Christianity EtcRe: Why Are We Not Supposed To Eat Meat On Ash Wednesday And Fridays During Lent? by Empredboy(m): 5:34pm On Feb 10, 2016
emmyw:
but honestly what's the different between what you said and the one I stated above?
please it was not because Christ died on Friday. This was the explanation we were told when we were young cos the teacher knew our iq was low but if u tell a pentecostal what u said it will be a mockery of the church. Lent =fasten + abstinence. Unlike pentecostal who only do fasting. Why Catholic added abstinence is because of those who can't fast as u know that we all are all member of the body called Christ

The reason why Catholics not being allowed to eat meat on Fridays during Lent is to remind the faithful that Jesus died on a Friday. Jesus gave up His body (His flesh), and Catholics, in an effort to attain greater communion with Christ, refrain from consuming flesh.

why not say what you know? Catholics avoid meat during this period is because it called fasting and abstinence. Fasting is the normal thing which we do away with food for some period while abstinence is when leave things that we love most just to undergo so physical pain.
Now the church made it mandatory that we all should abstain from meat just to partake in the lenten period cos not everyone can fast like the pregnant women, elderly people, sport men and women, children, and so on but everyone can abstain from meat.
In addition personally the church also encourages everyone to abstain from some pleasure for the sake of Christ like instead of taking a bus for a few kilometer we can treak then use the money to pay the needy, also deny the body of some fun. That is why the Catholic call it lent. Lent is fasting and abstinence

inspite of the unwarranted distractions from companies and agents of the defunct NFL
Ltd and welcomes the official commencement of broadcast contract with super sport
duly approved by member clubs since September 6, 2013. The meeting pledged the
total cooperation and support of the entire members of the company comprising the 20
participating clubs and NFF and indeed the LMC Board.

PoliticsEFCC And Federal Government Answer Us by Empredboy(op): 8:19am On Feb 04, 2016
yesterday we were told that efcc has recovered $2trillon from looters, fraudsters and criminals in the last 12 years.
If at the rate of #200 for a dollar then it amounts to #400 trillion. Our budget is at most #7trillion a year.
My question, if truly efcc has recovered #400 trillion in 12 years why can't the government use the recovered money to finance our budget?
Abi when they recovered it, some criminals will steal it again and efcc will recover it and it will be accumulating?
Or is it that efcc is trying to play on our intelligence?
Please someone should answer us.

Deep down there is a voice saying all these are wrong; interceding through Mary, praying the rosary, intercession of saints etc. These are all traditions not Christianity. Forget about the pride thing because someone is correcting you kindly discover it yourself.
The word is never assumed and it is clear so please stop making out things that are not. I am a Catholic with modifications rather I would say I'm a believer of God.
you can't serve two masters at a time, it's either you are for one and against the other. If you don't believe in the Catholic teachings then you can gently denounce yourself from the church. But i will advise you to ask questions why things you see or hear from the church at like that. It's unfortunate that you don't read your Bible to know about the spiritual and the traditional of the early Christians. Plz read your Bible.

I still wonder how Usman was not good enough to start the game against Niger. Usman and Chikatara came in as subs and the game turned around.

In this game, Oliseh chose to leave Chikatara on the bench and gave Adeniji so much time when he offered nothing. He also pulled off Usman the best player very early.
bros if you follow the league u will know that nanso edo is better than Etim, Akas chima has no business in that team, this match showed that it's either oliseh is not a good coach or he just wanted to sabotage the effort of us the promoter of the league

Yea... I v listened to some nice priests like Fr. Dibie. Buh then the parish priests are just vague abt the Word. You leave every sunday feeling empty. CBIU is a strong group. I ll study abt them a lil. Same with charismatics. But why cant I get this spirituality from the church, why church groups?
my bro want I want you to know is that Catholic will only build you to have a personal relationship with God. The relationship is contain in the first question of the cathism class. Which who made you? and we say God made us. Why did God made you? We say God made us to KNOW HIM, SERVE HIM IN THIS WORLD HAPPYAND TO BE HAPPY AFTER OUR LIFE. Now the church has made u to know that u must have an encounter with God to know him better, serve him and be happy. How do you know God? by studying ur Bible, attending religious meeting and attending mass. Note: just as Christ was not begging for follwership the same the church doesn't beg for members to stay cos we all are going to account for our sins.

Bro, I want to be a true Christian in catholic church. But the Word there is weak. I got more conscious of building a relationship with God when I visited another church, just the preaching for that day gave me a serious rethink. I came back to my catholic church and I wasnt feeling it. I really want to get close to God in catholic not just observing catholic rituals and doctrines. Christianity is way deeper than that.
it's because ur mind is almost made up against the Catholic Church. Secondly, what u want to hear in the Catholic Church is not said but things of the world like prosperity, mistaking magic as miracle and prasing God in an unholy way.
My advice is either u should leave the Catholic Church and go and look for the "light" then after some weeks ask ur self if u are comfortable with ur self. Or sit down and ask to ahead of you in faith to enlighten you in Catholic faith through God way.
