Assuming u are applying for Visa after that due date, den non payment of tuition will affect u, but since u are applying before that day its nt a must u pay. Just tell ur sponsor to get set wt the money cos cic might ask you to go and pay before approving your visa, have seen cases like dat or pay about 3k out of d whole money. |

I want to know if there's anyone that got his/her permit without paying the part payment. paying school fees does not have any effect on your visa application, its on CIC website But u need to consider the deadline on ur admission letter |

GuiltySpark343: I am so weak of will to write this post… anyway, whatever we talk about it will be about the Volkswagen LT28/LT31/LT35/LT 45 long frame (28 seater) diesel bus commuting within Siemens(hop[e I got the spelling right), marina or Mile 2 festac side to agbara, oguafor, aradagu(close to badagry)
My opinion, if anybody told you that commercial intra state transport is lucrative, the may not have lied to you , but they didn’t tell you the truth either
Now this is what a typical month is like(a month is inbetween servicing in this case 21days) you change oil filter, gas filter, pour oil treatment, wash radiator(which if dirty courses engine to overheat), change engine oil, change brake pad, then servicing labour Now every 2 months because of the bad roads, though it is under construction (and will be OK in future), the upper and lower arms of the front wheels have to be changed, which cost quite a lot, uou can also expect tp rebind the clutch with leather to be sharp and sieze the opportunity to grease the spizer borex also
Every three months, you have to change the gear and axle oil, if the bus enters water change within teo days or risk changin the entire back axle and gear box, also check the propeller sharft hanger called centre casing
Coming to the bus purchase, it costs N1.2m for the bus and to put it on the road as well as tropicalizing and adapting it for nigeria road which invloves
1.change the two cwll radiator used in temperate climate to 3cell for tropical climate(alumium radiators are better)
2.raise the front wheels for better ground clearance
3.remove the turbocharge(becos nigeria mechanics dont understand it)
4 set engine thermostat from automatic to permanant on
5. change the tyres to a cheaper 16 inch ream compared to costly 14in tyres
6. use heavy metal guage to make the passenger chairs
7. downgrade the braking syste3ms to use only front tires(most brake failures are cause by the rear wheels)
all these will cost around half a million inclusive of painting and registration
I will advise you register the bus under the name of a high ranking military officer(for driver seriousness)
Also the buses generate N7,000 - N9,000 daily and you have to spend around N45,000 to tur thins around every 21days, be the judge
I can furnish you with the knowledge i have acquired for a fee(token)I advice you set up a company an do this your self, have supervisors chasing drivers, and military personnel to help recover imbounded vehicles from the hands of vio, lastma, police etc
regards I will love to discuss something with you, pls call or WhatsApp me on +2348136909187 |

Siena: For starters, the questions you're asking here can't really get answers with any degree of accuracy.
I see someone asked you to take a picture of the engine, and post it here. You haven't done that. You are asking how to check cylinder compression. Well, I've got news for you. Checking the cylinder compression in a diesel engine is very different from doing the same in a gasoline engine. Different tools, different approach, not a DIY job either.
You don't even know the engine code, or spec. So what would you compare your compression test results with, assuming you were able to do it?
You're talking about buying rings "first", then trying things out. That is the best way to chuck money away. You might as well put a bunch of Naira notes into a blast furnace, and watch them burn. If you're having new rings fitted, you can't just "buy a set". The engine will first need to be stripped, the bores checked, and bored out to the next oversize if they are damaged. This will mean either new oversize pistons and rings, or if a very slight increase in bore size, matched rings with your existing pistons. You can't simply guess what is needed.
Putting new rings in will also require a full gasket set, and new cylinder head bolts. You can NOT reuse the old ones, as they are stretch bolts. The cylinder head gasket also comes in 3 different thicknesses, depending on how much the head has been skimmed by, assuming it's been apart and worked on in the past.
Take your LT to a shop that know what they're dong. Otherwise you might as well scrap it / sell it for spare parts.
Good luck. Am so sorry i haven't posted the pix, i usually get home late daily.

9icetoo: I don't know how to test turbos of that model. I know turbos don't kick in until a certain RPM. I used a scan tool to check mine and boost pressure reported from the MAP sensor was within spec. ringing is a whole different ball game. The cylinder bores would have to be measured assuming it is suffering from low compression. Then what size of rings and pistons to be fitted would be determined from the measurements. A mech can remove the turbo and inspect it to see if the turbines still behave as they should. Check for leaks in the turbo pipings as well if you are checking the turbo. Remember my earlier post though; if the fuel economy is still okay, you might as well continue driving the bus like that. Please note that diesel engines from your bus era were not particularly fast. In fact, they were slow pokes and took forever to get up to speed. So what you might think is sluggish acceleration might actually be normal. Aside the engine oil consumption, every other thing seems normal. But the cost of buying engine oil is rather hi |
Car Talk › Re: Volkswagen LT (28, 35, 40, 55) Buses Issues Both Diesel And Petrol Engines by emperoracro(op): 9:12pm On Jul 23, 2015 |
9icetoo: Thick black smoke on startup is normal if it clears within 15 seconds or so. That's diesel that wasn't burnt completely during startup. White smoke when you accelerate hard means a). coolant being burnt (not likely as your bus will most likely have water in the radiator now), b). unburnt diesel. Scenario b will most likely be as a result of a million and one things. It will take a competent diesel mechanic to narrow it down (good luck finding one). If the fuel economy isn't too bad, you can drive it till it stops moving while saving up for a new engine. If you have the resources and the time, get it fixed. Since this is a commercial bus, I do not think you want it sleeping around in a mech workshop workshop when it it can be out there making some cool cash for ya. Like Siena said, it won't be an easy undertaking getting it fixed which is why many peeps go down the 'change engine route'. It's entirely my opinion though. Yh d black smoke clears almost immediately, what do u think about the turbo and ringing? |

First you wrote that you have problem with the power... then i saw that the engine is using lots of oil ...
Check the turbo first ! , take off inlet pipes that goes to the turbo and see how much oil is there ... you could even take a picture and put it here. Ok sir, i will do dat wen i get home today. |

NigerianNewbie: Good morning house.
There are 2 questions I'd like to ask.
1. What's the best way to move funds out of the country now, since there's a restriction on cash that can be moved physically (CAD 10,000 or so, not sure), since one cannot open a Canadian bank account from here to do a transfer? Also, considering the restrictions by banks on foreign currency.
2. From experience and personal opinions, what's the most reliable Nigerian bank to bank with from Canada?
Thank you all. 1. Do u mean from Nija to Canada? If yes, then get a Gtbank naira MasterCard or First bank prepaid credit card, u can use both over there but dont forget ATM charges. If am to move 15K cad, wat i will do is deposit 5k in my Account and travel wt 10k cash, cos ATM charges about #420 on each transaction if am nt mistaken |
