i will not force my religion down anyone's throat, so no one should force his down mine, i will not preach to you so don't preach  to me, i will never insult your God so don't ever insult mine, if i do insult your God i will accept watever you choose to do to me afterall i made the choice. now if you insult mine it should be my choice to punish you however i want to.

isn't this rule just simple enough for all of us?

Must everyone become a christian? The most annoying thing is even if you tell them you are a muslim, they still want to preach to you? That is really annoying as if Islam is not a religion. The truth is of all religious riots that is happening all over the world, christian are always behind it which the other religion try to retaliate. The christians mostly pretends what they do to have occassioned retaliation by the other religion was normal. See for instance what the guy above just said, that if you go to a Deeper life church and you insult their religion, they will pray for you, why must a right sensing person who respect his religion insult other people's religion? But because christian had been imbibing the culture of insulting other people's religion, that is why they will preach to you at any slightest opportunity irrespective of the religion you belong to. To me, once someone said he is muslim, i want to believe they should take it that way, by trying to preach further against his will is totalling insulting to that person religion it is like saying, yes we know you are a muslim, but christianity is better than your religion. That is wicked!

By comparison if you can ever compare that is, muslims don't force you to worship their god, but they refuse to have you insult him. and to a church or mosque why would anybody want to go in just to insult your God? what you are insinuating is impossible and senseless, if i have to go into a mosque in zamfara only to insult the god they worship, comon man why should they let me out?

evangelism or not people should not get in the way of other's by being bothersome, people should be free to make their choices and it doesn't have to affect other's period.
and for your imformation even in zamfara people don't walk up to you in the street and say accept allah bla bla, they respect you as a human being but when you outrightly this-respect their religion is when the problems come.

The only thing I can't tolerate is intolerance itself. I just hate it when people try to ridicule other people's beliefs. It's just not right.

About children,The children should be allowed their own free will to decide. Even God gave man his own free will to "choose whom ye shall serve" so why shouldn't children be allowed their own free will?
Forcing children to accept one's religious beliefs (or disbelief) does not work in the long run. No wonder we see children of Pastors going astray and children of non-religious people becoming staunch believers, children of Imams becoming Christians, etc.
As a child, I was exposed to different kinds of beliefs, but I chose the one makes the most sense to me!!

By the way, Nferyn is an atheist married to a Christian. I would like to hear some practical views.

What motivates me? My own personal code of ethics. I would never do to others what I wouldn't want them to do to me; I try as much as possible to make those around me happier as long as it is not at a cost to my personal happiness. I'm not driven by the fear of punishment or the desire for a reward.


Are you telling me it is fear of judgment that is motivating you? I find that somewhat troubling. Let's say you were a father, and you learnt your son was only obeying you because he was afraid that you would punish him, but if not for that he would run wild. What would you think of that son?


Well, there can be more than one reason for not doing the same thing - abi? But yes - this is something that both parents need to discuss properly before marriage.

I like capitalism over socialism, the economy is by far the worlds largest, unemployment is @ 4,5%. And that is including 7% of the population that is Illegal. Please tell me what else i need. Business is booming, home ownership is at a record, the middle class is strong here.

Compare that to Britain, where the people are as cold as the weather, everyone walks and talks like there is something stuck up their a$$es. Rooms are small, roads are tiny, living expenses are like off the chain. You are Taxed for owning a TV, waiting list to remove your aching tooth. Gas prices are unbelievable, therefore no one drives, right hand drive sucks as hell, 5-10 people share a home like college frat dorms. Call me crazy, but i am sure a lot of you are just accepting the place. Unlike America, it is EZ to fall in Love with this Joint. I have lived in both countries and there is no question, the USA Kicks A$$.
