Dropping some very important friends. Growing up we had it all, I mean all, even up to my early university days. I know the caliber of names that used to flock around the house and that I knew first hand because of my dad even their kids too, but somewhere along the line my dad started losing some great friends and very close associates and then he became born again and totally cut them off. Now na just the properties and family name, the juicy contracts stopped, the big name friends stopped coming save for a handful out of loyalty, although he's not broke but he could have been among those really big names shaking everywhere. Worse is when I try to use his connections to advance myself cos I'm most of their favorite, they always ask me, "how is your father doing these days" like I need his permission to get what I want or he should be able to get me what and where I want to go. Its frustrating but I can't really fault him cos I no really know the truth of the matter and I also really trust his judgement as a man, but it has costs me a lot of really great opportunities though honestly. I had to start carving my own path instead of continuing from where he stopped and standing on his shoulders. Why struggle through when I can get it easily. Abi who like to struggle? But it's what it is

Why not have a heart to heart conversation with him and understand why he had to cut them off! You may end up being grateful that he did!
