Politics / Re: N17bn Bribe: Okonjo-iweala, Aides Loaded Budget With Own Projects, Says Gbajabia by emoched: 5:50am On May 29, 2018
But wait ooo.. This Gbajabiamila can lie ooo... Which Ministers or aides project is he talking about. Which of her aides contested in the 2015 election? Do ministers also do projects?
OreMI22:
Buhari and his bunch of jokers.

So Okonjo Iweala padded budget with projects and blinded the Senate from seeing the budget? Senate only saw the padded budgets under Buhari?

Buhari is a shameless failure. Telling silly childish lies portrays how desperate he is to continue looting Nigeria. Today, oil price is more than $70 per barrel. What has Buhari done with the doubled national earning? Has the economy improved as a result of earning double? Buhari is simply a THIEF!
Politics / Re: N17bn Bribe: Okonjo-iweala, Aides Loaded Budget With Own Projects, Says Gbajabia by emoched: 5:47am On May 29, 2018
They keep syphoning large amounts of money into their own pockets in the name of working for the people. Let those senators and reps come out and show us those projects implemented in their constituencies. Liars of heaven and earth!

If you don’t have any other lie to lie, just keep mum, instead of speaking trash that Okonjo-Iweala and her aides wanting to increase the budgets. Haba! How did the aides enter Nigeria’s budget that they have only come to defend before you? Chai! I fear for this country oo.
Politics / Re: N17bn Bribe: Okonjo-iweala, Aides Loaded Budget With Own Projects, Says Gbajabia by emoched: 5:46am On May 29, 2018
We need not even read the entire book to see what Okonjo-Iweala intended by the commentary. The N17 billion was an addition to the budget just as Gbajabiamila noted. Agreed. But it is important for all these politicians who are so quick to respond to the allegations to get the book and read for themselves.

Gbajabiamila should just accept the fact that you padded the budget to suit to whims and pursuits for in 2015. Budget padding has become a norm in the National assembly. Who knows how much they alloted again for Senators or Reps Projects, even now that 2019 is close?
Politics / Re: N17bn Bribe: Okonjo-iweala, Aides Loaded Budget With Own Projects, Says Gbajabia by emoched: 5:42am On May 29, 2018
“Gbajabiamila added that the “unfair” arrangement, made lawmakers to demand that many projects be sited in their constituencies as well, being the elected representatives of the people.” LOL! Baba has admitted that actually increased the budget for their selfish use oo.

It is so appalling that the supposedly fourth estate of the republic, who should sensitize the public with valid information have chosen the path of falsehood. Whether to attract agitated readers or simply for mischief, no one knows. Okonjo Iweala never said the N17 billion was a bribe.

I'm sure none of them has read the book, yet they keep saying rubbish. They just can't stand the deep revelations of their corrupt practices. God will expose them all.
SeyeTiamiyu:
This is why it is important for one to read Okonjo Iweala’s book one self, if not, one would just be mislead by this wrong reports.
Politics / Re: N17bn Bribe: Okonjo-iweala, Aides Loaded Budget With Own Projects, Says Gbajabia by emoched: 5:37am On May 29, 2018
For years now, budget padding has been going on the floor of the national assembly, yet there has been no legal action to curb this wicked and corrupt act. Jibrin’s case and the 2016 budget is still under the carpet.
Budwyde:
When you think about one of the brave policies Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala pioneered while in office by ensuring publication of government accounts, especially the ECA monthly, and you juxtapose that with what we have today, you sigh and breathe rather irrationally, because of our penchant of going around in circles. We take one step forward and take several backwards. God bless Nigeria

SeyeTiamiyu:
The truth is Okonjo Iweala is a brave woman and deserves to be commended for writing the book; fighting corruption is dangerous. It puts so many things into light.
If EFCC really means to fight corruption, the evidences in Okonjo-Iweala’s book are enough to begin immediate prosecution of those involved. But it’s a pity, they’ve all joined APC; they are now immune to EFCC. Magu himself. Since your Eagle has gone blind, God is watching you ooo.

How did the all-powerful "Coordinating Minister of the Economy" become someone a Presidential aide would block her access simply for doing her duty?

This is to tell you she is not all-powerful in any way. She is humble, and her servant-leadership is exceptional. Just as Okonjo-Iweala had her territory, the presidential aide had his too, which was what she respected. Do you know what due-process or protocol is? If you've ever got a chance to work, you would have understood the bureaucracy of workplace better. I'd advise you to go find a job and learn. I wonder what you would have done if you were in Okonjo-Iweala's shoes. Probably maim the aide alive.
Politics / Re: Okonjo-iweala And Aso Villa Prayer Warriors by emoched: 3:43pm On May 08, 2018
The fact that she mentioned, which you also pointed our attention to, that the president did not notice her for the days she was absent is enough evidence the debunk your irrational and nonsensical allegation that the solemn time of worship was a "kitchen cabinet, masquerading as prayer warriors?"

if you have nothing to write, just shut the hell up.

This is the most stupid and senseless article I've ever read. Whether it's about your sense of judgment or your decision to simply trade sense for hatred, I still can't figure out but, I'm sure you need help. You just picked up a sentence or two which she mentioned in passing to castigate Okonjo-Iweala. She only mentioned the prayer to situate her narrative in context. Must you be like this?

Okonjo-Iweala and Aso Villa Prayer Warriors By Simbo Olorunfemi
https://mrrightsng..com.ng/2018/05/okonjo-iweala-and-aso-villa-prayer.html

I do not know what Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala set out to achieve with her book,‘Fighting Corruption is Dangerous: The Story Behind the Headlines’ but if it is to help repair the damage done to her image on account of her last stint in public service, I doubt that some of the excerpts from the book in the public domain will help in that regard.

Her own account:

"I was privileged that part of my daily routine was to join the President and his family and his few close friends in Christian fellowship and morning prayers in the Residential Complex of the Villa. It was a way to gain strength for each difficult day. The prayer normally began at 6am so by 5:45am every day..."

Prayer is the master-key, someone sings. But the Minister of Finance having to be a part of daily routine of prayers with the President at 6 a.m?

Was that really about the prayer or a yearning to be a part of a kitchen cabinet, masquerading as prayer warriors?

Madam had to be in a prayer session with the President on daily basis to gain strength for each difficult day?

How did someone who negotiated herself into a specially- created, all-powerful title "Coordinating Minister of the Economy" become someone who had to become a 'set-forth-at-dawn' prayer warrior to maintain her influence?

So important was the daily prayer session to the Minister that even when she was denied entry on the first day, she didn't shrug it off and move on to gaining strength for the day through other means. She had to come back over the next three days to face the 'humiliation' of being turned back at the gate?

Was it really about the prayer? She had to call one of the go-to men at that time, Mr. John Kenny Opara who promised to discuss this with the villa pastor so they could intercede on her behalf! What was it about this early-morning prayer that Madam Okonjo-Iweala had to be there?

And her presence was so important that for a daily routine which was only for the President, his family and his few close friends, the President would not notice the absence of this his 'close friend' for all of 3 days to be able to bring it up with her?

Could it be that the President knew that, as with a lot of these things, many of the prayer warriors were not necessarily there for the prayers, but for other things?

How did the all-powerful "Coordinating Minister of the Economy" become someone a Presidential aide would block her access simply for doing her duty? How petty can it get that she would be barred from a 'private' prayer session? How disorganised can the Villa be that protocol will be blatantly breached such that the MD of IMF usually accorded the Head of State status would be denied entry through the proper gate, just to spite Dr Okonjo-Iweala?

And Madam who knows about protocol, having once served as Foreign Affairs Minister, did not deem it fit to bring up this embarrassing breach of protocol with the President! She chose not to rock the boat?

To think that this incident reported by Madam happened in as early as 2011. So, how did she cope as Coordinating Minister of the Economy over the next 4 years? How did she cope without the daily prayer session?

Prayer warriors as palace courtiers

So influential have prayer warriors become, over the years, that Chaplains, Diviners and Alfas have become powerful men who opened doors of access to people in power.

Some do not even have official titles but they make things happen as powerful palace courtiers. Those who know, know them.

Who would have known that a Minister has to grovel to be a part of prayer sessions to be able to 'function'?

Power is good. Even for some who never let us forget how they were doing us a favour by opting for public service.

The things people have to put up with just to remain in office.

Who would have known that Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala was also one of the Prayer Warriors?

What should make this headline? Shouldn't it be the corruption in the agencies mention? NOI who worked in the interest of the country by regulating the fiscal revenue as her duty demands don't deserve these accusing fingers. We ought to pounce on NNPC, Customs, and all of those misfits occupying the honourable positions in the agencies.

The problem of the country is this stupid blame game. We are fond of pushing the responsibility of the consequences of a misfortune of another, especially when they do not belong to our 'party'. No nation grows this way. Little wonder we keep retrogressing.

There is something I'm yet to understand about this APC leadership. Every unfortunate situation is ascribed to the previous administration. You need not deride the efforts of others good or bad, just because you want to gain fame and popular support. That's not leadership. It is foolishness. I thought the propaganda was 'Change'. So, just go ahead and change whatever need to be changed and stop boring us with criticisms.

And the senate, how much have they remitted in form of taxes? You want to tarnish the image of a world renowed good woman, foolish people.

Don't mind them. Some of them were in the Senate then, but they had nothing reasonable to contribute to the economy. NOI gave a beautiful to curb corruption, they started ranting after how many years. Funny sets of people.

Is it APC that is running a righteous government? Think! I’m not a political partisan, but one just needs to be bright with judgement. You probably need to read Maina’s story, and several other madness being done by the present government. No government is clean. But twisting the good intentions of others doesn’t make you right. The 25% revenue was to cub the looters in the Oil sector. There no law guiding remittance before her memo. Institutions just remit whatever they feel like.

It's funny how Nigerians twist information to damage the reputation of people not in their caucus. NOI has not been charged for any corrupt practice. Her good intentions are always misinterpreted.

We should focus more on saving the nation on the intending doom befalling the nation and forget of the past. the problems we face now weigh too much to be neglected. quick action is what we want.

Did anyone ever imagine the gravity of corruption going on in most revenue generating institutions in the country that warranted the Memo? Before this Memo, there was no fixed percentage of revenue these institutions are to remit. They only push in the crumbs of their embezzlement. To end the madness in the country, NOI came up with a brilliant strategy to stop corruption: Each institution must remit at least 25% on the revenue generated. Since the excuse for them is expenditure, they were allowed to use the remaining 75% on expenditure. Intelligent. Nigeria needs more women and leaders like Okonjo Iweala.

The percentage of remittance was set to cub the leakages in NNPC at that time. Before the Memo, revenue generating agencies remit figures that are way lesser than the income. The Memo was to set a scale for the corruptions in those sectors. This statement from would enlighten you better on this.
"The NNPC, which has come under public scrutiny, especially with the revelation by the suspended Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor Sanusi Lamido Sanusi that the Corporation did not remit $10.8 billion to the federation account, has severally been criticised for lack of transparency in recent years. The NNPC was said to have lost $720 million in potential revenue to crude oil theft and production disruption during in January 2013, and incurred $1.22 billion in the repair and maintenance of its 5,000 kilometers of oil pipelines.
But if the words of Okonjo-Iweala is anything to go by, then the days of accountability for the State oil Corporation may just be around the corner. “We need to see the justification, with receipts, where the money has been spent. Where this is not so, NNPC will need to account for the money. We need all the money due to the Federation Account and reconciliation with NNPC on the money is under way,” she insisted.. To curb this, revenue-generating agencies must now remit at least 25 percent of their gross revenue, and tie their budget on the balance after remittance." (The Nation)
