Bought m2 in November, it fell in water January, I removes battery took it to engineer and got it dried, came up good. Used it for like a month then it brick on downloading whatsapp plus.


I dint have the stock backup so I downloaded kitkat from xda and flash the rom.
It came up good but with this issues.


1=the +button not responding,

2=if I remove battery, there is soft brick.


So I was using it like that, Today I went to Gionee office Ibadan to Complain, was so so disappointed with the hard and unfriendly way I was treated. Nothing concrete was said it's like they don't even understand rom issues.



My Major problem now is this, @gionee office the engn opened it up, by the time he coupled it back. The power botton and - button is no more working.


Pls gurus can bug causes this issues, Pls I need contributions.. Thanks

We will try our best to help you.
When you bricked your phone was it on JB ROM because reviving a JB with KitKat without firmware update can make the phone to malfunction.

Another thing is XDA guys make ROMs mostly for 4gb M2 and advise users to flash something like boot img of 8gb M2 for the ROM to work better on 8gb M2 if you will use the ROM on 8gb M2. Is yours 8gb?

If you were on Jelly Bean stock rom you will need to flash JB stock or custom rom. Vice versa for KK stock or custom ROM.
For the power issue.. I'd advise you do the flashing first. If it's successful and the power button still didn't come up then try to check the back cover attached to the phone as it carries the buttons to see if the buttons' pointers are still good. Also check if the shiny silver that the pointers makes contact with are available because it is through their contacts the phone can power.

Please flash the suitable ROM before you do the hardware thing. Anything beyond your scope don't forget to visit a good GSM repair.

What's the name of the rom you're on?
Is it a custom or stock ROM?
How did you try to tweak the IMEI?
Is your phone rooted?
Do you have mobile uncle tools installed and granted superSU or superuser permission?
And which recovery do you have.?

Since you've done that am sure you don't need to carry out any back up again. Option 1 Try downloading and flashing a new Gionee M2 JB ROM. Flash all the block using SP flash tool. Make sure the ROM you will flash is confirmed to work well on other phones. Also if you are on M2 4gb use 4gb ROM.. If you're on 8gb use 8gb ROM. You will need a computer to do these. I hope you have an idea. Option2 If you have a custom recovery like CWM you can also flash a working M2 ROM to the phone and am sure it will work fine. I've fixed phones that way. I strongly recommend option one as it's the ultimate. If you can't do it yourself try anyone that knows how to. It will reduce stress & damage. But if you try these things and there's still no solution (which I doubt will happen) then you will have to visit any Gionee office close to you.

My reply was late because I was banned yesterday for 24hrs. I tried replying but no way. I'm still wondering what I did wrong. For the time I will stop using the hash symbol for demarcation.

Same thing happened to me lastnl night and is still on. It says you can't make post right now try in few hours or more and since then I've not been able to. I'm helping a guy fix his phone in Gionee General Discussion thread. Is this a ban or a bug please as I can post in some other threads. Please help us to help others. Thanks

Where is your location?

For most of us using stock KK ROM. After the first official upgrade. There are two (OTA Over The Air) updates. I'd advise you to do only the first OTA as the second one is with bug and not treated yet. It sends international message in background anytime you reboot or sometimes. And using automatic update of date/time of sim one gives you wrong date/time. I tried it only on mtn.

What have you tried so far to solve the problem?

For most of us running JB on Gionee M2.
There is always message icon notification error saying you have unread messages which are not really there.
To solve this, goto you message or inbox, press the option button on your phone, select export/import and export the messages to your memory... Still in the message page press option button again and export/import, import the just exported messages and you will find the hidden messages. Read them before you delete them.
These should solve the problem for most Gionee phones. Confirmed on P4 Jelly Bean and works well on M2 JB.

Please gurus in the house, my m2 misbehaving, it doesn't charge again but the charging icon is showing charging, again when I want to on the torchlight it will give this feedback "led light hardware is busy try again in 20 seconds or reboot your phone", when rebooted it's still same thing. Pls someone come to my help

What did you do before you got the problem?
Do you have any back up before the problem.. If yes what kinda back up?
Are you on stock rom?
Are on kitkat?
What did you use mobile uncle tools for.. Change IMEI?
MTKdroid tools- what did you do with it?
Is your phone rooted?
Which ROM files did you use for flashing?
Have you installed MTK drivers on your system?
Do you know about SPflash tool?
Is USB debug switched ON on your phone?
Reply me these and I will try to help but you will have to be smart on your part like get better network and mb for files downloads..

To the Moderators: I am sorry if this is not the right place for these thread. But I created it here because it's related to computers.

The healthy state of a computer in an Internet cafe is very important as we all know. And without maintenance computers that have worked a long time (6 months to a year) in a public place (cafe) will end up dead. It's quite expensive to fix or buy new computer for replace as you will be going through all the processes of installation (time consuming) and etc. Customers will be disappointed at slow and poor performance from computers and might decide to try other internet cafes. I bet we don't want that. To save you all these stress try to carry out maintenance.

Internet cafes don't allow external drives ( majority of people using cafes now are not happy with these motive as they want to access files in their drives..modern world)

Slow computers ( very annoying when your time burns and you don't make any good use of it)

How to avoid all these headache from computers is the question. Please drop your troubles, question, suggestions and advice.

A friend of mine bought bb z10 from outside the country to use jn Nigeria. It has Verizon on it but when you insert a sim it doesn't pop any error message so i think it's unlooked. Voice calls and sms works perfectly on it but it only browse on WiFi now. I've tried all types of subscription from mtn on it but to no avail. I use mtn on it. I tried the two available APN but same problem. The data connection symbol is not stable as it blinks all the time. What do you think can solve the problem?

pls what have you guys heared about the 2nd choicers.........i was dere 4days before post utme reg but my details was not found in data base. we with such problem were asked to go to jamb office to lay complaints wish i did..went to the vice director's office and dey told me dat d list of 2nd choicers of uni jos is nt ready cos d skuul didn't request for it. i kept callaing a lecturer whom i collected contact..he said d skul management has sent staffs to jamb's office and d time for 2nd choicers' post utme is coming up and i should keep ma eyes to the news paper or any news source.. am weak nw sef..i called him today.
