PoliticsCan You Sacrifice Your Life To Save Nigeria by ePAYSYSTEM(op): 10:04pm On Jun 04, 2010
Sacrifice could mean giving out something to or for something. In most cases, something sacrificed is no longer obtained or retrievable. If it happens that the Nigerian State needs just one life to make everything back to normalcy, would you boldly sacrifice your life, yes and say : Nigerian people I accept to be killed or eaten by wild animals, or, to save Nigeria from colapse and have back the glory of a good country?

You may or you may not but lets see how far you can give to help Nigeria get better!

PoliticsWhich Nigerian Paper Carries The Most Lie And Which Carries The Most Truth? by ePAYSYSTEM(op): 9:38pm On Jun 04, 2010
If you read papers these days, you'll observe that some Newspapers, Magazines, bulletines, etc are embedded in falsehood. Some are owned by certain politicians to sell false information or alerm to the public and the governemnt stand aloof.

Have you ever read a paper and find such lies? Did you observe its the same on regular bases for the same paper? Are their those you'll love to petronize even with your last kobo because there's always the truth inside?

Lets get your experience!

PoliticsRe: Should Nairaland Be Sold To Nigerian Government? by ePAYSYSTEM(op): 9:20pm On Jun 04, 2010
My friend Osama, its not a stupid idea! Here, we interact, we learn, we laugh, we share opinions, we are creative. The moment we stop all these, we die. So it would be creative of you to think of having a platform that even the governemtn would love to purchse. No body is selling Nairaland, yes, at least not me, am not the owner. But we look at can Nigerian young mind develop ideas like this that would rate high even in the eye of the govt.

Please dont corrupt the mind of the average NLder who wish to share a positive view.

Thanks, my friend!

PoliticsWhy Is The Price Of Fuel Down? by ePAYSYSTEM(op): 9:09pm On Jun 04, 2010
We experience in Nigeria a long time of high cost of all petroleum products despite living in country where these products come from, in a country where these product's production and transportation rob our farmers good yeild. Nevertheless, with the new presidency, the prices of all petroleum products significantly came down within a few weeks and still going down the more. Do you think this change in price is as a result of the new president, the crew, the policy, or what?

Your opinion may just be all we need to make a better tommorrow for Nigeria, our country
Thanks!

With clear feeling about the state of the nation we call our own and with sincere interest on serving our fatherland. With deep love for the land of our birth and with the understanding that no wrong can remain permanent, what are the wrong things you would have loved to right in Nigeria assuming you have the leadership mantle of the presidency?

Lets have a good time from you!

With the state of affairs, it has become no more news that President Jonathan will run for 2011 election for presidency. The president has also preached so much about a free and fair election where "EVERY VOTE COUNTS".

With all the speculations about the power of incumbency aside, do you think on a good day, Dr. Jonathan would win his election as the president come 2011?

Lets enjoy your views!

Nairaland is today's most populous website in nigeria. Following the great name and popularity it has earned these days, the government of Nigeria look for information through active agents in Nairaland. Should the offer come to SEUN to sell Nairaland to the government as a means of obtaining public opinion and reaching the people with information, would you suggest to him to accept? Do you think it would be of benefit and interest to Nairalanders, to you? What do you think would go wrong if government takes over? what do you think would be better done if same happens?

Let us hear your opinion!

CrimeAbia Under Seige Now! by ePAYSYSTEM(op): 1:49pm On Jun 03, 2010
The date was Friday the 21st of May, 2010 and the city of Aba in Abia State stood still in salute to up to 30 heavy armed men. Their mission? To hijack the Bullion Van carrying millions of Naira from intercontinental Bank Osisioma branch to another location.

The Story:
On that faithful day, the robbers who were dressed in Army regalia divided themselves into 3 groups. Group 1 stationed themselves inside the Osisioma Community at the junction just in case the van would take a different course. Group 2 was stationed behind the Intercontinental Bank just in front of Osisioma deport of the NNPC to signal the 3rd group when the van leaves the bank. The 3rd group was significantly stationed at the main PH-Enugu express way junction with Osisioma. Their mission was to destabilize the ATS policemen at the junction. The ATS before then was thought to be notorious to criminals and terrorists.

Some minuets after stationing themselves, the bullion van took off. Accordingly, the group at the bank alerted those at the junctions. At once, they opened fire on their opponents the ATS and suppressed them. Nobody knew why, the Bullion Van driver diverted to another lonely route. Even the mobile police men following him were amazed at his decisions. He said he suspected a bad day. The robbers lost their target and missed the money.

Armed with rage and heavy machine guns, the robbers declared an open war on all the banks along that Osisioma community road. They shut for 4 hours killing an ATS policeman and taking 2 captive (Alive) till today. In the past, when these guys take the police or Army captive like that, they release them with 2 ears cut off or tongue removed at the tip. The robbers then took their time to break in to the whole 6 banks there. Too bad for the banks and Nigerian security system.

New Discovery:
That incidence led to a new discovery –that the ATS deployed to forestall security is not anything but weak, un-equipped, corrupt dummies in security uniform. They only centre their interest on collecting money from motorists.

Just 7 days after, the robbers shut again for 3 hrs robbing 2 banks AFRIBANK and FIRSTBANK without any counter attack.
But, the incident of yesterday was so hard to believe by many onlookers. It was just like a war film. The robbers barged into Firstbank, Ecobank, and Fidelity at PH road, Aba. They purposely destroyed the bank premises and took away millions of Naira.

The Security in Nigeria has worsened:
Abia state has the ATS, the joint Army and Police squad, the Bakkassi Vigilante, and the Civil Defense corps. They all carry guns and prey strength against the thieves. Despite all these, the state leaves the citizens with fear of the next minute.

Can you imagine this:

1. The robbers wrote a letter to Firstbank demanding a certain payment in exchange for physical visitation. Due day, Firstbank refused to work. These guys now came the day they opened for work and decided to still take the money and destroy the bank.
2. The robbers have written a letter to the Central Police Station (CPS) to be ready for them. The CPS is where money is brought to with Helicopter before it is driven to the banks. Following the receipt of the letter of attack, CPS is now under heavy lock. Most policemen no longer appear in the office.
3. There are similar letters written to selected possible richmen in the state. Some pay, some are willing to pay with their lives. This is worse than kidnapping.

Under the above conditions, what can we do?
• Who are the robbers?
• Where do they live?
• Does it mean the govt does not have a solution for this long time treat to the people and the state?
• Can it be said that the police’ collection of N20 and N50 affect their agility and smartness in fishing out these guys who also use the public roads?
• Who tells them when money is leaving where?
• If you were a security personnel, what route would you take to tackle this menace?
• Who write these letters? I guess graduates! Would creating more jobs stop this kind of crime?

The reason we need to know more of how to solve this problem is that when it starts with Abia, it enters other states.

Well lets see!

Zenithbank Vs Nairaland: What The Eye Doesnt See, The Mind Doesnt Grieve About

Nairaland GeneralZenithbank Vs Nairaland: What The Eye Doesnt See, The Mind Doesnt Grieve About by ePAYSYSTEM(op): 9:02pm On May 27, 2010
The Matter with Zenith Int'l Bank banning Nairaland is gaining a lot of talks within and outside the bank. I was privileged to ask some IT staff in Head office about this and they hinted that the move is not just for Nairaland but also aimed towards all social networks that gain popularity in Nigeria like Facebook, etc.

Nevertheless, Zenithbank was able to mention some reasons for doing this. The Source some of these reasons as paramount:

To reduce work distractions

It robs the company of man hours

It slows down connection

It is fast becoming a trend

Falsehood is now painted to have adverse effect on the staff.

More especially, it steers bad feelings and causes quarrel and job dissatisfaction among staff.

According to them, the information passed about some organizations are twisted by posters who do not have all the details to the point that it creates biased mind. At some points, it leads to staff not putting his best. Understand that some staff would not agitate the salary slash on the grounds that they still have a job and hopes to get better tomorrow. But certain posting on social media leads to envy, jealousy, bickering, and divisions. More over, it leads to anger.

But consider this:
I don’t work with ZB, yes! But how would you feel if you own a transport company. Today your drivers as they were coming to the office saw a group of people going to a far distance and decided to take them at a charge. At the end, they were only able to report turning trips instead of the usual 5 each day. They had told you there were no passengers. You may believe this.

But what if someone proves to you that these guys do outside runs with your vehicles, your own fuel, you fix the vehicles with parts, pay the maintenance charges, etc. Worse still, they do not ever mention or remit any cash as coming out of any external business with the vehicles.

ZB know the effect of the ROI of their internet access and also what it means when staff use time meant for work to do outside (personal) runs. Imagine doing blog business with office internet at office hours.
PoliticsYaradua, Rimi's Death: Nigerian Hospitals Death Trap For The Poor! by ePAYSYSTEM(op): 8:35am On May 06, 2010
Permit me if you do not understand the relationship in my posting. You may ask, what is the relationship between Rimi and Yaradua's death and the hospitals in Nigeria?

RIMI:
Abubakar Rimi happened to be the first Civilian Governor for the old Kano State. He lived in the state, governed the state, saw the state in the eye of the press. Among other things, he saw how the poor was dieying everyday in old delapidated and substandard hospitals in the state. Reports came to him about the failures and unhelping situations in the state. He was aware that the drugs found in the hospitals in the state are not effective for emergency situations.

Rimi also knew that there is great need to create jobs. He knew of attacks by the youth because they look for what to eat and survive. His wife was strbbed to death. He was also aware that the matter of unemployment was never taken care of in his state. He voted for serious attack on the Niger Delta's Terrorists. If he had lived more days, he would still have known more and kept quiet.

Let us just look at somethng about his death:
"he was caught up in a robbery on the highway on his way back to Kano and even though he was NOT physically attacked or hurt, the shock of the entire episode triggered an apparent chain of health issues that necessitated his hospitalization a short time after his arrival in Kano and he subsequently died in the hospital". 247next.com

Rimi was attacked by armed robbers in Kano Sunday while returning from the eldest daughter’s wedding. Though unharmed, he was said to have suffered a heart attack and died shortly after on the way to a hospital. He was taken to a major state owned hospital in Kano State -the state he ruled for years but there was no stretcher to take him on. By the time manual efforts were pulled together he had gone too far. You can immagine the stress associated to this. The medication was also to minimal for the emergency of his final hours of his life. He finally died less to his imagination of the day as he woke up early in the morning.

Earlier, when he was the state Governor, he may have thought the hospitals belonged to only the poor whose lives are worthless. Sorry! He never thought of nature not allowing him time to obtain an emergency VISA for health care abroad.

YARADUA:
I'll not say much here because the event is still fresh even, though it has taken long time to conclude. Yaradua was very much aware of the deplorable state of the hospitals in the Nation State. He did nothing untill he had to die. He allowed Nigerian Doctors to go on strike several times all because he thought he would not need their services. Today he is dead. Believe it or not, he would have been better taken care of here if we had better hospitals in Nigeria with well paid doctors.

If these great men who could seek medical assistance elsewher could die even with the attention given or not given, think about the average Nigerian who goes to those rejected hospitals. think about those who go to quarks because they lack money.

Please Governors and GJ, its time to sober up and think about the People of this antion Healthwise. emergency is nobody's friend. It may result that those rejected hospitals may be the end of the road for you.

Its time to think positive and do the right thing.
PoliticsWould Ya'radua Have Died If He Had Remained In The Classroom As A Versity Don? by ePAYSYSTEM(op): 7:27am On May 06, 2010
I have been following blogs and forums since last night on the death of the former President of Nigeria. I've actually seen that Nigerians are sentimental people even, though we have very strong minded few. Some Nigerians I read their posts online belong to the group that did not want Ya'Radua to die but do not also want him to live-to-rule. Many simply do not understand why his death makes sense -after all, it will neither better nor worsen their ordeals of the day. This time, lets keep our feelings apart and centre our interest on the need to think life and service first.

What the eye doesn't see, the mind doesn't grieve about. People say that Yaradua was greedy. Some others say that Turai (the wife) misled him into death. Yes great majority thinks Obj is the writer of this script that almost all Nigerians are watching its movie today. They see Obj as writing yet another but horrourful movie planned to unfold before 2011. Something of all these accusations must be truth at least in a relative sense.

But leadership devoid of greed should not be a Terran that leads to death. Where it threatens life, a sane person will see calamity and conceal himself. This our leaders fail to acknowledge. Yaradua was doing fine as a University Professor of Chemistry. He had many more years for him to raise a Nigerian Youth that would love him. He would have had more time to develop the young minds for a better research that would lead Nigeria up front. His life may not have been a gamble specimen (or so I think). But today he is gone. The University where he taught last belong to the shelter of those who join the morning family. His colleagues and friends back there and them still remains.

So what do you think: IF YARADUA HAD FORGOTTEN THE MASS WEALTH POSSIBLE IN NIGERIAN POLITICS AND STICK TO HIS EARNINGS AS A UNIVERSITY CAREER PERSON, WOULD HE HAVE DIED?
ALSO THINK ABOUT:
The Cause of his death -both long and shortrun
The environment of his existence
The stress of Governance
The Control from externals
The Disturbance of Conscience
The quest to remain
The Pressure of friends and family
The lies against him
The truth about his errors

I chose to ask this question to raise the mind of Nigerians on the need to continue in the line of consistency and never swerve to a negative course simply because others are there.
