One ton capacity mixer and hammer mill with necessary accessories newly installed at TONG SIGNATURE FARMS PORTHACOURT RIVERS STATE.

The hammer mill is connected to a high speed blower which is connected to a conveyor that carries the crushed ingredients to the mixer automatically from the hammer mill. The hammer mill and the blower are being powered by 15hp electric motor while the mixer is powered by 10hp electric motor. The automatic transfer of ingredients to the mixer chamber makes the feeds production process easier and faster. Dust controlled mechanism is being inbuilt on the mixer which make the feeds production operation dustless. The hammer mill also comes with changeable screen which make sit operation multipurpose – this implies the machine can be used for different types of animal feeds production because it can crushed to different particle sizes. The noise is minimal and the machine is stable and easy to use.

This equipment can produced one ton per batch. A ton is 1000kg – that means 40 bags (25kg each) can be produced per batch. This can produce up to 6 to 8 ton of feed per day depending on the available man power. This is suitable for big farms or commercial feeds production.

Crude protein is very crucial to achieving a balanced feed formulation in layers and other types of feed. How you achieve your crude protein in term of ingredients used and at what proportion is very important.
You could have a very high crude protein in term of figure and still end up having a BAD OR POOR feeds. For instance blood meal has a very high crude protein (80%cp), but it protein is not as quality when compared with fish meal (65cp or 72cp). The same goes for GNC and SBM or rice bran and maize bran.
Ingredients PRIORITY and SELECTION is your guide in achieving a quality crude protein.in any feeds formulation.

FEEDS - CRUDE PROTEIN PERSPECTIVE I promised to use the last layers mash formula that I release on this forum as a case study. I have waited to see the performance of the birds currently taking the feed. The birds switched over completely to the new feed on Saturday after been mixed with the formal for about 7 days. Eggs production before changing to the new feed was within 45 -50%. Within a week of changing over completely to the new formula the eggs production has increased within 67-70% . The eggs have appreciated in sizes far beyond the formal I have taken time to give the details above in order to unfold my secrets of formulating a balanced layers mash. CRUDE PROTEIN PERSPECTIVE - the crude protein of the feeds is about 20.3%cp with my recent experience I have decided to increase the crude protein of a formula slightly higher than the normal required due to the following 1. Lack of access to proximate analysis by the majority of our farmers. Proximate analysis of raw materials are expected to be carried out for each set of feeds formulation Farmers in the majority depend on the recommended analysis by experts which is very conflicting (varies) Many a time the cp taking for a particular ingredient is not really so - most times is slightly lower. Therefore increasing a formula cp slightly above the required keep you on the safer side 2. Nature or present state of the raw materials - some raw materials have been attacked by weevils thereby reducing the claimed cp of such ingredients. So when you slightly increase your formula crude protein you are on the safer side 3. Processing method of certain ingredients.
