So far, so good for us, we are cruising to three much-needed points. We've certainly been the better of the two sides so far, with Getafe really struggling to get into the game. The visitors have impressed defensively on several occasions, but with a two-goal deficit to now overturn, it's looking increasing likely that they're going to have to head back to the southern suburbs empty-handed. |
30' Madrid push forward once again, and this time it's Theo who whips in a dangerous cross. It almost manages to pick out Ronaldo in front of goal, but the ball deflects off the chest of Dakonam and into the hands of Martinez. |
Isco and Bale link up nicely in the middle of the pitch before the latter pokes a pass out to Carvajal. The full-back is in a pocket of space and crosses, but his ball into the box is poor and easily cleared. |
' Remy rises high on the edge of the Madrid penalty area and catches Nacho in the side of the head with a flailing arm, resulting in the referee showing the forward a yellow card. |
GOAL! Bale has fired Madrid into the lead! The home side haven't been at their best so far, but they've nonetheless managed to find a way in front. A looping cross from Benzema flies over to the far post and picks out Isco, who nods the ball down to Bale and sets him up to beat Martinez with a first-time strike. |
Neymar stretched off and in tears, with or without him I think Madrid will go through in the Champions League but it would be a shame if Neymar doesn't make the World Cup. - Utd (@SimplyUtd) February 25, 2018 Neymar stretchered off for PSG. Could be a doubt for Brazil's friendlies in March, if serious - Jack Lang (@jacklang) February 25, 2018 Neymar stretchered off & in tears with just over a week until Real Madrid at home. #PSGOM #LeClassique - Jonathan Johnson (@Jon_LeGossip) February 25, 2018 |

Barcelona have bossed possession so far but it's Chelsea who have gone closest to opening the scoring. On two separate occasions Willian hit the post with excellent long-range strikes, giving Barcelona plenty to think about at the half-time break. The Blues have sat deep and defended well, and they've certainly impressed when hitting their opponents on quick counter-attacks. |
Betis' defensive lapses proved costly when Asensio headed home early on but, after a glut of opportunities that the hosts failed to convert, Mandi was finally there to nod in the equaliser before, moments later, Firpo’s strike was turned in by Nacho. |
The referee’s half-time whistle brings a magnificent opening period to an end. Betis lead, having come from behind following Asensio’s early opener. |
jamescross:Hernandez plays a neat pass into Ronaldo who, with a sharp turn of pace and some neat skill, gets the better of his marker. He follows that up with a powerful strike, but Adan is well-placed to make the stop. |

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has regretted neglecting the advice of Cristiano Ronaldo by choosing Isco over James Rodriguez last summer, according to report. Real Madrid is dumped out of the Copa Del Rey and is 19 points behind Barcelona in the La Liga and a huge number of the senior squad have failed to perform this season. Isco was chosen over the Colombian attacker and James was sent out on a two-year loan to Bayern Munich and he has impressed this season with the Bavarian outfit and Isco has failed to perform for the Bernabeu. Zidane now believed that he made the wrong decision by holding on to Isco and releasing James to Bayern Munich. According to Diario Gol Ronaldo and Marcelo were among the players to advise Zidane to get rid of Isco but the Frenchman ignored their advice and now regret his decision. Zidane has informed Real Madrid president Florentino Perez to sell the playmaker in the next summer and Isco has also split the Real Madrid dressing into fractions as the likes of Marco Asensio, Dani Ceballos, Theo Hernandez etc are in Isco’s camp while Ronaldo has his own group too in the Real Madrid dressing. And Diario Gol claims Gareth Bale has asked Zidane not to start Isco when Real face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League last-16 later this month. |

Following last weekend's 1-1 derby draw at Espanyol, leaders Barcelona were unable to return to winning ways against Getafe. |
FULL TIME! Newcastle get a massive 1-0 victory to beat Manchester United for the first time in five years and a massive three points for the Magpies' battle to avoid relegation. Rafael Benitez's side were superb throughout and thoroughly deserve their win, against a Manchester United side who were very poor |
90' + 3' Corner after corner for Manchester United. Newcastle starting to get a little desperate at the back. Every header won is cheered like a goal and Shelvey boots it forward for Joselu but he fouls Young. |
