You are correct. Aketi desperately needed a united APC to win this election. And I commend his wisdom for putting ego aside to make peace with the Unity Forum faction of the party in the state. Tinubu was the real brain behind that rapproachment and reconciliation because most of the unity Forum Chieftains are Tinubu loyalists (from Olusola Oke, to Segun Abraham, to Kekemeke, to Boroffice). And Aketi showed his appreciation by inviting him to commission the Ondo Internal Revenue building.

Aketi really did well in allowing unity to flourish with the APC camp, unlike the opposition which fought with a divided house. An alliance between Jegede and Agboola Ajayi could have given Aketi a big headache but they were both egocentric. Congratulations in advance to Aketi!

His god maybe mammon, so as usual, money will see him through when he buys the people to vote for him.

The contest is clearly between Aketi and Jegede.
Akure South and Owo will cancel themselves. The other local sixteen local governments will decide the winner.

If Aketi eventually wins this election, the opposition will have themselves to blame.

I will just mention two. The road linking Okitipupa with Irele which Agagu almost completed before he was sent packing by the Appeal court. That bridge was almost 80% completed. For good eight years, he did touch that project.

The Ondo state University of science and technology in Okitipupa, he didn't spend kobo on that university.

Why on earth will you compare Ondo and Ogun, they are thousand of miles apart.
Mimiko knew that Ondo state couldn't finance three universities at a go, he sited that university in his hometown for selfish reasons. He could have upgraded the other two but he didn't, Mimiko was so vindictive and wicked during his time in government.
