phemy1230: just arrived SA, lovely country, full of trees, very very cold and my friends are laughing at me even though they say it's summer, the stories I heard about immigration been harsh to Nigerians were different, my hotel reservation was just looked at and no call, my yellow card was ignored and i spent only 3 minutes with her, maybe it's the airline I went with, smooth flight.....but guys make sure you are confident of the docs you are giving them as what they really deal with is your body language, it's not a do or die to go to SA but it's fun....have fun Phemy are you in johannesburg, got here Monday, bak to Naija on saturday morning. |

afelouz: Lol. Because Nigerians claims to visit and never return. Too many Nigerians without valid visa, study or work permit. Nigerians has gone as far as corrupting the SA police and immigrations so They take bribe so far you can 'make a plan' As for payment, i sent money to my friend who paid on my behalf and supplied the hotel my details Alright, thanks bro, im thinking of going to wakanow and paying through them, hopefully i wont have issues since it would be paid and i would personally call the hotel afterwards to verify payment. :d |

afelouz: Make sure you have a paid hotel booking and print the invoice along too for the payment. Also call the hotel before leaving d airport in naija to confirm your booking to make sure its paid for. If not u are coming back home straight!! Also, as far as I know, gtbank card does work so buy your rands before leaving naija. Since you are going to write an exam, take a prove along. The immigrations are strictly mad. The day i landed all nigerian passport holders were taken to the investigation room straight and many were returned back to lagos bcoz of hotel reservations Thanks bro, i would try doing the payment then, kindly state how you did your payments tho. Thanks. But then why are they making the rules soo strict just to get into SA. sigh* |

So i got the visa yesterday after 8 working days, have got an exam in southy upper week, should be there for about a week, do i now need to pay for hotel before i get to the port of entry, plus the issue with most nigerian cards and foreign transactions doesnt make things easy at the moment. Also apart from a return ticket and yellow fever card with my passport, do i need to present any other documents at the port tho?
Thanks in advance |
