2024 will be the year of Nairaland's resurgence. I will face Nairaland squarely like I used to before the discouraging Data Loss Incident of 2014. I will hire more hands to help us to improve Nairaland.

The problems of Nairaland that we should have solved years ago will be solved.

* We will defeat tribalists, trolls, & spammers.
* We will complete our advertising platform.
* We will improve the UI and UX.
* Home page topics will be educative & fresh.
* We will reverse the anti-women trends.

However, I must warn you that things will get worse before they get better. Please stand with us and fight for us as Nairaland faces the tough challenges of 2024, which have already started.

Even when his appointed son went against him, he said nothing cos he knew he didn't have the power to do much. But as soon as he is in charge, do you see him as someone who isn't in charge like Buhari? Not saying he is doing fine cos I don't like him that much...but he is certainly in control of his government.

Do you want him to go against the power that can force a "state of emergency" on him? You people hailed him when he destroyed the House of Assembly and that was what killed him....cos the president can invoke a "state of emergency". The president has called the attorney general to give him angles to use and invoke it. A state where over 90% of lawmakers are rendered homeless because the governor destroyed their home? Wike would just tell them to bring real violence. Sim started it....by the time they start burning and pulling down structures here and there...Sim is out. Tinubu will impose a state of emergency and appoint Wike's new anointed person as the governor and then rule for like 1 to 2 years before another election is conducted. You need to think ahead .... don't just talk.

For machinery, this depend on your scale of production. You can choose to start in small scale and gradually raise it if business is good. Overtime you will gain economics of scale. Dear Nairalanders and Advertisers.

Nairaland's server was taken down by our host's abuse team because of an abuse report that wasn't attended to on time.

After rectifying the error, we brought the server back for a few minutes, but they decided to take the server down again. Since then, we haven't heard from the abuse team, yet the support team keeps insisting that only the abuse team can help us.

So we had to transfer Nairaland to a temporary host in order to bring it back to you. A VERY time-consuming process. We are not fully back, even though most features of the site are working. We still have a long way to go. Additional downtime is likely; don't let it alarm you.

There's a lot more to say, but I have to go back to work to ensure that our return is permanent. Please forgive us for the stress we caused. We appreciate the love and support that you showed us during the ordeal. Nairaland is too important for us to let this happen again.
