I hope it wont be out of place to
congratulates you on your assumption of
office as the student Union Government
(SUG) President of our great citadel of
learning for 2015/2016 Academic Session
even though you assumed office over four
months ago, how has the Journey been sir?
Sir, Thank you for the Keke Napep
transportation you initiated during your
inaguration in September, 2015, kudos to
you man, but let me remind you that the
Keke Napep Initiative has not been helping
matters on campus, it has little or no effect
on campus, why? They are not enough, how
can six Tricycle served over 15,000
Students?, i cant remember the last time i
saw the tricycle on campus. Are they even
still up to six ? Learnt you were able to liase
with the College Management for the
extension of the Deadline for the Payment of
tution fees and the reduction in fine for late
payment of tuition fees, kudos but may i
take you down memory lane that that your
predecessor (Com.Isiaka Kamorudeen) was
able to liase with the same management
team, through this mean, he made sure no
students paid any fine for late payment,
Students were even allowed to pay their
tution fees when we were writing our first
semester examination, you may ask me
what is the difference between 5,000 and
10,000 Naira, not much sir. Did you take the
NCE 3 Students into consideration while
negotiating with the management on the
extension of tuition fees time frame bearing
in mind that they just finished their teaching
Practice Last week and practically only a very
few of them have even resumed on
campus? Remember some of them did do
their TP in Ondo town so they are more or
less cut-off from what is happening on
campus.
The tuition fees for 200L Degree students
was increased by the College Managment via
Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) with the
famous and now cliche word known as
''Adminstrative Charges'' i tried to check the
Meaning of Adminstrative Charges but i
couldnt find it in my dictionary, all you could
tell Nigerian Students were some stories
which i personally have not been able to
comprehend. Do you know that the WIFI
fees was increased from 1,500 to 3,000 this
academic session, where is the WIFI? Learnt
the Staffs are enjoying theirs, what about
we Arbicans, are we not entitled to what we
paid for?.
Mr President sir, may i remind you that no
Congress have been held this semester, i
even learnt your office was Burgled, are we
safe? Have you address the Press over this
issue, have you tell the Nigerian Students
what really happened. Learnt the Students
(Both Freshers and Stalites) are not really
paying the 500 Naira SUG Dues but the
Salaries of your excos are being paid as at
when due, learnt each exco recieved 20,000
last Month, how did you get that money? Do
you have other means of sourcing for fund
apart from the annual dues? what is the
statement account of the Union?
Have you been carrying the Press Along in
your adminstration? When last did you
address a Press Conference or grant an
Interview to the Press men on Campus on
the scope of things as regard your
adminstration.
Even learnt One of your exco whose Office is
beside you has lease out his Office to a dry
cleaner and he is collecting the rent, is it true
sir?
what about the Female Freshers always
Parading the Union Building both day and
night, are they the New College Supervisors?
My President sir, is it true some men in
Uniform tear-gassed you last month due to
your intrusion into their 'Zone' if a whole
SUG President can be tear gassed, what
about we students? Does it mean you are
feeble or not strong enough to be the SUG
President? What about the unfortunate
incident that happen few days ago where
you were allegedly slapped by a student. Are
we really safe, what do you think is
responsible for this, dont you think you have
to be more diplomatic in the way you handle
things or better still change your strateg
(ies).
What is your current relationship with the
men in Uniform on campus after the
unfortunate incident that happened, have
you reconciled with them? Have you
forgiven them or you still insist on your
words, i could remember i saw one of your
Press statement where you allegedly called
for their ban on campus, have you tried to
bring them into ur fold, dont you think they
are one of your students. Dont you think as
the SUG President, you are more or less the
Students father, who should correct and
forgive his children.
Whats up with Arbico FM? When are they
getting their Frequency?
Whats about your promise to improve the
social life on campus, has it improve? when
are you bringing the big artistes you
promised us during your campaign to
Arbico Land. Is your office open to students?
Is there a suggestion box in your office
where students can drop their idea and
though. Think about this letter sir, i wish
you the best. May the almighty bless you.

I rarely reply fake news but i will have to do
this, there was a publication yesterday in
the Punch Newspaper, the news was
written by one Ade Akanbi. A critical study
of the news shows that it was hurriedly
written with little or no fact, it was a
sponsored news. First, lets break it down,
first Punch Newspaper alleged that AFUED
has been down graded even without a fact.
Social media can be pardon for reporting
fake news but Punch can not, why should a
reputable Newspaper and one of the most
read newspaper in Nigeria Post a Fake
News? Yesterday Post by Punch Newspaper
yesterday has cause alot of confusion. There
was no rift between the two key player in
the Issue(Prof Ogen and Prof King). They
alleged there was confusion in AFUED when
there is None, even the Man in Question is
not in Nigeria, How can their been
Confusion? they allegedly that thr University
Status has been reversed, how can this
happen when there is no official memo
from the Federal Government or do you rely
on News on the social Media? all the
Hullaballo on this reversal of a thing is the
handiwork people who are against Our
Upgrading, the Federal Government knew
nothing about all this, President
Muhammadu Buhari know nothing about it,
they just formulated stories just to create
confusion and Punch Newspaper joined
them, Why? Posting unreliable news, News
that almost created a chaos on Campus
Yesteraday. Many thanks to the Vice
chancellor Prof Richard King who issued a
circular on Monday 24th of August to clear
the air on this, if at all there was any
reversal, Prof King will be the first to know
not on Social media. Yesterday News by
Punch Newspaper was a Sponsored post
and was meant to create to confusion on
campus but they failed. And i want to use
this medium to congratulate Arbicans for
living up to expectation by not falling for
Punch Newspaper tactics, deceit, Lies and
unwarranted Propaganda. AFUED has Come

The academic community of the Adeyemi
University of Education, Ondo is in a
dilemma over who now heads the
institution between Prof. Richard King and
Prof. Olukoya Ogen.
King was appointed as the vice-chancellor of
the institution in May, 2015, when the
College of Education was upgraded to a
university while Ogen was still the provost
of the college.
It was gathered that confusion set in
following the purported reversal of the
status of the school to that of a college of
education and Ogen, who had earlier
vacated the position following the upgrade
of the institution, was asked to resume as
the provost.
A recent media report had indicated that all
the colleges of education upgraded to
universities by the Jonathan administration
had been reversed to their former status by
Buhari.
Other affected colleges of education include
the Federal College of Education, Zaria,
Kaduna State; Federal College of Education,
Kano and the Alvan Ikoku Federal College of
Education, Owerri, Imo State.
To this end, a source said letters were sent
to all the ‘sacked’ provosts of the affected
institutions to return to their duty posts.
Ogen was said to have also received the
letter of resumption which, according to a
source, was dated August 19.
However, a reliable source on the campus
disclosed that King, on Monday, issued a
circular to all the staff of AUE that he
remained the head of the institution despite
the fact that the Federal Government had
issued a letter of resumption to Ogen as the
provost of the college.
According to the source, the memo stated
that King claimed that he had not received
any memo from the Federal Government
directing him to leave as the vice- chancellor.
Meanwhile, a member of the management
staff, who spoke with our correspondent on
condition of anonymity, confirmed the
development and said the staff were
confused over who to obey.
According to him, there has not been any
official announcement from the government
and the school also has not received any
circular to that effect.
When contacted on telephone, the Public
Relations Officer of the institution, Mr. Moses
Akinfolarin, declined to comment, saying, “ I
have no comment on it.” |
dunsman:when did Femi Adesina said that? Are you kidding, he neva issue any press statement as regard that. |
Contrary to the wide spread speculation on social media including Nairaland about the Reversal of the Federal University of Education recently back to College of Education, we can authoritatively tell All Nigeria this is not true, it was just misinformation. We got the message from the Fomer Provost and Acting Vice chancellor of AFUED Prof Olukoya Ogen and we want to use this medium to share it with all Nigerians. GOODWILL MESSAGE FROM PROF OLUKOYA OGEN TO ALL ARBICANS Dear colleagues, Greetings from Chicago, Illinois. Hope all of you are well. I am fine here and the weather is superb. There is tremendous progress regarding the grant and other proposed collaborations. Meanwhile, this is to quickly clarify our University status. Contrary to the news making the rounds, the FG has not outrightly reversed our status, but only puts its implementation on hold, ostensibly, pending the enactment of the necessary legal frameworks by the National Assembly. Authoritative sources from Abuja and a scanned copy of the FG memo sent to me expressly says ''Put on hold' and not 'reversal' This is in order to follow due process and to make budgetary provision for the new universities. Staff and students are therefore urged to remain calm so that the legal stage could be fast tracked with the same tact, vigour and speed that brought about the initial Presidential pronouncement last May. The Chairman, CoDs, Dr Gbade Ikuejube, has been directed to continue to oversee the affairs of our great institution until my return next week. Sincere regards, Prof Olukoya Ogen. Prof Olukoya Ogen is currently in the United State of America (USA) and he also in talk with some Universities in USA on ways to collaborate with AFUED. A 20 Million Dollar Grant is also on the way. The Professor of History is expected back to the University Next week. # Emma Tallest #Arbico Parrot Prof Olukoya Ogen was the Former Provost and Acting VC of AFUED. Adeyemi Federal University of Education (AFUED), Ondo formerly Adeyemi College of Education was one of the 3 Colleges of Education upgraded to University of Education by former Nigeria President Dr Goodluck Jonathan on May 21, 2015. |
Am in pensive melancholy as I write on
behalf of over 15000 students of Adeyemi
Federal University of Education (AFUED)
Ondo formerly Adeyemi College Of Education
on the proposed decision of president
Muhamodu Buhari to reverse the four
federal universities of Education approved
by the former president 'Goodluck Ebele
Jonathan'. Our greatness is not where we
are but the direction we are moving
towards , at times we may sail with the
wind while sometimes against it ,but we
must neither drift nor lie at the anchor. The
proposed plan of the president to reverse
the upgraded colleges of education back to
their status quo ante is an introduction of
confusion into the curriculum of these four
institutions. The purpose of the
establishment of the colleges of education in
Nigeria is to train serious minded fellow to
be pedagogically efficient and in a way that
is morally acceptable in the society at large.
However, there are limitations to the level
where the colleges of education graduates
can teach. It is a known fact that the highest
level NCE graduates can teach is Junior
secondary schools and this has greatly
affected the education sector as evident by
the invasion of charlatans into teaching
profession. This is however, one of the
problems of professionalization of teaching.
It is expected of an individual who have
obtained his bachelor degree in education
to be inducted into the Teachers
Registration council of Nigeria(TRCN). In a
bid to embrace professionalization of
teaching and to improve educational
standard in Nigeria, I want to unequivocally
say that the faculty of Education in the
university can not effectively and efficiently
carryout the assignment of producing
qualitative teachers in Nigeria, there should
be a sustained university of Education that
will deeply teach the doctrine and tenet of
teaching profession and concomitantly
improving the standard of education in
Nigeria.
BUHARI THAT I KNOW...
While we believe in the leadership of
President Muhamodu Buhari as an
uncompromised leader saddled with the
responsibility of sanitising the pavading
irregularities in our economy and inline with
your manifestoes to provide for Nigerians
qualitative Education, I want to inform the
President on behalf of over 15,000 students
of Adeyemi Federal University of Education
(AFUED) the benefit of sustaining the Federal
universities of Education . An attempt to
reverse our universities of Education is an
attempt to send qualitative Education to
extinction. Every generation has an
obligation to fulfill on behalf of the next
generation.
Mr president, we believe in you than taking
anti-education plan to reverse our
universities back to colleges. #sustain our
federal University of Education #support

''The Man Dies in Him who keeps quiet in

It is no longer news that the Non Academic
staff of Adeyemi Federal University of
Education (AFUED), Ondo protested on
thursday over the planned reversal of AFUED
University status, the protest has however
led to the uncovering of some hidden secret
within the University system, during the
protest, the Non Academic staff allegedly
accused some academic staffs of the
University(Which they failed to mention their
name) of being the brain behind the
planned reversal, the chairman of the
coalition of non-academic staff in the
university,Mr Femi Lademikan alleged that
Some Staff (Academic) of the University who
do not possess Ph.d Certificate are behind
this, the staff he said, felt their job will be at
stake if the University status come to reality,
in view of this, they formed a synergy with
the three other Colleges upgraded to a
University to mount pressure on the
Presidency to reverse the upgrading.
However, a new twist was added to the
drama, when a source within the University
authoritatively confirmed to Arbico Parrot
that the planned reversal was connected to
the over-bloated estimate submitted by the
University to the Federal Government. What
really happened was that the Federal
Government through the Federal Ministry of
Education asked the newly upgraded
University to make a submittion of what
they needed in terms of Money, Man Power,
academic staff, building etc to be a stardard
institution, in view of this, it was alleged that
the University presented an over-bloated
estimate to the Federal Government, when
the Federal Government got the report, it
was left with no option than to plan to
reverse them back to their initia status.
For the Arbicans, who have been blaming
President Muhammadu Buhari over the
planned reversal, it will be of note to tell
everyone that PMB knew nothing about this
reversal of a thing and even a Reversal back
to College will not be possible without his
approval. For now, their is no official
statement from the President or the Federal
Ministry of Education, in view of this ,Arbico
Parrot want to urge all Arbicans to disregard
any news of AFUED reversal, it's not true,
AFUED has Come to Stay, though, the enemy
of progress are not sleeping over this issue.
But They will All fail.
