Erudite190:
Good evening everyone,
I must say that I have benefited from many contribution here and I appreciate every person that gave out wonderful ideas on this forum. Thank you all.
I started following this forum from its inception, but my first account got blocked, hence I had to open another one. I have learnt a lot here that kept me kicking despite the challenges I have been facing since I finished nysc last 3yrs.
I'm the first son, from a family of five (5), and my parents bled amidst painful suffering to see that I went to the university. To pay my school fees was the main topic on the table back then, feeding was hardly considered. While struggling in school with little or no food most of the time, I developed stomach ulcer which was tormenting me throughout my stay in school. Nevertheless, to God's glory, I still graduated with 2.1 ( from a federal University).
On graduating, my entire family were very happy when I was posted to Lagos State for service. My mother gave Thanksgiving with regard to my posting. I too believed that God has answered my mother's midnight weeping. I started applying for jobs while I was still serving, bearing in mind the burden on my head.
After service, the secondary school where I served asked me to stay with them; considering that I haven't gotten a better offer, I accepted it pending whenever I get a better one. My father died last 2yrs and the burden on my head became so much that I was suffocating trying to take care of my younger ones with #30,000 I receive monthly from the school I'm teaching. Last year, my younger brother dropped out of school and joined me here in Lagos, with brotherly understanding, we agreed that he was going to learn Cell phone engineering (repair) and he learnt everything with humility and hardworking for 8months.
Last quarter last year, in addition to what I learnt here while we were hoping for a better outcome regards NNPC recruitment, I enrolled in computer engineering (repair) and programming packages. When NNPC called, I was not among, but I was partly happy because my friend who stood with me since we met here in Lagos was among the successful ones.

Last month, I used what was left from my savings to rent a small space in a nearby street so that my younger brother and I will start fixing cell phones and laptops for people, but we are now stuck without further progress because we couldn't afford the necessary apparatus that will enable us start operating. The indispensable items including, Generator, Rework Station, Meter, Screen Separator, Booster etc
Please, in any way you can be of help to us assist me and my brother; if we should wait further until I save some money it will take much time because we hardly eat from what I get monthly let alone sending money to my mother and younger siblings.
If it's one or two out of the equipment you can buy for us, God will bless you immensely.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Good morning everyone,
For some time now, NL has been one of my sources of strength and inspiration. Although, I hardly post or comment, but I read a lot here and the wisdom of many NL users has kept me kicking in spite of the challenges I have been facing since I finished nysc last 3yrs.

The Race has been Set,
To everyone that has gotten the success mail/sms, you have been called to become a better person to yourself, your family, community and our dear country, Nigeria. I urge you to always remember the promises you made to yourself and your God while struggling for this wonderful opportunity; don't throw any single one of your promises away in the process...a brief reflection, at intervals, on the days of little beginning is very important on a man's journey to greatness.

To those that didn't get it (even if some people might still be called tomorrow/Monday), the best we could give ourselves right now is to sit up on our chair and redesign our plans, because the race is more fierce on us. I mean do it right this moment that we're still angry, one shouldn't wait until tomorrow, exhaust that energy of anxiety on your diary or laptop, and when you're done writing, save it permanent somewhere and go to bed. Wake up tomorrow and start working on whatever you have genuinely designed from now till the next 6months and see what would become of it. Don't give a damn to people who will start telling you how bad the country is and how you can't make it here or elsewhere; work with confidence and courage, and don't let hope off your mind at any moment. We definitely have learnt something very important during this process, which certainly will catalyse one's progress in whatever one would engage oneself henceforth.

Meanwhile, congratulations to all the successful ones, and congratulations to us that will take on a new direction right from this moment. May God bless us all.

Finally, @Sir Jarus and any other persons that might have good contribution to this serious case. My friend got this job, but he has left to Germany for his MSc, right now he is in serious confusion, whether to come back and take the job, or to reject it and continue his MSc programme. NNPC is his dream place of work, which makes the whole stuff more complicated, if it were to be any other offers outside NNPC, he wouldn't have given the idea of coming back a serious thought.
Please Jarus and the rest, your well thought professional advice...thanks in anticipation.

What will be will surely be!
Whether or not one believes in any supernatural being is at one's freedom, but the truth is, every individual has at some points encountered situations where he/she discovers that such situations are just beyond human. At such, the best is to render oneself unto HOPE - hope that it still will get better, because to hold the contrary is a step towards suicide or any form of regrettably actions. Hope itself is like a supernatural being, because amidst hope is where most believers find the voice of whatever they address as their god/God. Therefore, hope is indispensable where there is life!

Gentle men & ladies, it's a step towards life to remain hopeful, here or outside here... moreover, it's natural to be inquisitive about the outcome of something one has invested energy in it; until this result is out, no one who has invested in this recruitment could comfortably turn his/her back at it without looking back, unless gotten a much better offer.
Meanwhile, it isn't rational to pin blames on anybody here whatsoever bearing in mind that at some points things just go out of human's control. Even when we think that we are in control of such situations, suddenly we discover that we aren't - that's what is called life, uncertainties! Always think twice before you make your points; know well that what you drop here may have some impact in someone's life.

Lastly, you can take everything away from a man, but don't deprive him of HOPE.
Thank you.
