If a song by Davido is currently the listeners choice and it is topping virtually every chart displacing a more original version in Runtown’s Mad Over You. The song, If, was produced by another Rave of the moment, Tekno but the story is beyond that.

Foremost I must say that the concept of buying songs is not new and it s done everywhere. The difference between every other place and Nigeria is that the writers get credit for doing their work. Tiwa Savage was once a Sony music writer and she got credit for the track “Collard Greens & Cornbread” off Fantasia Barrino’s Grammy-nominated album, Back to Me which she co-wrote. No lies no shades about it. She did her Job. Contrary to the situation in Nigeria where we all want to be seen as a genuis. I can write, sing, rap, produce, mix and master.

Tekno and himself were not really close despite a previous collaboration when Tekno was less than an upcoming artiste. The song, Holiday shot Tekno into lime light but did little to enhance their relationship. Fastforward 2016, Tekno met Davido in South Africa, where he was due to sign his contract with Sony Music. Davido as at then had issues with his contract with Sony Music. Tekno a bonafide star of his own making now and now on equal standing with Davido. They caught up on old times and they became friends.

Few weeks after, he and Tekno hooked up in at Shizzi’s studio discussing the success Runtown’s Mad Of You. Tekno started the beat framework that day. While Nigerians spend time and energy condemning witchcraft and its agents, binding and casting them and attributing any misfortune on the activities of witches and wizards, the South African Minister of Higher Education and Training, Blade Nzimande, has announced plans to have witchcraft included in the curriculum from 2018, aimed at awarding a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Witchcraft.
Nzimande made this known while speaking to representatives from student unions around the country, announcing the move and urging future university applicants to consider taking Witchcraft as a course of study.

“There is a lot we can learn from witchcraft, like how they fly in that winnowing basket. Imagine if we learn that skill; it will eradicate traffic jams and everyone will just get in their basket and fly. It also means we will not be importing fuel anymore.”

The Minister further invited renowned witches to make an appointment with his office so they can have their skills tested and those outstanding would then be hired as lecturers.

He also invited witches from across the continent to take advantage of the new course, promising them permanent residents’ permits.
“I spoke to the Minister of Home Affairs, Malusi Gigaba, and he agreed to issue witches from outside South Africa with permanent residence permits.

I heard Malawi and Zimbabwe have an impressive collection of witches. We are hoping they will heed the call.
Applications for the course, according to Nzimande, will be closing on September 30, 2016, at midnight, after which an appointed panel will conduct interviews, with an opening for 109 witches for the takeoff.

Wait! Is making it in the Nigerian music industry that hard? Funny enough it’s not, if not, there won’t be room for a Davido, Olamide, Kcee and some of our A’ List artist.

I will be sharing these tips on how to make hit songs in Nigeria with you all, as friends, because believe me, there are little things that we observe but choses to ignore. Here they come people.

1. Nigerians Love A Good Beat

While a song consist of various compartment, from the verses to the chorus, hook and the rest bla bla bla, one can’t overlook the impact, a good beat has on a song.

Please, what did Ycee say in ‘Omo Alhaji’? virtually nothing, he was just repeating the same thing over and over again. And guess what, the song was a hit, not just any hit, a MEGA HIT!

A hit that shot YCEE straight to being an A’ list artist. Are we still in doubt of the amazing prowlers of an amazing beat? Was it not in that same ‘Omo Alhaji’ beats that Jesse Jagz did an awesome rap freestyle and once again, the freestyle became a massive hit amassing hundredth of thousands downloads.

2. Have A Signature Word

Most of our A’ list artist can’t deliver a song without including their signature lines, so I guess you should join them. Please and please don’t ask me why oh….. Just believe that if it is working for them it will work for you.

Popular among them are:- Leggo is for Timaya, ‘Yes oh’ ‘nothing day happen’ for 2Baba, kokolet, ‘koko master’ for D’banj, ‘Whaysayy’ for Patoranking… See eh, I can go on and on, there are too many and I am pretty sure you know them all.

So chose your own, even if it’s ‘Agama lizard’, you want to adopt as your signature line, just stay true to it, and make sure you constantly say it in your song till even you yourself is tired of saying it.

3. Please Don’t Forget To Rhyme

Honestly, is there any hit song in Naija without a strong presence of a rhyme pattern? Just think of a hit song, and automatically the rhyme pattern comes to you. Watch out peeps for the next A’ list artist that will join the fold, the YBNL first lady Temmie, wow!! She totally understands, the rhymes impact on potential hit songs, and she filled her first single with so many of them. Chai, Temmie, even if rhymes is maggi, ‘your own too much naw’

4. Feature An A’List Artist

Now this is like the most important of them all, you can follow all the above tips, and still not make it as an A’ List artist. Why? It’s simple, your name is relatively unknown, and nobody waste their precious MB on an unknown artist.

Now imagine, the ‘Osinachi’ song without Phyno on it, there is a strong tendency that despite how good that song is, it would not have gained the necessary publicity. But Humblesmith I guess knew already of this rule, and he saved more money to add a known name to the song, and boom!! We have a hit in ‘osinachi’ and then the remix with Davido skyrockets him into the heart of almost all Nigerians.

Already, Tiwa is scheduled to perform at the Made in America Concert this September, whose headliner will be Rihanna. Maybe a collaboration between both artistes is in the offing? We can only wait and see.

Angelina Jolie Now A Professor At London School Of Economics

Hollywood star actress, Angelina Jolie has been appointed a visiting professor at the London School of Economics (LSE), one of Britain’s most prestigious universities.

According to Independent reports, she will join former foreign secretary William Hague as a lecturer at the university’s Centre for Women, Peace and Security where she will help to teach students studying for masters degree.

Jolie, who has been a goodwill ambassador for the UN Refugee Agency and is currently one of its special envoys, has been a vocal campaigner on refugee rights, and against the female genital mutilation and the use of rape as a weapon of war.

She said: ‘I am very encouraged by the creation of this master’s programme. I hope other academic institutions will follow this example, as it is vital that we broaden the discussion on how to advance women’s rights and end impunity for crimes that disproportionately affect women, such as sexual violence in conflict.

The talented rapper released a new song recently titled ‘Chike‘ featuring Mavin act, Korede Bello.

On all the artwork and graphic designs used to promote the song, the ‘famous’ Chocolate City logo was conspicuously missing.

Now, here’s the real story!

We reached out the Ice Prince’s manager of many years, Tobi Sanni Daniel, CEO of State of Mind Entertainment, who explained that ‘Ice Prince has not been in a contractual relationship with Chocolate City for the past three years’.
The rapper has been with Choc City for almost eight years now, his initial five-year contract expired three years ago, but he chose to stay with the label and not renew his contract.

Explaining further, Tobi says, ‘Just like everything in life, growth happened, there was a rise in his profile that has necessitated a rise in financial value and id very expensive for any label in Nigeria to afford and it didn’t make sense to attempt to stretch the company that far, but the last three years has been very cordial’.

He continued, ‘We chose to stay with the label even without signing papers because we understood the essence of loyalty, we are matured and we are one big family’.

Concluding, he said, ‘So let me clarify once again that no one walked out of a contract, Audu will always remain his godfather and MI Abaga will always remain his mentor’.

Popular Nollywood actress, Patience Ozokwor is now a born again christain.
The veteran in a new interview with Star Tells dishes on her new religious life, how she met God, the retreats she holds and having to ditch wearing trousers, dreadlocks and jewellery.

Famous for her ‘wicked mother-in-law’ roles, Ozokwor revealed she fasted for 30 days this year which led to a revelation.

According to her, the Lord revealed she will be a voice for him all over the world.

She said, “[Patience Ozokwor] normally organises a personal retreat for herself in the first few days of the new year, when it was time to have her 2016 retreat, she heard the voice of the Holy Spirit telling her to fast for 21 days, she complained that she have so many projects to handle, Endorsements and movies to shoot within that period, and the Lord extended it to a 30 days fast due to her complaints. During this fasting period, The Lord revealed to her, how she will be a voice for him all over the world, how people’s attention will be channeled from her image on Nollywood to The Gospel.

She said one of the things God warned her on, was her dressing and appearance. She said that Putting on Makeup, wearing Jewelry and putting on Trouser as a Lady is wrong, she said that she has been preaching to colleagues in Nollywood, but God told her to put off her Dreads, to stop wearing Jewelries and Trousers, that she could have gone to Hell, if she died December 31, 2015 despite the preaching she’s been doing, just because of her appearance.

When asked about her Nollywood life, Patience Ozokwor narrated that the Holy Spirit has not specifically directed her to quit or to not. She said that she has not shot any movie since that encounter in January, that she used to get an average of 1.5 Million Naira weekly, but that God has miraculously been providing her daily bread.

First nudist restaurant has 27,000 people on its waiting list

The Bunyadi nudist option which will be free of any form of modern trappings, including phones, electric lights and most importantly, clothing, is set to be open for three months from June 2016.

Following the revelation that a London pop up restaurant, The Buyadi, is set to launch its nudist option, the business now boasts 27, 000 people on its waiting list, weeks before it is set to open.

The Bunyadi nudist option which will be free of any form of modern trappings, including phones, electric lights and most importantly, clothing, is set to be open for three months from June 2016.

The restaurant, according to reports, now has a waiting list of more than 27,000, in comparison to its sitting capacity of forty-two while dinner will cost around £60 per person.

The Telegragh UK, while reporting the news, urges prospective diners to sign up in order to be notified when tickets go on sale, which will be sol on a “First come first served basis”.

Speaking on his new project, the owner, Seb Lyall explains:

“The Bunyadi plans to use only the most natural, home-grown ingredients to envelope its patrons in a world, free from phones, electric lights and even clothing.

“The eatery will feature wood-flame grilled food served on handmade clay plates with edible cutlery “in a space void of the industrialized-world’s modern trappings.

“We believe people should get the chance to enjoy and experience a night out without any impurities: no chemicals, no artificial colors, no electricity, no gas, no phone and even no clothes if they wish to.”

The reports reveal that diners will be encouraged to disrobe and “experience true liberation” while they enjoy a tasty menu.

Upon customers arrival, they will be escorted to a changing room, where they would be able to secure their clothes and belongings in lockers in exchange for a light gown.

It is finally left to them to remove the final item of clothing at the tables which will be partly obscured by bamboo screens, creating a semblance of privacy, while large napkins will handed out to prevent unfortunate burns.

The Bunyadi which will be in central London, is yet to disclose the specific location.

American-Nigerian media personality, Raro Lae caught up with music producer Sarz, known famously as being, “Sarz on The Beat“, at SM Productions Studio and got he to spill never heard exclusives on the Raro Lae Show.

While on the show, Sarz reveals how his stage name, ‘Starz’ comes about, being the problem child growing up and how he gained his parents support. When asked about his favorite thing about the music industry states, ‘ That what people leave work to do for fun, I do for a living” on the contrary, his least favorite thing was “the fakeness in the industry.

Sarz confirmed that he produced Wizkid and Jidenna’s new single, as well as Wizkid and Chris Brown’s new single, that is set to drop this upcoming summer! (This begins at 5:48 in the interview) They also have a lot of surprises on the way, and have been spending a lot of time in L.A., but the two are working in silence.

Raro Lae also got the exclusive that Sarz did some major work on a major U.S. artists album. But we can’t say anything just yet!

airport Worker Destroys Plane After Losing Job

A man has been caught on CCTV destroying a plane with the help of a large digger after losing his temper over being fired by his employer.
The unidentified man had reportedly lost his temper after his employer had fired him at the Russian airport, resorting to his basic instincts as a way to vent.

The video clip which had been posted on Live leak, shows a large digger smashing into the aircraft over and over again, successfully ripping a large hole in the bodywork.

The aircraft appears to be a Yak-40, a small, three-engined airliner, that obviously belongs to UTair.
The reports suggest that the man had been taking revenge on the company after his employment had been terminated.

We have just confirmed from an inside source that pleads anonymity that the whole Teebillz drama and attempted suicide is true.

Already reports have gone out that Teebillz who is allegedly going through depression reportedly attempted to commit suicide by jumping off the Lekki-Ikoyi toll bridge this morning after his Instagram rant.

We also got word that it reportedly took the timely intervention of Banky W and Peter Okoye, joined by passersby, to pull him off the bridge and subsequently delete the Instagram posts off his mobile phone.

According to an eye-witness Chukwuma Ani who spoke to blogger, Linda Ikeji, ‘Around past 9 this morning while driving on the Lekki-Ikoyi toll bridge, a car hit me from behind. I came out of the car and approached the driver of the vehicle. I didn’t know who the man was (it was Teebillz). The man looked at me and told me to leave, that he was there for a reason. That he was planning to commit suicide’

The eye-witness continued to say, ‘I thought I was watching a movie. The man held the railing and tried to jump over it and that was when the yellow man held him and started shouting for help. The two of them nearly fell into the water. I quickly joined the yellow man to pull the guy out and while we were struggling with him, one Psquare twin (Peter Okoye) and Banky W joined us to pull the man out’.
