This is an example of missplaced priority...why build a lagos to calabar rail when even 20% of that money can be used to build a world class port in calabar and port harcourt..who want to travel from lag to calabar on a train....or of what do you hope to bring into calabar from lagos that cannot be brought in through the sea.
The yoruba oligarchy have decided to ensure that the south south never get a port so that people will not leave lagos and the innefectual buffon after 6yrs in power could not even build one port in his home region.
The only way for igbos to leave lagos is to build a port in the south south, complete the onitsha inland port and all industries in lagos will move with it and lagos shall cease to be no mans land and go back to the binis or yorubas and it will join the degeneracy of the rest of the waste..

Well said my brother, there has been a conspiracy to ensure that ports are never built in the south south and east...but that plot shall eventually fail.

PoliticsNigerian Artistes Are Going Into Politics For Money – Cclarion Chukwura by endi4real(op): 12:00pm On Oct 17, 2014
Known for stirring up controversies in the Nollywood scene, actress Clarion Chukwura is at it again!

The seasoned actress has made it known in a recent interview with Punch that all the performers, especially Nollywood practitioners, who are joining partisan politics are sheer hypocrites. Clarion reiterated saying that most of the artistes who go into politics do so because they are not getting much money from their various jobs as entertainers.

In her words; “The motive of those who are embracing partisan politics is purely monetary. Let us call a spade a spade. If you tell me that you want to go into politics to serve the people, I would want to look at your record first.

“I want to see what you have done to better the lives of the people in your immediate community. How many boreholes have you sunk in the community? How many hours of community service have you given for free over the last four or five years? How well are you known as somebody who yearns for improvement in social development?”

The astute actress who is known for having a thing or two against the leadership of the Actors Guild of Nigeria also aired her opinion on the fact that all Nollywood stakeholders are not treated fairly as they ought to be treated. She said:

‘‘I observed that some people already felt that being in charge was the same thing as being in a position to hobnob with top politicians in the corridors of power and to get money from various interest groups in the country. And there was so much desperation on the part of the leadership of the guild to hold on to power because they see their position as a platform to make money”.

“In Hollywood, you don’t just post the picture of a star actor or actress on your blog. Some popular bloggers are doing that in this country and walking away with a lot of money. You don’t organise award events, such as the Nollywood Movie Awards, without paying for using the name ‘Nollywood’. Since the word ‘Nollywood’ is a trade mark for the Nigerian film industry, you have to obtain a license before you can use it.”
It would be recalled that just recently, the 2014 AMAA Best Actress winner made it known why she is bitter towards AGN president Ibinabo Fiberesima.

Politics2015: Buhari/fashola Ticket Will Floor Jonathan – APC Chieftain by endi4real(op): 11:44am On Oct 17, 2014
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos State, Chief Ayo Akande, has predicted that the opposition party would win the 2015 presidential election if it picks former head of states, Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) as its presidential candidate and the Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola, as his running mate.

Akande, who said this in a statement on Thursday, said Buhari and Fashola will give the PDP a good fight.

Recall that Buhari on Wednesday declared to run for the post of the president on the platform of the APC.

Akande, who noted that the Buhari/Fashola’s ticket was his best option, said corruption would be reduced considerably just as terrorism will be reduced to the barest level if the APC considers the duo.

He said, “A Buhari/Fashola combination stands to offer lot of advantages. We all know Buhari as a man of good virtue, who did not corruptly enrich himself. The APC stands a better chance to defeat President Goodluck Jonathan who has been endorsed as the sole candidate of the PDP for the 2015 presidential election.

“A Buhari/Fashola team would give the Peoples Democratic Party a good fight in the presidential elections.

“The antecedents of Buhari as a military head of state in terms of war against indiscipline and corruption and Fashola’s self-discipline and accountability would give the APC the long-sought exalted seat of the president of the country.”

“Fashola will make a good president but if the presidency is zoned to the North, then he will make a perfect running mate to Buhari,” he said.

I hope these ugly incidents end soon enough, but before they do...isn't it common sense to engage proactively and constructively, while resisting the nauseating urge to make light jokes of such....?
I have a feeling though, that the numbers of comedians and bemused audience scavenging fun from the abominable exploits of boko haram in the north shall experience a sharp decline if and when for instance their (boko haram) gaze shifts to the west or east?
Just me thinking aloud.....food for thought.
