Hey guys! So I wanted to find out about this. I'll go straight into details. About January last year, a 'friend' who claims to be a successful crypto trader came to me and talked me into investing with him and that he'll teach me all about crypto. I had to sell my only laptop then (60k) and then transferred the money to him so we can get started. Fast forward to some weeks later and he said that Binance was hacked and he lost over 7m naira (including his money and others' like me too). He was detained and he claimed that he had to pay people at least 70% of their money's worth. He didn't pay me a dime because he claimed that we're friends and he would always settle me. I tried to forget this as I moved on and started making money with my skill. Then, this lockdown period, he reached out to me again with claims that he's no longer into crypto and now does forex and he's back up and recovered some of his money and would love to help me. More like he'd want to help me become like him too and give me "what his money could not pay for", which was his way of saying thank you to me for not requesting for the money he owes me. Then he says there's a software to buy but it costs about 25k upwards and we'll need that. I told him straight up that I'm not spending any money on anything. And he says he'll help me buy it but I should pay whatever I have. I sent him 5k. Then he said the platform was closed down because of COVID-19 and I'm beginning to feel very furious at him this time. I was wondering why it was after I paid him that that happened and the sort. So I just decided that this guy may have the traits of a scam. I have quieted this thought because I just wanted to give him the benefit of doubt as a friend who we knew each other when we were in 100 level. But it was becoming quite too obvious to ignore now. I looked up my bank transaction history and found the debit alert of 60k since Jan 2019. And I have the one for this 5k also. I made threats to him now that I want him to pay back all my money (65k). He has postponed me twice now. And this morning, he says there's nothing I can do and openly calls my bluff! My question: Is there really anything I can do or do I let this go? |

ferdvict2:Bro. The fact is not all ladies cheat. I find it hard to believe that guys think that this statement is false. I don't blame anyone though because I have personally being in a relationship with a girl that cheated and I broke up instantly. Moved on to the next relationship and I carried that idea into that relationship. It made it very difficult for me to trust the new girl and although she always made it clear to me that she won't cheat (and fr she never did!), I just didn't fully trust her because of that ideology that all girls cheat and guess what? It cost me that relationship. TL;DR: Not all girls cheat. There are loyal and decent ones still in this Nigeria. And abeg OP, na true o... money dey involved! |
