Good morning EmmaSoft and other gurus in the house.
Is N500K now the maximum amount that can be transferred to fund Stanbic Money Market Fund account?
I tried to fund my Stanbic MMF account after a long time and I was surprised that I was restricted to only 500K naira.
Many thanks.

There is no any form of restriction. It could be the limit from your bank on transfers using the bank app. The only restriction I know is for Tier 1 account which is actually for financial inclusion where 20k is the maximum single transfer and the account cannot hold more than 200k, outside this there is no restriction whatsoever.

Kindly check with your bank.

That exactly is what I wanted to clarify to him. As long as a particular stock is not under technical suspension, it will always be available anytime the floor is open.
Another sentiment behind the assumption that stocks like NESTLE and maybe the likes of TOTAL, OKOMU, etc are hard to get is the stereotype that since they are of very high prices, only the super rich are allowed to have access to owning them hence according to the average Nigerian's perception, the ordinary investor is deliberately blocked off them by the rich.
I recall when I introduced a friend to the stock market in 2007 and each time he sent a mandate to his Stockbroker and the latter failed to carry it out due to scarcity occasioned by full bid for the stock, this guy would begin to propound conspiracy theories on how the cabal in Aso Rock owned most of the shares of all companies and for fear of the poor becoming rich like them, they are making sure that stocks are not available to buy. I had a very hard time trying to get him to apply his knowledge of demand and supply in Elementary Economics.

@Deadlytruth I can relate. Honestly, some people instead of seeking knowledge just conclude on the wrong premise and this is really affecting their investment pattern. Thank God for people like you and other ogas here sharing their knowledge if not it will be worse.

Care explaining how you came about the perception that NESTLE is hard to get?

I know there are some illiquid stocks but most folks here complaining of a stock hard to get normally will place a bid at a price that is perhaps -10% of the previous day's closing price and think since the system accepts, then it will be a deal. It does not work that way if you place a price limit that is too low compared with what sellers are offering, you may never buy a stock no matter how liquid the stock in question could be.

Can I transfer from dollars saved in my domiciliary account ( foreign earned and Cash deposited from aboki)

Cash deposited can not be used. The rule is that the way the dollar enters the account is the way it should come out. Most of the rules are set by CBN. As earlier advice since Norrenberger offers to exchange naira with dollars, you can bring in the naira if you wish to go with Norrenberger.

@Emmasoft, please throw more light on dollar mutual fund.
Thanks

Dollar mutual funds is just like any other mutual funds ie collection of funds for some specific investment in selected assets and managed by a professional (fund manager) in this case norrenberger. Dollar funds is dominated in dollar and the underlying assets is eurobonds. It's also in the meduim risk classification of investment by risk tolerance. The minimum holding period for NDF is 90 days. Unlike MMF that is 30 days.

Funding of dollar mutual fund account right now is not a very easy process except, the CBN relaxes the rules or you look for a mutual fund that will do the exchange for you at their own rate.

Exactly. If your dollar in your dom account was an inflow, you can do the transfer otherwise no way to fund the account because of the CBN rules.
However, of recently because of this issue of funding I pitch my tent with Norrenberger when it comes to dollar fund.

Norrenberger will accept naira. Just as @freeman67 said, the conversion rate will be at Norrenberger exchange rate, most times slightly higher than black market rate. The last one I did for a client was done at 970/$, that was early last week. It's daily valued. If you want to go with Norrenberger get in touch with my number displayed on my signature.

@Emmansoft, @Customstreet, @Mcy2 Please I already have stock account with Morgan Capital which I have found to be very okay.To diversify I want to open a second stock account with another low fees broker that also allows its clients direct live access to the trading floor, comparable to that of Morgan. My research on this thread pinpointed Stanbic brokers because of its relative low fees but going by the discussion here at page 6967 between BabsO2 and Omoeko to the effect that they monitor their orders to Stanbic through the portal of other stockbrokers, I now hesitate to go with Stanbic. Please which is the stockbroker whose fees is low and at the same gives investors direct access to the market like the Morgan's platform? My need is a broker with low fees (I do jijo) a platform with direct view of current market bids, offers and volume on real time basis. Suggestions are welcomed and I will do my due diligence before choosing. Thanks.

@BAMOFIN1 By default I will always refer anyone who cares to the firm I represent ie Investment One stockbrokers at least to help my ministry. Apart from that, at IONE you have direct access to the market via the web or through the Investment One app.

As for fees, what is charged is not above the regulator's stipulated rate, low is relative I wouldn't know your yardstick of measurement or comparison. You can open an account online using the third link on my signature.

Good evening, can someone recommend the best paying Mutual Fund currently in Nigeria, is there any that offers up to 15% Annually?

If you mean MMF there is non. Rate for MMF is between 8 to about 11% but if you wish to invest in riskier mutual funds like equity fund or balanced funds you can get even more than 20%.
Please take note of the bolded.

Please can you explain SFS REIT?

I think im abit confused about how REITS work. I wish to invest in SFS REIT as well.

REIT- Real Estate Investment Trust is a type of mutual fund dedicated to real estate investment.
Most investors that don't want tenants wahala and other troubles involved with rental income always prefer REIT.

The fund invest in commercial properties as well as residential properties mostly in high brow areas.
However, unlike the regular funds which are mostly open ended, most REITS which includes the SFSREIT are closed ended fund.

What that means is that it has a fixed number of units available to be invested in, just like shares of quoted companies that have fixed number of shares in issue. New units are not created for a new investor rather all interested investors buy from the existing fixed units available.

SFSREIT is also traded like normal equities on the NGX hence its value varies because the price is controlled by the forces of demand and supply.

To invest in SFSREIT, you need to have a stock/cscs account with a stockbroking firm like Investment One.
Be in touch if you need more clarity.

Good morning, dear investors. Please kindly put us thru the e-mandate form for dividends and elucidate more on it for the sake of some of us who are new to the system
For us to get it once and for all. Thanks

If you bought stocks from the NGX you will need to make your signature specimen available to the registrars incharge of the company's stocks you invested in before you complete the e mandate form.
Check my earlier posts on this for proper guide.

Please note that some registrars have activated the automatic update of investors details so you may no need to fill any mandate, your dividend will still be paid but I don't know the registrars, some folks here have such experience.

Is it not funny that a firm with half year eps of 10+ would struggle to make 20naira.
When we should ordinarily be talking of 200naira

In NGX many other things contribute to price appreciation not only numbers!
Ordinary one statement from an influencer in the market space can do what numbers can't do, it forms part of "the market has its own mind slogan"

That is one of the good things about the stock market. One can go out and come in at convenience and it still remains relevant to achieving investment objectives of many investors at a particular time.

Godspeed0:
bro what is money market fund and Treasury bill forgive my ignorance

@Godspeed0 based on your post which implies you want a low-risk investment that is why @Oyindamolah gave the advice.

A money market fund is a type of mutual fund (investment fund that pools money from different investors to invest in different asset classes and is managed by professionals(fund managers) and gives returns at an agreed period)

Money market fund as a type of mutual fund invests investors' funds in basically treasury bills and commercial papers.
Depending on the fund manager, each investor gets interest paid/reinvested every quarter or monthly as the case may be.
As already stated money market fund falls under the low-risk form of investment. Investors' capital is safe and returns are certain though there is little flexibility to the returns because it's daily valued but one thing is sure investors will get back their capital anytime it's needed.
Money market fund has easy entry and exit without any penalty after 30 days of entry.
Another good thing about a money market fund is that you need as little as N5,000 or less to start investing in it.
Most investors use MMF as a way to keep cash and serve as an emergency fund while enjoying high interest compared to the regular interest on savings accounts offered by MDBs.

To start investing in MMF, you need to open an account with a fund manager. You can do that with Stanbic ibtc asset management by clicking the link on my signature.

Treasury bills are government debt instruments. In layman's language, it means investors lending money to the federal government for a specific tenor ( 3 months, 6 months, or one year) and the borrower i.e. the federal government agreeing to pay interest. It's also a very safe and near-no-risk investment which anyone can do with no regret.

You can reach out to me if you need more clarification on mutual funds and other investments. My numbers are displayed on my signature.
