To all those on this thread, to those in Netherland, and to the intending ones; I will us to take a critical look at moving to Netherlands. Is it really worth it? 1. We spend a lot to get the Visa, I know what Nigerians go through before getting Visa in Ghana 2. The large sum spent on flight is another palaver on its own 3. You discover that though Netherlands is not so much a racial community, you will only find large concentration of blacks in Amsterdam 4. The balcks over there are in either barbing, driving of Taxi, or other related services. You just don't get jobs like we do in Nigeria 5. The schools here are nice but expensive, but after school, what next? 6. Most of or guys here in order to have a foothold have to marry the Locals either you like it or not 7. The weather is not as friendly as ours 8. I discovered that most moving out are either in their late 20's or early 30's, when do you want to settle down down and start enjoying the joy of family life. 9. Learning the Language is another thing you must do before you have any headway. Infact you must pass their exam. 10. For the first one to two years, it is evident that one can't do anything because of language barrier After going through all the above, what do one end up as? I have taken my time to go round and discovered that most blacks don't work in offices. This is not to discourage those intending to travel to Netherland but to get them prepared for what to meet here. |
Thanks to all those who have contributed to this thread in one way other, may God continue to bless you (amen) |

The Federal Government on Tuesday ordered that all primary and secondary schools in the country should resume on October 13, 2014 because of the outbreak of Ebola in the country. The Minister of Education, Ibrahim Shekarau announced the new resumption date after a marathon meeting with all the 36 state Commissioners of Education in Abuja on Tuesday evening.Shekarau, who briefed journalists after the meeting, said all private schools in the country should also comply with the directive. He added that schools should suspend their summer programmes with immediate effect.According to him, each of the private and public schools will be required to train at least two desk officers in collaboration with ministry of health officials on how to handle Ebola. He stated, “All state Commissioners of Education and I met this day 26th August, 2014 to discuss issues related to the reopening of schools for the new academic year (2014/2015) vis-à-vis the Ebola epidemic issue.“The meeting was also attended by senior officials of the Federal Ministry of Health. At the end of the meeting, the following decisions were arrived at as preventive measures to ensure the safety and well-being of all students in our schools throughout the Federation.“All Primary and Secondary schools, both Public and Private are to remain closed until Monday 13th October, 2014 which is the new school resumption date for all schools throughout the Federation.“This is to ensure that adequate preventive measures are put in place before the students report back to school. All State Ministries of Education are to immediately organize and ensure that at least two (2) staff in each school, both Public and Private, are trained by appropriate health workers on how to handle any suspected case of Ebola and also embark on immediate sensitization of all Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff in all schools on preventive measures. This training of staff must be concluded not later than 15th September, 2014.” http://www.punchng.com/news/ebola-schools-to-resume-october-13/ |

When one looks at the flamboyant lifestyle of our religious leaders, it is easily possible to be irritated by what they preach. Just make sure u know what u are out for, and learn how to achieve it with an unbiased mind. I pray that God in His infinite mercy will guide u and direct ur will. Am a philosopher, Historian, theologian, and also a Diplomat. Would really appreciate if we can relate better. PIN: 298264B2 |
What I will however advise u is to search within urself and nature, maybe u will sense d presence of a higher Being. The way u relate with the higher Being is now left for u, there are so many forms of belief u can choose from. In this part of the world, the most common being Christianity and Islam or ATR. U don't have to be carried away by what the preacher of any of the above says because man in himself is selfish, and uses any medium he has for self interest and gain. "Just hate the player and not the game". I will however advise that in any that u choose or decide to use as means of relating with nature, make sure u read and know about it thoroughly. "Knowledge is power". Make sure u move above the level of biased sentiments to a level in which the adulterated truths of our religious leaders can easily be deciphered. |
With the existence of a supreme being, it is left for us to decide on how to relate with Him. Hence, the plethora of ways of worship. There are so many forms of belief that has been able to stand the taste of time, so many of them older than Christianity and Islam which most of us here profess. Buddhism, hinduism, ATR, Judaism etc. The problem with the religion the white men brought was that it was diluted so that they can achieve their economic exploitation of Africa. In coming here, when they saw that the locals weren't being easily won over, they brought in the missionaries to counter over belief system which dint give room for any exploitation. In the African Traditional Religion/society, dispensation of Justice is immediate. How I wish that was still obtainable, maybe by now most of our senators will be dead. You dare not steal or betray others, the result was immediate. |
Pretense will do you no good. In the words of Augustine of Hippo, one of the essence of human existence is to have happines in our everyday life. If u decide to pretend, u could be made happy but u will never be happy within. However, according to Paschal Blaise, in his work about the existence of God, he noted that; if we say God doesn't exist, and decide not to do good or believe in, and at d end we discover He exist, we will be at a lose. Nonetheless, 'if we say God exit and decide to do good and believe in Him, we have nothing to lose at the end if we really later discover He exist. The truth is nobody has ever been able to Logically proof that God exist, and nobody has also been able to Logically and conclusively proof He doesn't exist. Science itself hasn't been able to prove He doesn't exist. All it has been able to deduce is that 'there's a higher being that control nature and the course of things'. Who tells the Sun and moon how to shift duty? From the above, it is important for u to realize that there's a higher being. In conclusion, it is not possible for u to deny the existence of something that does not exist. In the latin phrase "Cogito ergo sum" summarizes all that has been said above. |
