any form of abuse…

Therefore he/she must be protected by every means necessary from all forms of abuse.

That is why I have been interested in the principle that ENLIGHTENMENT is Superior to ENFORCEMENT™. Enlightenment requires an holistic approach to solving the problem of child abuse like every other social problem…I have taken time to share my views on the foregoing and I will skip it as discussion for another day.

I think I should rest my case here as I call for a higher level of activism and maturity in our representation of the best interest of the child. We don’t need SENSATIONALISM to make the case for the protection of our precious children. We only need GOOD CONSCIENCE, CONSISTENCY, the RIGHT NARRATIVE and STRATEGY and BEST and GLOBALLY COMPLIANT PRACTICES.

Please, if you believe in this message I urge you to share. Thank you and do have an INSPIRED day.

The Nigerian Police Force really need to be neutral in political situations, they should stop being partisan and it is so obvious. As for the Presidency, it is so unfortunate that the oppositions are scoring cheap political points because of the way issues are handled which only points at one thing, despiracy of the president to clinch on to power!

Celebrities / Re: KWAM1 Celebrates The Birth Of His 38th Child In America! by emailabbey: 3:07pm On Mar 30, 2013
Most of all these so called celebrities, big boys and big girls are bunch of irresponsible people! I've attended a party that has the trio of Kwam1, Gbenga Islander and Kemi in attendance when the going was good. Who knows may be that was when Kwam1 was toating her. Lesson to be learnt, don't take your wife to these people's show or else she will end up being their mistress. Gbenga was splashing money on Kwam1 without knowing that he wasn't interested in his money but his mistress. Thank your God she's just your girlifriend and not your real wifem grin
