Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Life Of An Unemployed Naija Girl by emyjay2015: 9:14am On Aug 01, 2016
My idea it is well. There are so many of us like you who wake up everyday hoping and praying it will only get better. #unemployedbutfullofjoy
jholam:
So after graduating from the university about a year ago i have'nt got a job. I know most of you will say (just one year and you are complaining.) Well it does'nt matter.

All that matters is that one is without a job and it is extremely annoying and life is boring.
You see adverts everywhere of job openings and you wonder if there are just for show or if people are really getting these jobs.
Once or twice you see a testimony on nairaland that someone just got a job and you begin to pray for your own.
You wait and wait for a miracle because now your degree does not matter again. If you don't have somebody somewhere, 'na only miracle you go hope on.

After going through school, burning mid night candles, going for lectures, doing stupid assignments that lecturers never read and struggling to see that your name is on flimsy attendance cheat for ten marks, what do you get?
Answer - A long stay in your fathers house, waiting for when somebody will visit and dash you money. Because your parents do not have your time again.
Most times, you might even here comments like" abeg do go marry" or better still "you no get boyfriend?".
Sometimes you begin to wonder what went wrong but in the end, what can one do but hope for a miracle.

Life is hard o. Especially if you are unemployed and a girl in naija.

sugardad1:
Nigerians are so creative that rather than find out the English names of certain fruits, they have either stuck with the traditional name or invented a new name for said fruit. Here are common
examples:

1. Tropical Almonds
The tropical almond can be found in many parts of Southern Nigeria. But Nigerians definitely don’t bother calling it tropical almond. This delicious fruit is referred to as “fruit”.

Coke is till same even malt and other soft drinks. Sometimes the traders deliberately inflate the prices cos they know the consumers will buy when they don't have an option
Generalkorex:

i disagree with dat of coke too
small coke 35cl is still N50 in my area
while the big one 55cl is still N70.
Gala and other sausages are still d same price.

Religion / Re: Should I Pay My Tithe Or Pay My Brother's School Fees? by emyjay2015: 11:59am On May 10, 2016
Have always wanted a thorough explanation on this tithe issue, cos I get to meet people who had rather save for tithe or offering than feed themselves or their family
ptolomes:
This is the very reason that God did not ask for silver nor Gold when He commanded the tithe I challenge anyone on this forum to show me where in the scripture that silver or gold was used as a measuring unit for the tithe, absolutely none, the thithe was always from the crops, in the fields , or goat's o sheep, and don't nobody start me off on the story that their was no currency at the time so they used their crops as collateral, bros all Na wash , the unit of money was sheckles of silver or gold, and for your info the thither was per house in order words your father if her pays tithe my brother you hae no business with tithing , because our father had done that, but we live in a time that pastors need to stay in business so they device means of making people afraid and interpreting scriptures to their advantage , make no mistake it would b profitable for any venture you us it for, after the scriptures are profitable for doctrine for reproof .....long and short bros go handle your brother matter you never reach to tithe and besides check your bible well you go see say n.a. every three years wey you suppose to pay am in the End of that third year, but pastors will not tell yu this and we suppose flex the tithe together with the priests jus check Deuteronomy sha just go handle your bros firs then we go yarn
Religion / Re: Should I Pay My Tithe Or Pay My Brother's School Fees? by emyjay2015: 11:52am On May 10, 2016
GBAM
AyeeIdris:
Some questions eh! God is a spiritual being. He does not need your money. The ten commandments did not mention tithes. Tithes go to the church. The church will survive without your tithe. Your brother's education will suffer. Think wisely.

No shade to Christains but when some people say you pay your tithes for God's blessing. It begs the question. Is God a money doubler? Give me 100 naira and i will give one million? Or does he need to be bribed? Isnt having a good heart, living a righteous life and loving everyone enough to earn you his love and blessing?? Faith is great and all but it is also God that gave us common sense. I am pretty sure he intended for us to use it.
Religion / Re: Should I Pay My Tithe Or Pay My Brother's School Fees? by emyjay2015: 11:49am On May 10, 2016
You spoke well quote author=Dahveydson post=45486000]Charity is the greatest of all.

You want to pay tithe while your brother stays home because of school fees? - ask yourself, what will jesus say? - in all of jesus miracles and teachings, where did he shelf love for the law?

How can you say you love God, if you cannot love your brother enough to pay his fees? And who said that tithe must be paid to the church?

My advise, pay your brother's school fees. Showing love and care is greater than paying tithe that you see as a levy. [/quote]
