Hi guys, when filling the visa application form, what should I write for the duration of course? My concern is that my PhD is 3 years and financially sponsored for 3 years as stated in the letter, but the CAS has 4 years on it. How many years do you advice that I write? Also, I saw somewhere that I could just write 'the length of my course'. What do you think?

My formal question has not been answered, however, here is another one.

My study is sponsored by an organization but not Commonwealth and the likes. I don't know which one out of these two options to pick.

A. Tier 4 general student
B. Tier 4 general sponsored student.

I understand that the appropriate one to choose is Tier 4 general sponsored student, but the informations I got from online search is misleading. Some stated emphatically that even if you have a sponsor like the one I got, you should pick Tier 4 general student. However, the reason for such statement was not stated.

I humbly request for your advice on this and hope there is no future implications on any choice I made.

Hi guys, how do I determine the amount to be paid for my health insurance fee. My PhD program is 3 years but 4 years was stated on my CAS (1/1/2017 to 31/12/2020). The problem now is that when I checked online it shows £675 which is for 4 and half years. Is that the amount I should pay?

@Justwise pls can i print oanda rate for the day i applied online and made payments and attachit to my bank statement? Since u said ukvi uses dt day rate to calculate closing bal on our bank statement. Also my statement ws printed on 8th sept to get my Cas issued, can i use same statement or quickly print anoda one on monday from the bank with recent date on it? My interview is on monday at the ikeja vac also paid for priority. Student visa and its much senrenren! Lol.

You will only get away with that if the embassy did not call your bank to ask for the last transaction in that account.

I think it happened to somebody here 2yrs ago or so where the embassy asked the person to resubmit current bank statement unfortunately the person has withdrew some of the money then.

If you can avoid touching that money until your visa comes out AND the Ukba specifically stated that the money should be available to you in the UK, so its not just the 28days.

Like cuteemperor said its risky, but the choice is yours.

I thought of that as well but a friend told me I can take part of the money because they will only verify the genuity of the bank statement but not the balance.

If I can hear from anyone that had done that and the visa was issued or denied, I would be more than happy because I want to pay for my IHS and application fee from the money.
