I stopped all drugs as curing one ailment brings another. Elsueno: |
Thank u for ur concerns and recommendations. On the issue of seeing pebbles, that's not the case, I practice deep litter system and the bottom of my cage is made of brc wire, I only allowed them to play within the perimeter of the cage to see how they are fairing as that may be difficult to observe in the cage chukskafor: |
All drugs used based on recommended till date since the first bird drop dead, and yet they still keep dying and I just buried the 7th out of 14 birds. There is tonic that I do give them too but it's not in attached pictures

Pictures taken this morning

I lost one of the 3 bird feeling feverish that I posted in here yesterday again this morning when I go to check on them in the cage and another of them is not really moving and preferred to stay in one place. Picture attached. I have given them all palm oil again this morning and also mixed a drug a poultry specialist who came to examine them gave me 2 days ago to use for 5 days but I stopped yesterday to give them palm oil as recommended here. |
Thank u sir, I have just gave them all 5ml of palm oil as suggested by one of us here, meanwhile I was given a liquid drug by a poultry farmer yesterday to use for 5 days but I decided not to give them this evening as one of us here said antibiotics may not be the solution. Am at the cross road here, there is non of the remaining 8 birds left with swollen eye or head. But whichever one that had swollen eye didn't survive despite close monitoring and drug usage. |
For how long should I administer the palm oil? Then on the issue of antibiotics, it was the picture of one of the bird that I showed to a vet that makes him recommend the antibiotics. As a first timer, I dont know my right from left. The first picture is the one I showed the vet medicine personnel that makes him give me antibiotics and yet I lost the bed. The remaining 2 pictures are still alive but feeling feverishThank u sir chukskafor:

yemmit90:firstly their poo was readish and 2 died already before I could notice that as a first timer, and their cage is made of wire mesh which will not make me see their poo often except I check the ground. Then I complained to a vet who gave me drug for that and that situation changed, then I discovered some are not still feeling fine and antibiotics was recommended, which I administered, and despite that, 2 died again, I then discovered green poo and coughing and sneezing and i was giving crd drugs and yet i have lost 2 again to swollen eyes and jaw. Infact another 2 are feeling feverish as of today |
SAMIexx:I think the birds had issues from the seller which I dont know off cos I brought a poultry specialist home yesterday to check on the remaining ones and she told me. They are kept in a new cage as this is my first time of breeding. |
Please I am a first timer in noiler breeders, I bought 6 of 4 weeks old and another 8 of 5 weeks old from a seller with a week interval between them sometime in april this year, as we speak I have lost 5 of the second set bought and at the verge of loosing another one to infections/diseases. I tried to give them best of treatment in terms of hospitality and medication to the extent that the person selling the drugs to me said I have really tried in terms of spending on drugs. Whenever I complain to them and I am ask to get a particular drug I asked for the most effective of the drugs cos I see the boilers as my pet. The first thing I observed was that their dungs was reddish and I was giving drug to combat it, then I observed one of them has swollen jaw and an eye closed, and I was giving an antibiotics to administer to them all. After then I was asked to buy tonic which I bought and dispensed to them. Eventually the one with swollen jaw died. The unfortunate thing is that I am practising deep litter system and when I observed one of them is not agile, I do use 5ml syringe to administer the drug from the mixture and the noiler wont still survive. Of late I discover they were coughing and I bought crd drugs and administered for 5 days which ended on sunday, so I gave them tonic again, all for me to see one of them with swollen jaw and an eye closed again and it couldn't eat. I have administer antibiotics to it again and I isolated it. Please what can I do? Even if this one will not survive, I dont want the remaining 8 to have issues again. Thank u
