Travel / NCAA Dismisses Threats To Shutdown Airports On Sunday by enessye(m): 7:25pm On Oct 24, 2015
The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has dismissed reports that two trade unions in the aviation sector were threatening to shut down airports across the country by Sunday’s midnight and embark on a nationwide strike.

Sam Adurogboye, the NCAA’s acting general manager, dismissed the threats in a text message sent to the News Agency of Nigeria on Saturday, October 24, in Lagos.

Two unions (the National Union of Air Transport Employees and the National Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers) had earlier issued the travel ban warning in a letter dated October 21.

The secretary generals of these unions, Olayinka Abioye and Aba Ocheme respectively, sent a letter to their members, directing them to embark on an indefinite strike from Sunday midnight.

However, Adurogboye assured Nigerians that the threats to close the airports were false as the unions had suspended the planned strike.

Premium Times reports that a peace meeting has been scheduled for Monday, October 26, to find resolution of the dispute with the workers.

“We learnt that the unions had circulated an e-mail alleging a travel ban to Nigeria with effect from tomorrow’s midnight.

“I hereby declare to the whole world that it is not true. Nigerian airspace is open to flight operations at all times.

“NCAA cannot be closing airspace it is meant to guard. Our primary responsibility is to ensure the safety of air travellers. That e-mail should be disregarded. We are investigating the source,’’ the message read.

Pls Nairalanders I need an experienced traveler to clear this issue. A person boards Qatar airways going to Atlanta but the ticket intenery goes thru.

Want to ask, where will he be checked in (as in immigration)? Is it Miami or Atlanta.
Miami to Atlanta is a connecting flight though Qatar will transfer to american airline to complete the trip. Pls he is soooo confused help.

I heard Miami is so strict to visitors and probability of missing flight is so high.

And lastly he needed to be cleared on luggages. On this trip, at what point will he clear his luggages and if he decides to carry a little like just a small box? Will it required checking.

Pls I need credible response. Thanks a lot people

Religion / An Angel Fell From The Sky In London. Must Read by enessye(m): 6:37pm On Aug 04, 2015
Rumours and messages are spreading across the Internet claiming to show a fallen angel (above) that apparently fell from the sky this week in London. The image claims to show an elderly man with what appears to be wings, face down wearing a white gown.

The image has spread across the Internet and it is difficult to ascertain exactly where the messages began, but website NewsWatch33.com has recently published the story as well as a many other websites and blogs, even various YouTube videos. The NewsWatch33.com article reads in part –

An Angel like creature has fallen from the skies of London. Authorities quickly removed the creature from the scene after securing the area, but not before witnesses were able to view it. Reportedly, an Angel like creature fell from the sky at approximately 1:50 pm
Despite the prolific rumours, sites like NewsWatch33.com are fake news sites, and the images do not show a fallen angel. In fact they show an art exhibit by Beijing artists Sun Yuan and Peng Yu. The piece is made from silica gel, stainless steel, fiberglass over a woven mesh, and was created back in 2008.

tosyne2much: Nigeria is a country where we nurse discrimination.... It applies to virtually all aspects in Nigeria... U ar talkin bout HND/Bsc disparity even wen Bsc's in Nigeria are not equivalent... A Bsc holder frm a reputable private university is rated above his Bsc counterpart frm anoda state universities and vice versa... D prob is frm d system and only God can come to our rescue
God will surely bless you bro. That's just it

slyk2: This article never discussed entrepreneurship did it?
If you were not biased before commenting, you would at least read it before writing.
It seems you are directly saying that HND holders should from day one think of starting a business - are you?

Bros if u read tru very well with a constructive thought, u will see that I aint speaking for any side. I repeat " success is not a Measure of B.SC or HND attainment" or the institution that produces them. I know ppl who had neither of both and the both combined cannot Measure up to his level of success. I wrote this for u to take ur view away from no B.sc and you are a failure. Be it B.sc or HND success still lies ahead of that. Bros with all due respect this shldnt be an arguement just using this medium as a wake up call to all our graduates and the undergraduates. We produce millions of graduates every year. The labour Market can't absorb 35percent. The fact* B.sc holders can succeed *HND holders can succeed without any limitation. Even with all the B.sc, some don't earn N150,000 per anum and even HND. You are talking as if get b.sc all the world is urs. Hmmmm let's just pray for Nigeria that one day each institution will av a hand in the development of the nation as it was the originally plan.

@op you better wake up from ur dreams. Ur kind Is the reason nigeria is not moving forward. Soooooo many graduates in nigeria are roaming about the streets be it b.sc or HND. A nation where an ordinary cleaner can earn More than a graduate. YES capital letter YES more than a graduate. Certification there and here. All the most influential ppl in this world rule with ideas(problem solvers) not one stupid certiificate. Education is not success its just a means to success. So what ever the medium u use in attaining that education is not the success but putting it to use cuz it open doors of opportunities to see the world, its problem and an ideal solution to them. Not roaming the streets of lagos with CVs. My uncle is an HND holder and has over 50 staffs among are b.sc holders wic he pays handsoMely. Its hightime undergraduates takes off the mentality of jobsearch and add value to themselves with diverse skills because hmmmmmm them papa wey don graduate since 19XX evenm with Masters be it PGD or PDF still dey road. That's what Nigeria is saying now. EMPOWERMENT. If u wmant to get the real certificate, bros go to havard or a pry six leaving cert holder will employ you in lagos be it HND or BSC. Yes its a fact. Ideas now rule the world irrespective of the institution that produces you. Being educated goes beyond university and poly bro open ur eyes...........any Means u use to attain knowlege is now education. Its knowlege that works not certificate. Its the only way to build nigeria not enslaving ourselves into contract staffs. Chaii naija. Anyway we will get there.
