Jose Mourinho's legend is founded on the perception
that he is prepared for every conceivable situation,
but Marouane Fellaini's brother Mansour put that
theory to the test in the hours before Chelsea took on
Manchester United.
Fellaini dominated Mourinho's thinking in the build-
up to Saturday's Premier League crunch clash, with
the Special One opting to deploy Kurt Zouma
alongside Nemanja Matic at the base of midfield to
nullify the giant Belgian's aerial threat.
But when Chelsea's team hotel received a fuzzy-
haired visitor on the morning of the game, Mourinho
got some news that threatened to knock him out of
his stride: Fellaini wasn't playing.
The Portuguese maestro quickly worked out the true
identity of the unexpected guest, however, paving the
way for Chelsea to beat United and move three points
closer to a first Premier League title since 2010.

A 10-year-old girl, Chidinma, has been admitted at an
undisclosed hospital after a couple – Eucheria
Chukwuma and Jerry Oko-Oboh – allegedly beat her
up and st@bbed her in the pr!vate parts with a
broken bottle.
It was learnt that the couple and the victim’s family
lived on Joshua Street, Agbabiaka, in the Ajangbadi
area of Lagos. And that the couple a$$aulted the
minor for allegedly fiddling with the vagina of their
three-year-old daughter, Peace.
PUNCH Metro gathered that Chidinma, who denied
the allegation, had played with Peace at about
7pm on April 6. It was alleged that the toddler later
cried and told her parents that Chidinma fiddled with
her pr!vate parts.
Angered by the complaint, 30-year-old Chukwuma, it
was learnt, went to Chidinma’s mother, Ofia,
demanding that Chidinma follow her to her room.
A few minutes later, Ofia reportedly heard her
daughter screaming and rushed to Chukwuma’s
apartment to see what was wrong.
On getting there, the door was said to have been
locked by the couple who reportedly beat up the
victim repeatedly with punches. Not satisfied, the
wife allegedly st@bbed Chidinma in the pr!vate parts
and smeared them with pepper.
Punch was told that the couple fled the
neighbourhood when bl00d started gushing from
Chidinma’s vagina. They were later trailed and
arrested by the police after the attack was reported at
the Okokomaiko Police station.
The police said Chukwuma, in a statement she
voluntarily made at the station, confessed to the
crime, saying she became furious when the girl
declined comments about Peace’s allegation.
She and her husband were subsequently arraigned
before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court on three counts
bordering on a$$ault.
The offence, according to the police prosecutor,
Olusoji Ojaokomo, is punishable under sections 171,
243 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of
Nigeria, 2011.
The charges read in part:
“That you, Eucheria Chukwuma, 30 and Jerry Oko-
Oboh, 32 on April 6, 2015, at about 9pm on Joshua
Street, Agbabiaka, Oke-Agbo, Ajangbadi, in the Ojo
Magisterial District, did conspire to commit felony
and unlawfully a$$aulted one 10-year-old
Chidinma, by beating her up with fist blows in her
eye, which caused her harm.
That you, on the same date, time and place, in the
aforementioned magisterial district, did unlawfully
a$$ault one Chindima by stabb!ng her with a
broken bottle in her pr!vate parts.”
The accused persons, however, pleaded not guilty to
the offence.
The presiding magistrate, Mr. P.A. Adekomaya,
admitted them to bail in the sum of N100, 000 with a
surety each in like sum. He added that they be
remanded in prison custody until their bail
conditions were perfected.
The case was adjourned till May 13, 2015 for

A miracle baby, who was born the size of a
hand, has finally left hospital – five months after
he was born, Carlisle, England, UK.
The baby arrived 16 weeks premature and weighed
620g needed round-the-clock care. The
boy named Lukas Richard Lee Barnett got an
infection two weeks after being delivered and had to
spend five years in a special care baby unit. The boy’s
parents Sarah Barnett and dad Ryan Halbert were
told their newborn might not survive the night.
Recalling that crucial moment mother Sarah said: “I
stayed quite strong until that point but when I heard
that, it all hit home. We sat with him the whole night
waiting and watching him cry constantly in pain. It
wasn’t like being a parent. It was just watching and
feeling helpless because we were scared to touch
him. When I first held him on my chest, I didn’t even
know he was there. He was the size of my hand!”
Despite all the odds the the brave boy survived and
although he is still a tiny 4kg his parents are happy to
take him home to meet his family. Now he has
chronic lung disease and will need oxygen and the
support of a monitor for up to two years.
But the boy’s mother is ready to fight all the
difficulties and happy her baby boy is finally with her.
She said: “It’s really lucky that he survived. It’s a
miracle. I’m finally being a mum now and I’m getting
to do everything for him. He’s a really chilled out
baby and he’s starting to find his voice. It’s really
cute. I think he’s happy not getting check-ups from

media lately.
“Xenophobic attacks”, “hate speech”, “violence”…
Even tips started emerging on various websites
regarding how a Nigerian can protect himself/herself
while travelling to South Africa.
How has it turned out that South Africa has in several
days become a dangerous place for a Nigerian?..
All the things you need know about the current
conflict. 1. It’s not specifically about Nigerians
The saga apparently started with the speech by King
Goodwill Zwelithini who last month said that
foreigners must pack up and leave the country. Soon
reports about attacks by locals on immigrants broke
out.
Ten Nigerians were said to be among those attacked.
The king, whose so-called “hate speech” is believed to
have incited violence, blamed the media for
misinterpreting his words. But it did not help to solve
either the international diplomatic conflict, nor the
violence on the local level.
2. Africans get shocked, launch protests against
the barbaric killings
Nearly 5,000 people joined a rally condemning
xenophobia in South Africa’s Durban city after attacks
on foreigners in SA.
3. The Nigerian officials react immediately
The House of Representatives urged the Federal
Government to “rise up to the occasion by having
contingency plans to evacuate Nigerians within 24
hours to avoid us losing our citizens to these attacks”.
4. …and address President Goodluck Jonathan
Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the chief of the House
Committee on Diaspora Matters, lamented over the
development saying that Nigeria should not tolerate
it. The official called on GEJ to recall Nigeria’s high
commissioner from South Africa.
5. Even Boko Haram terrorists allegedly react
Those, who kill thousands of Nigerians every year,
were said to have issued a warning to South Africa.
The dreaded sect gave a 24-hour ultimatum to
Pretoria to stop the ma$$acres or face bombings
from them.
6. Meanwhile Senator Musiliu Obanikoro says no
Nigerians have been killed
Referring to the information provided by the Mission
in South Africa, the Minister of State II for Foreign
Affairs insisted that “no Nigerian casualty has been
ascertained”.
7. Ripe theories and versions amid crisis
The legacy of the apartheid era in South Africa when
the immigrants were not welcome in the country is
believed to be one of the reasons for hatred.
But most importantly, it it about the poor economic
situation and unemployment which cause the
violence.
8. Unless the attacks stop…
Amba$$ador Aminu Wali, Nigeria’s Minister of
Foreign Affairs, said the Federal Government
would evacuate Nigerian residents in South Africa if
the xenophobic attacks got worse.
As the problem remains still unresolved, it is not
clear what further development of the situation
should be expected. Hopefully, the effective solution
will be found before more innocent people become
victims of the lingering crisis.
