Drahl: Simply put, professional membership is an association representing members of a profession. E.g Nigeria society of engineers, Nigerian medical association, Society of petroleum engineers, NIM, ICAN etc. These associations charge money for membership and you pay an annual levy too. However, if you studied electrical/electronics eng, I can recommend a foreign body that will not charge you and you will get your membership certificate in 3weeks. You can't use ICPC. Kindly mention the body |

Wiztonero: After scaling through the screening of credentials and the aptitude test, I was disqualified on medical grounds. They told me I have pile and flat foot. I was so shocked and angry. Is it possible for someone to be suffering from pile and not know it? I passed through this same kind of medical screening in Onne last year during the NN DSSC 23 selection exercise and nothing like flat foot was detected. I was declared medically fit. Yet the Nigerian Army now is saying I am medically unfit. They told one other candidate that he has a bent back. This is someone who stood and walked as erect as the rest of us, yet somehow, the Army is sure his back is bent. I wonder if Nigeria will ever change. you sound like BN-08? |

ozone0801: Good morning guys, i have a small challenge. I couldnt print my photocard plus other documents when i first completed registration owing to the fact that network was bad as the time. Now, i'm back to the portal, only to find their mail containing my login info missing on my phone. I remember it was in my spam when it was sent, i might have mistakenly deleted it. The password recovery option on the portal is not working cos i've tried it. Please, what can i do? if you're using yahoo, there's a trash folder where deleted emails are stored. you can recover it from there. if you used Google Chrome for the registration. check under "settings" for the password saver. it would only show if you allowed it to save when you were registering. I don't how to recover emails from gmail, but I'll check it and get back to you if you're using gmail |

yemostar: Well critically observing how things are unfolding... i strongly believe that NAF would start inviting DSSC applicants to report to Kaduna by end of June / Early July... Looking at how NAF has arranged those of Airmen and Airwomen, their own is ending by 24th of June(Second batch), then unless we would be merged with them(which is not that plausible) So we may still have roughly about a month more to be invited...#justcriticallyobeserving I have been thinking in that line also I.e End of June or early July. I've been following the Airmen and Airwomen recruitment to see when their names would be published, this will likely give us an idea of how DSSC might follow. We just watch and wait |

khalis: Friends, come to think of it, are you guys sure the next stage wouldn't be post-pone till after Ramadan? Ramadan is accurately 3 weeks from today, what do you guys think? I strongly belief that no Muslim is expected to be drilled during fasting. May God grant our heart desires (Amen). One love. Don't get me wrong but what about the soldiers in the north east that are Muslim's, would they be redeployed to non combat roles till after the Ramadan? The OIC at my screening center said that weekends and public holidays are privileges. And also, won't the exercise of the Airmen/Airwomen fall within that period? |

Ayooluwa25: 'God is father over all'... I concur, very true! Please is it possible for someone with a 3rd class degree to be shortlisted? During the screening exercise, the OIC at my center (Maiduguri) said that they would follow the stated instructions and requirements but you have to wait for the shortlist to know your fate. Godspeed |

SKYZZZ: Pls, I need some advice I am gradually losing hope in continuing with this NAF job stuff. My story goes this way:
My mom is not happy that I want to join the military because we are just two children in the family, though I have tried convincing her that I am not going in as a combatant still she's not ready to listen.
This issue started when she told my uncle who is a staunch MASSOB member about my plans to join the military. My uncle sowed fear into her that we will be sent to the battle field to be killed by enemies as soon as we go in. He was also saying stuffs like, we will be used to fight against the Biafrans when war arises and of what gain will that be to me etc. This he said when he called me after talking to my mom. But, to me that's TRASH!
My biggest fear is that, I don't have much cash for transportation down to Kaduna for the second screening exercise. The only cash I have is to boost my little business which I was able to establish after my job stopped and I don't wan't to go to Kaduna without making it to the final list, that will amount to waste of money and a soldier told me that I should not bother going there if I don't have a high ranking military officer to assist me, but this I'm not bothered about 'cos my school mate and close friend is a second lieutenant in the NA and he told me no one helped him to join the NA.
My reason for seeking your advice is that I may likely go for the next stage 'coz I saw my final remark of this past screening written in my presence, it was "Q" As a DSSC officer, you're first and foremost a soldier before your profession comes into play. You might be deployed to a conflict zone to perform your profession if the need arises. And concerning whether you should forfeit because of the "godfather" factor, please don't. People with godfathers have lost out on so many opportunities though some were lucky, and God is father over all. Life is all about risks, if you can please try and make it to selection board if you're among those shortlisted. It's better you give your best than live the rest of your life thinking "what if" Godspeed. |

CEONdc: Guys, please what is the difference between dssc and ssc:what is the duration you are alowed to serve? What is the nature of the service,of dssc and ssc? 1.DSSC is for a selected set of professions while SSC is open to degrees. SSC is offered by the Nigerian Army only while the all the three services offer DSSC 2. Not sure for duration of service but you have to convert to Regular Option so that you can stay longer and eventually reach Generalship 3. SSC can be in either Combat Arms (infantry etc) or Combat Support Arms (Signals etc). DSSC perform their professional service while in the military. But take note, you are first and foremost a soldier before your profession that means you can be deployed to combat zone. Hope this helps. (I stand to be corrected on th3 above information) |
