bridgesjnr:not everyone sir - scotthugsstar@yahoo.com. Huge Thanks |
baddest095:Use the task manager to check the app consuming your CPU. Open the task manager, click on processes and double click the Top of the CPU column twice. The processes will then be filtered with the highest at the top. You can right click and select "end process" or you can select properties to get more info about the process. |
tall2ce:CLUE: "hot temperature" and this is how you treat it. Let the system cool down normally then power it up. Open task manager, click on processes then click on top of the column that has CPU twice. this will sort the program with the highest CPU usage first. Try terminating the program by right-clicking and select "end program". Then wait to see if the CPU still heats up. Some apps I have encountered like the stubborn "NTVDM" are responsible for this sluggishness of the PC. And here is how it works. - the app starts and triggers the PC to allocate as much CPU as it can to it. This in turn makes the CPU attain it's processing threshold and within a short while, it starts heating. In some cases you hear the fan whirling at full speed but this is sometimes not enough to cool the PC down. Then the PC start slowing down. Another reason is when the cooling fan area is clogged with dust. So the fan can no longer blow out the heat and this accumulate in large amount hence, causing the processor to heat up and slow processing. FIX: Get a technician to carefully clean the unit and blow out dust. |
Yinbanjonic:Press the windows key + R. A small dialogue box will pop up. Type "cleanmgr" without the quotes. It will ask u to select the disk you want to clean if you have multiple partitions. If you don't, it loads for a while and displays another dialogue box. Check all the items and select OK. If you are using Windows 8 and above, u can also disable unwanted start up programs through the task manager. For windows 7 and below, u can download any 3rd party software to do the workaround. You can also defragment the hard disk but I strong recommend this if and only you have been using the computer everyday for over 6 months (not playing music and videos but working on files and transferring documents). Another fix is reinstalling the windows. Some experts will argue you try running antivirus software but if this virus have modified system files, there is nothing the antivirus can do. It deletes the virus - yes but it doesn't revert the changes the virus has made to those files. NOTE: Antivirus are made to protect viruses from modifying system files. That's why u install them in the first place right? Pre-emptive strategy. YOU SEE! Finally, when your hard disk begin to fail, a good sign is when it starts getting slow. If it's the factory fitted hard disk and you've been using it for over 2 years, the I recommend it's time for change. Not APC kind. Lols. Just Joking. |
Henrique4real:Try detach any removable devices (USB) connected to the system. It's also possible your boot sequence has been altered and worst case senerio, hard disk failure. I suggest you contact a technician as guiding you through the diagnostic process will be cumbersome. |
Misterdhee1:I haven't experienced this yet. But when I googled the *.dll file, I found this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AvwDvjQSe-8 I think it should help. DISCLAMER: Kindly note this is not a confirmed but a possible fix and neither nairaland nor I should be held responsible if anything goes wrong. Thank You |
neemortah:Several issues can result to this behaviour. Probably some pressure enough to cause this was applied on the laptop while it was closed. If this pressure is evenly dissipated, it won't crack the screen but most times, plane white display. Power on the laptop, close the screen slowly while looking at the display, try opening it slowing too. You might just be lucky to find the right angle that works. If not, i'll recommend you visit the nearest technician. |
tomzeenero:Well, I don't know the minimum requirement of the stated game but you can try giving the game high priority with task manager. This will automatically allocate a relatively large amount of RAM, CPU and GRAPHICS to the game. |
horllamy:You cannot UPGRADE from 32bit to 64bit. What you can do is fresh installation. |
I think when it comes to data recovery, it's 50/50 and highly technical. You can attest to that which is probably why you said "We are reliable because we will not charge you if we don't fix your storage devices problem or recover data from them". They are thousand of software both free and paid that can perform data recovery. But what these software cannot is take a platter from a hard drive that is making the clicking sound, and put it on a working hard drive then rip the data off. YOU GET THE PICTURE RIGHT! CLUE: the clicking sound being heard is as a result of a failed actuator making the read/write head unable to move through the completely. So when the actuator tries to move, it get stuck, returns to 0 position and tries again. The continuous trials result to the clicking heard. FACT: Doable? YES! AFFORDABLE? Not Everybody |
