For someone to have a website that has 1000 daily traffic it means the person is using it for business and the user has content that people are coming on there to get, websites are not social media accounts bro even if you can get a magician to get it for you I don't think you will see anybody who will sell it to you for less that a million it would be best you find someone who can build a website and get your own content that will get traffic

By the way if you need a website built mreseosa.com is my website
Cheers

My very first commercial software I ever built was bought & paid for. I have never built or coded anything for a business for free till date.

I actually got referred by a colleague of mine who knew then, I programmed for fun (Non-commercial), cuz den if I build stuff, I show my colleagues, so they were aware dat dis dude na programmer. When opportunity came he called and said, "...are u still doing those ur programming stuff....abeg come, business dey".
Alright But you were lucky enough to be in such environment, not everybody is that blessed
ProgrammingRe: How Web Developers Are Being Taken Advantage Off by eseosa101(op): 4:22pm On Oct 10, 2024
The way I see it is when starting out you can build one or two for them for referrals and you start searching for real clients but after that working for free is a huge red flag

Nice write up

Nigerian web devs dey try oo. Building web app wey more than 5 devs in the Western world dey work on to make it deliver service with little downtime. Yet, with the many devs bugs still dey occur

I wonder why you're sad you keep coming across bugs in the project. It's just only you and you went to an unfamiliar area.

I recently took a paid Scala project issue I'm trying to resolve. Me that had very little experience in Scala but I see it as been curious and it will pays my bill in the end.

I've come across lots of bugs trying to resolve the issue and might still come across more but I'm not bothered

If I even see project that requires COBOL I'll take it as long I'll get paid and it's interesting moving through unfamiliar area in tech
Thanks bro,
As for the project I learnt something new but I didn't take it because I was motivated the guy that wanted the project genuinely didn't know what he wanted,he didn't even have a business name so it was obvious this won't go anywhere and as for taking up a project out of curiosity I feel it works when you have been in the industry for a while, personally I haven't been building websites for up a year.

I just created my first website and I need as much criticism as possible so I can get better. The website is actually a portfolio website created with HTML, css and JavaScript.

Please remove the space after vercel and dot app. Waiting for your reply. Thanks
Alright then, the hamburger menu when active should pop out from the rest of the content on your page, it just looks like the text is colliding with the menu. You can go about this in 3 ways the most popular is to make the menu the full height and width of the viewport so when the menu slides in it looks as though it's a completely new page, the second option is to have a div with a color of black and opacity of 50% that activates when the menu is active then the div will be higher than the content of the page but not the menu, this is called an overlay and you can do that with z-index but I normally wouldn't advise this unless you're already pretty good and know how to use css properly to avoid unwanted styling issues and the last and the simplest is to give the menu a shadow and a different color from that of the page

The there is the highlighting with a different color, you don't really want to do this as it distracts the reader and in most cases confuses them you want to do this for important text to learn how to properly use colours I would advise that you check out "Realtime colours" and see how they use the primary colour on their website

Your icons that are within divs aren't centered properly in those divs the trick I like to use is to create a div put the icon within it, add border and border radius then just add padding so no need for much styling

Then the publications section I would advise that you have a separate blog.html page that links to different blogs because I'm finding myself scrolling through 6 different blogs before getting to the contact me section normally I should just see a list of 3 of your most recent blog post the there well be a see more button i say this because at some point you will have more than 20 articles and nobody will stick around to scroll forever

Then the padding is too much bro on larger screens it's manageable but on small screens it's just not acceptable, padding: 20px 5px; never hurt anybody

And lastly, Baba add some animations you're using css add those transitions. There is something about subtle animations that just make the website alot more professional and slick

But it's a nice one it looks mature and by far better than alot of portfolio's I have seen on here, cheers bro

I honestly consider portfolio website a waste.

Nobody will ask you for that, better to build other stuffs.

But it's still cool tho. Weldone.
I actually built it to challenge myself so when I look back at how much I learnt it's really worth it, but I get where you're coming from because people really care about your projects, thank you
