SportsRe: Halleluyah: Mikel Obi Joins Chelsea! by epetoke(m): 11:53am On Jun 04, 2006
I agree with many others on this thread that Mikel could find that his time at Chelsea may be more of a spectator than a player. Jose Maurihno is a man with very little patience and is also under extreme amounts of pressure to produce results, if Mikel doesn't win over the very demanding chelsea fans very quickly he will be overlooked for first team selection.

I think Mikel should have gone to a club that actually needs a young man with his talent. Abramovich's chelsea are notorious for killing talented players off.
WebmastersInternet Advertising Networks In Nigeria? by epetoke(op): 11:43am On Jun 04, 2006
Hello all,

As I don't live in Nigeria and don't frequent too many Nigerian web sites I am not familiar with the Internet advertising landscape in Nigeria.

As I have a commercial interest in internet affiliate advertising here in the UK i am eager to find out what Internet advertising networks exist in Nigeria if any.

I know for sure that the top 10 internet advertising networks that operate in the UK don't have a presence in Africa at all let alone Nigeria.

Can anyone help fill me in on the Internet advertising sector in Nigeria please. Links to sites or whatever info you can divulge on the topic will be appreciated.
ProgrammingRe: Php Is For Code Hackers by epetoke(m): 11:34am On Jun 04, 2006
Basically i gat a chance to do some PHP stuff recently and i am just not impressed. I mean its so difficult to artitect an app very well and i found myself just hacking away writing code that smells. The OOP is just not powerful enough and i can seem to apply some of my lovely design patterns. This experience makes my appreciate Java which is my primary development language more and more.
Sorry but have to disagree with you. A serious browse of the internet will reveal that there is a php equivilent to any type of web site in existance ( apart from say banking web sites who generally don't use open source technology ). So unless you have got a contract to build an application for online banking i cannot see why you can't use php. btw what type of application are you trying to build? Are there any functions that you are finding difficult to build using php? Please post them.

Just found this kewl web site and joined after trawling through several interesting posts. My name is Eke Okeke, a Nigerian living and working in London. I've been here for almost 20 years and worked in the IT sector for 6 of those years. My background is in programming ( mainly in C, perl and php ) and i specialise in development of complex database driven internet applications. A couple of years ago I got tired of writing code for other companies so decided to break out on my own. I now have a number of Internet properties including an advertising network serving the UK internet sector.

I am sure everyone will hear a lot from me on these forums in the days, weeks and months to come. It's a very good site and congratulations to the founder.
