Politics › Dear Biafrans- Etcetera Writes (must Read) by emmanuel596(op): 12:36pm On Aug 01, 2015
I have been receiving a lot of mails and phone calls in recent weeks requesting that I lend my voice in support of the ongoing campaign for the sovereign state of Biafra and to also speak up against the recent shut down of Radio Biafra by National Broadcasting Commission. I have decided to make my opinion known to those who have been bombarding me with requests to support the Biafran movement.
Yes, I believe that the Igbo have been marginalised in nigeria right from
1970 till date. I also believe that as a people, the Igbo have every right to speak out and seek redress. I believe that no tribe or ethnic group in nigeria deserves to be marginalised or shut out by certain quarters of government because of an incident of the past. Just like every Igbo man, I believe that Biafra was a good dream born out of a necessity at that time. It was a good dream which went horribly wrong and became a nightmare for us, the Igbo people and the whole of Nigeria from 1967 to 1970, from which I believe we have woken up.
It will be foolhardy to dream the same dream in the same way and manner without thoroughly accounting for why and how it turned into a nightmare, and factoring in the changes that have taken place in Nigeria since the 1960s.
The thought that the actualisation of the sovereign state of Biafra is in itself the solution to all the problems of Ndigbo is to display an understandable naivety about human nature and today’s politics. What we need as a people is a new vision that will encompass the lessons of the past, the changes that have taken place since the end of the civil war, the reality of present day Nigeria and demand for a system founded on justice, liberty and equality under the rule of law for Ndigbo and non Igbo as well. I believe this new vision is attainable.
They say charity begins at home and in this regard, I believe it is time for every honest and sincere Igbo man or woman, to channel his or her energy towards actualising good leadership and government in Igboland by joining the political process. It is time for every one of us to unite against corruption in our land. It is time for Ndigbo to come together to reverse this ubiquitous trend of bad leadership ravishing Igboland and put in place a system that would enable the best of us to emerge as leaders.
Great nations are ruled by their best minds and not by a band of common thieves without respect for individual liberty and democracy that do nothing but devise ingenious ways to looting the treasury and serve the vilest and most primitive of human instincts. Without this political and cultural change embedded in the concept of our future, Igboland will remain underdeveloped, and that in itself, will constitute a gargantuan problem for us in the future. Making this necessary change in igboland will ensure that if and ever or when Nigeria collapses as a result of our collective idiocy, irresponsibility, ignorance and corruption, and the jumbo pay of politicians, Ndigbo will be better placed to build a new nation based on justice, equality, rule of law, tolerance, development and honesty.
War has never been the solution to any problem. I didn’t witness the civil war but from what I saw in my recent visit to Maiduguri, Adamawa and Plateau state, I have become a disciple of dialogue as a means to resolve issues. If Biafra will become a reality, it shouldn’t be through the barrel of a gun. It is wrong to seek divorce by putting a gun to your spouse’s head. We should realise that a divorce from Nigeria is also possible if the Nigeria state comes to its natural end because of years of ethnic and religious prejudices, injustices, and vision-less irresponsible, corrupt leadership that failed to lay the foundation of a viable state and make the necessary social investment for its survival. This might be the natural course of events if Nigeria continues to sleep walk into disaster and neglect honest nation building.
We shouldn’t continue to pursue the Biafra dream in the way and manner some people and groups are doing at the moment without regard to the present reality. It can only undermine the whole essence of the struggle. As an Igbo man, there is nothing I want for Igbo that I do not want for other ethnic groups. There is nothing I wish for my fellow Christians that I do not wish for Muslims. We are all humans after all. We are all brothers and sisters divided by language, skin colours and religion. I believe that enlightenment is recognition of this basic facts, and that underneath our skins, flows blood of the same colour and minds that can think alike and able to overcome the prejudices which our difference try to impose on our judgment. There is nothing that can justify the killing of a fellow man. I can only lend my voice to a vision that doesn’t entail the destruction of lives and property.
I am sorry to say that the continuous clamour for the recognition of Biafra by America may not yield much because of the selfish nature of America’s foreign policy. If there is nothing in it for America, America won’t get involved. We are a great and industrious people. For a start, won’t it be better to seek economic independence and have Nigeria and the rest of the world depend on us for something? Today, Africa has gone from car assemblage to total manufacturing. I am proud that I am alive to witness this history, that a Nigerian made car can actually be better that the Toyotas and Hondas of this world, and it is all due to the ingenuity of an Igbo man. Ndigbo, this can be a place to start. Igbo kwenu!!

Romance › MUST READ!: 10 Reasons Why Guys Often Say Ladies Have Nothing But S*x To Offer by emmanuel596(op): 9:31am On Aug 01, 2015
It is now a common scene to see how guys trash ladies both online and offline. Female bashing has become a norm that people no longer see anything good in our ladies whose bad sides outweighs the good sides.

Sometimes, even as a guy, I shed tears when guys often imply that ladies only have few minutes pleasure to offer them and just few of them can truly make their dreams come true (I think this assertion is true to a reasonable extent)

To be candid from the statistical point of view, the rate at which guys air their views and opinion about our ladies, one can jump to conclusion that good girls are now going into extinction or good girls are like needles in the occean which are very rare to find. However, good ladies have now become a treasure and a rare gem that when you find one, you have to give testimony in church.

I will try as much as possible not to sound harsh before they tag me a misogynist, because I know that many detest the truth. Though it may come as bashing but I expect the ladies to sieve the bashing and pick the sense in it

As said earlier, let she who have ears learn from this;

10 Reasons Why Guys Often Say Ladies Have Nothing But s*x To Offer

1. They are so much concerned about Receiving than Giving
No matter how we try to embellish this, it will not change the fact that it doesn’t make any sense. No guy will appreciate a lady who wants to milk him dry or wants him for only financial assistance and doesn’t care about his personal feelings or his happenings. These kinds of ladies have nothing to offer than milk you dry and in some cases compensate you with what they have under their skirts.

2. Because They Cannot be Relied upon
The materialistic ladies are mostly double dealer. They hardly keep on a guy as their boyfriend even if the guy give them heaven and earth, they will still look elsewhere for something they don’t really need because they are confused set of beings

This reminds me of a lady in my villa. Her boyfriend did all he could to ensure that the lady was contended (got her a well furnished apartment, and always sent allowances for feeding and her upkeep). On a fateful day, he paid her a surprise visit only to catch a dude bleeping her in the same room he secured for her. He got mad and sent her packing out of the apartment. All these yeye friends of her supported her and blamed the guy, saying what did he do that a guy has never done before.

Politics › Oil Worth $13.7bn Stolen Under NNPC, Says NEITI by emmanuel596(op): 7:54pm On Jul 30, 2015
The Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative, Hajiya Zainab Shamsuna-Ahmed, on Wednesday said between 2009 and 2012, about 160 million barrels of oil valued at $13.7bn was stolen under the watch of the national oil giant, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation.

She also said that subsidy payment from 2005 to 2012 indicated that $11.63bn had been paid to the NNPC but that “there is no evidence of the money being remitted to the federation account.”

The NEITI boss, who called on the Federal Government to privatize the refineries, stated this during a courtesy call on Governor Nasir el-Rufai, at Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House, Kaduna, on Wednesday.

El-Rufai is among the four governors appointed by the National Economic Council to scrutinise the accounts of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation and the Excess Crude Account managed by the administration of Goodluck Jonathan.

Part of the terms of reference was to unravel the N3.8trn not remitted to the Federation Account by the national oil giant between 2012 and May 2015, as well as $2.1bn said to have been deducted from the Excess Crude Account.

Governors of Akwa-Ibom, Edo and Gombe states were members of the team.

Hajiya Ahmed said, “Crude product swap of $866m was lost from 2009 to 2011 and $8243m in 2012. Total amount expended in subsidy payment from 2005 to 2012 as captured $11.63bn have been paid to the NNPC. However, there is no evidence that these amounts were remitted to the Federation Account,” she stated.

Meanwhile, Governor El-Rufai disclosed that since he called for the scrap of the NNPC, the corporation has been sponsoring articles in the media to attack him to fight on till NNPC will be killed.

He added that the corporation would be made to pay all monies it owed before its final death.

El-Rufai said, “NNPC has become a monster that is too powerful. I will continue to fight NNPC till it dies for Nigeria to survive.

“It is either Nigerians kill NNPC or NNPC will kill Nigeria.

“Since, I called for the death of NNPC, the corporation has sponsored articles attacking me, but I am telling them my skin is thicker than an elephant.”
Politics › Ohaneze Tells President Buhari!!! You Have Shown Your Hatred For Igbos by emmanuel596(op): 5:56pm On Jul 30, 2015
The Anambra State Chairman of the pan Igbo Cultural Organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, and chairman of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in the seven Igbo speaking states
, Elder Chris Eluemuno, has accused President Muhammadu Buhari of treating the Igbo nation with utter disdain.

Eluemuno, who spoke in Anambra Broadcasting Service Programme (ABS) television programme, ‘‘Face The Press’’, said that all the actions and utterances of President Buhari indicated that he did not like the Igbo people.

The Buhari’s actions, he said, contradicted his earlier stand that he belonged to everybody and belonged to nobody.
Eluemuno further backed his claim by saying that the situation where the President appointed five Service Chiefs in the country without an Igbo representation was a clear display of his hatred for the Igbo nation.

He faulted Buhari’s statement that he would first favour those who gave him more votes, stressing, “there is no way the President should expect all Nigerians to vote for him in the last presidential election.

“This statement contradicted Buhari’s earlier stand that he belonged to everybody and belonged to nobody”.

Eluemuno said that by Buhari’s behaviour to Ndigbo, they were justified in their decision not to vote for him in the last Presidential election.

Politics › God!!! Very Graphic Photos: Man Beheads Friend In Akwa Ibom State by emmanuel596(op): 5:45pm On Jul 30, 2015
Residents of Itu Road, Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, on Wednesday, woke to a horror sight, following the murder of Daniel Bassey Solomon, a middle-aged barber
by a close family friend and supposed boss, Steven Onowa, a graduate of Federal Polytechnic Oko, from Anambra State. Onowa has since been arrested by the Police in Akwa Ibom.

Confessing to the crime, Onowa said, he invited the deceased to his house for an urgent meeting and drugged his beer. He added that at about 3:00am he decided to kill him. Onowa said what infuriated him was that the deceased shouted on him when he asked for the N750,000 he was owing him.

He said the case was even reported to the SARS about last year, but the deceased refused to pay him till today. The suspect said, he cut Solomon into pieces to ease carriage, adding that he doesn't deal in human parts.
