Prophet T.B Joshua, the founder and General Overseer of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, SCOAN, has revealed what the people should expect after the coronavirus lockdown.
The cleric said God told him that hard times will follow immediately after the lockdown, advising everyone to cut their coat according to their cloth.

Speaking during a live service on Emmanuel TV on Sunday, T.B Joshua said people around the world should get ready for life after the COVID-19 lockdown.
Joshua said that those who adjust to the new condition of things will be able to overcome and those who are unable to adjust will go by the level of their challenges, with downfall and death being the endpoint.

“If you don’t get your job back or you don’t get a proper job or a full-time job or you run into loss or lose a loved one after this lockdown, don’t despair; don’t doubt your Guard.

“God is about to establish you. Ask any successful man or woman and they will tell you about how much disappointment and setback they had to endure to come to a new level in life.
For many, it was a sack letter, an accusation, a petition against them and they lost their job – but today they are established. I want to believe the similar signs I am seeing now will happen to many while others may lose loved ones or run into loss.

“I can see beyond many of our situations at hand. That is why I am telling you that behind that situation lies your future. After the lockdown, whatever disappointment you will receive or whatever happens – think deeply and you will see the reason this is happening to you.

“Remember, many successful people today once had the same experience and they were moved to a higher level in life thereby.
Ordinarily, you would not want to leave your position or status and say you want to establish yourself without a situation like this.

“Something must happen – and that seems to be happening now. Sometimes God allows situations like this – I mean disappointment or something more serious – so that you can take your proper position and possessions. Sometimes it is to enable you to get to where you belong. I know where I belong!

“What is your dark moment? It may be to make you see clearly where you belong, I mean to prepare you for your future. I know where I belong! It is time to know where you belong; that is why all this is happening now.

“Don’t forget everything big starts little. If something big starts big, it calls for concern.

“Starting little with a sincere heart is evidence that you will grow. Everything genuine likes to start little. You have to be ready to start little, cut your coat according to your cloth and endure temporary pain.

“You know what I mean – the type of life you live must be in accordance with little. It may cause you to withdraw from the city to a rural life or to do away with some of your properties.

“You will have them back at the right time but let them go now for preparation to grow. Many things you have now may not be necessary for the journey, may not be relevant to the situation that is coming. Let them go and believe this word you are hearing. It is a word from God.

“Ask your family members to cut their coat according to their clothes. If any of them was living big before, they have to prepare to adjust now to the situation that is coming. Check your store and bring out the things you may need to sell. Right now, you need to be living modestly.

“Women that married men because of affluence or men that married women because of affluence – divorce should not be the order of the day. We just need to adjust.

“You may likely need some new friends because not all of your friends will be able to cope and adjust. The future is still there but only calls for adjustment.

“Many things we are seeing now will go and many new things will come. If you know you got anything by injustice, such will not be able to stand.

“Whatever you might have received by injustice will go. It is only our genuine sweat that will see us through while nature is ready to take its course. God just started this judgment somewhere. It will soon get to me; it will soon get to you. Let us be ready.

“All that I am saying does not mean you are down but this is just what has come in our own time. Every age has its own challenges. People of yesterday had their own challenges in a different way.

“Others have gone through so-called challenges in their own way. Today, those who adjust will be able to overcome and those who are unable to adjust will go by the level of their challenges – down, fall, death.

“Something must happen every 100 years to affect the whole world. This is what has happened in our own lifetime. It has been like that for generations. Those who respond to the demands of the age will end up as overcomers, victors, winners.

“However, those who fail to respond to the demands appropriately will eventually go down with the times, either by disappointment, failure, death. It is unchangeable; it must happen.

“The nature of the challenge may be different. Irrespective of how it happened, the nation that caused it, the person that caused it – it had to happen; something just had to cause it.

“By the ending of June to the first week of July, this will begin to become a point of reference: ‘This man said this; that man said it’ – but it is God that said it.”

The Kano State government has announced that it recorded five COVID-19 related deaths on Sunday.

The State Ministry of Health said this while confirming 26 new cases of the disease.

It added that 18 patients were discharged on Sunday.

“Update as at 11:47pm 10th May 2020;

“26 new cases of #COVID19Kano cases confirmed.

“Total confirmed cases in @KanostateNg are now 602.

“18 additional #COVID19Kano patients were discharged.

“ 5 #COVID19Kano deaths were recorded.

Meanwhile, the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria stands at 4399.

Not less than 10 medical doctors have tested positive for COVID-19 at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital.

The Chairman, Association of Resident Doctors, AKTH, Dr Abukakar Nagona, who made the confirmation to newsmen in Kano, on Tuesday, said the doctors were treating patients, who came to the hospital with symptoms later discovered to be COViD-19.

“Eight of the infected doctors have been sent to Isolation centres, while the remaining two have gone into self-isolation in their respective homes, as they were yet to develop any symptoms,” he said.
However, he attributed the vulnerability of the doctors to “the absence of adequate Personal Protective equipment, as well as the failure of patients to wear face masks when coming to the hospital for treatment”.

The Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, has revealed the drug used in treating COVID-19 patients in Nigeria.

Ehanire during a press briefing on Tuesday said Nigeria has started using Remdesivir.

Remdesivir is an antiretroviral drug, in managing COVID-19 patients.

“We have been using that (Remdesivir); we have tried that in Lagos too,” he said.


“So, we have tried the antiretroviral drug to see what effect it has.”

He added that Nigeria has moved from disease importation to community spread.

Recall that the US had approved emergency use of Remdesivir, for treatment of the disease.

The US National Institute of Health had said the drug proved effective against the new coronavirus disease.

Meanwhile, Nigeria has so far recorded 2802 cases while 93 persons have died from the coronavirus infection.

The General Manager of the Nigerian Television Athority (NTA), Katsina, Mr Ayinde Soaga, has tested positive for coronavirus.

Soaga is a popular broadcaster who had worked at the Ogun State Television and the NTA headquarters as a newscaster before he became the general manager of the NTA Katsina.

The Katsina State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), which disclosed this on Tuesday, expressed concern over the report as Soaga is a member of the union.
In a statement released to the newsmen by the Chairman of the union, Tukur Dan-Ali, on Tuesday the union sympathised with Mr Soaga, his family, the NTA chapel of NUJ as well as the entire journalists in the state over the development.

“We hereby remind our members in Katsina State to be cautious and continue to take all precautionary measures during coverage of events and while delivering their services everywhere as Journalists.

“This, of course indicated the fact that journalists are exposed to danger in this hard period of spread of coronavirus pandemic everywhere in Nigeria particularly in Katsina.
The NUJ strongly believes that Soaga contracted the coronavirus as a result of his day-to-day service as a journalist and head of NTA Katsina.

“We equally observed that there was no time in the recent history of Katsina State that the media houses in Katsina and their workers needed support from government and non-governmental organisations than now.

“While wishing Alhaji Ayinde Soaga quick and happy recovery, we also hope that staff of NTA Katsina, family, friends and all others will give necessary support to the health workers if and when the need arises.”

The Kano State Government has discharged three Coronavirus patients after testing negative twice for the virus.
Since the state recorded its first case in April, this is the first time that patients would be discharged.

Tijani Hussain, Coordinator of the Technical Response Team on COVID-19, broke the news in Kano on Tuesday afternoon.
Hussain, who stressed that the task force was strictly operating on the guidelines of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on admission and discharge of cases, said more patients in its isolation centre will be discharged this week.

He said, “Kano positive cases still stands at 365 including eight deaths and three discharge.

“So far we have collected 313 samples, 182 tested at Abuja, 60 at AKTH and 71 confirmed at BUK test centres. So far we have 22.8 per cent of positive cases in Kano.

“We are on contact tracing of over 400, 64 are without symptoms and seven are positive. We still have the challenge of resistance and non-disclosure of status from our contacts.
We are presently working on the instruction of the governor to establish sample collections across the 44 local government areas of the state and that shall be achieved by the grace of God.”

Apparently worried by the looming sack of bank workers and its negative implications for the banking system and the economy, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and its Bankers’ Committee have pleaded with banks nationwide to suspend forthwith any planned retrenchment of their employees.

The anticipated massive disengagement of the workers is not unconnected to the ravaging impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the lenders’ operations and the economy generally.
The apex bank’s Director, Corporate Communication, Isaac Okorafor, stated that the decision by the CBN was reached with the Bankers’ Committee at a special meeting of the convened on May 2, 2020.

Specifically, he stated that the meeting was convened to further review the implications of the COVID-19 pandemic on the Nigerian banking industry.
According to him, the Committee particularly deliberated on the issue of the operating costs of banks in view of the disruptions emanating from the global economic difficulties and decided that “in order to help minimize and mitigate the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on families and livelihoods, no bank in Nigeria shall retrench or lay-off any staff of any cadre (including full-time and part-time).

“To give effect to the above measure, the express approval of the Central Bank of Nigeria shall be required in the event that it becomes absolutely necessary to lay-off any such staff.

“The Central Bank of Nigeria solicits the support of all in our collective effort to weather through the economic challenges occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic” he stated.

One of the banks, Access Bank Plc, was reported to have sent disengagement letters to some of its employees at the weekend even as others’ salaries were reportedly slashed as part of the management’s efforts to cut the lender’s operations cost.

Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Bishop Mathew Hassan Kukah has handed over a 30-room space for isolation centres to the Sokoto State Ministry of Health for the COVID-19.

This was disclosed in the official Twitter handle of the ministry on Monday. Kukah who make the donation on behalf of the Diocese also handed over the church clinic at Gidan Dare area of the state for the treatment of COVID-19 patient.

The 30-room hotel which is located at Aliyu Jodi road will, according to the statement be used for the isolation of suspected cases of COVID-19 to complement those already on ground in the state.
Tribune Online recalled that Kukah also recently distributed food items to some vulnerable people in the state, where he enjoined the beneficiaries to guide against anything that can cause the spread of the deadly virus in the state
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Sokoto State Tasks force on COVID-19, Dr Ali Inname has explained why the number of cases was on the rise in the state.

According to him, there were so far 66 active cases and eight COVID-19 associated deaths in the state just as one patient recovered and was duly discharged.
He also revealed that three more patients would be discharged in the next two days.

Dr Inname who is also the Commissioner of Health said they had streamlined three steps for curtailing the virus which was tracing, testing and treatment.

He further disclosed that over 100 teams were deployed to local government areas for contact tracing.

“We carry out postmortem test of dead bodies and testing of all contacts. This is why the number of active cases is increasing on a daily basis,” he said.
He further explained that the COVID-19 is not a death sentence as one could contract and even recover from it without knowing he or she was a carrier.

Inname added that the state received 13 almajiris including their teacher from Gombe State who is being quarantined in NYSC orientation centre in Wamakko.

He disclosed that the state is also making plans to expatriate almajiri to their state of origins.
The commissioner revealed that a committee was inaugurated to ascertain causes of the high rate of death in local government areas.

Two more COVID-19 related deaths have been recorded in Lagos State, raising the total death to 30.

The Lagos State Ministry of Health disclosed this on its official twitter handle @LSMOH.

According to the tweet, 39 new cases of COVID-19 infection were recorded May 3, 2020, bringing to 1,123, the total number of confirmed cases in the State out of which 247 cases have been successfully managed and discharged; 828 are active, 16 transferred to other States and two evacuated.

The Ministry appealed to residents of the State to continue to observe social distancing, use face masks and practice proper hygiene.

The Nigerian Government has concluded plans to evacuate about 270 Nigerians willing to return back to the country from the United States (US).
This was made known in a statement dated May 3 from the Consulate General of Nigeria in New York.

According to the Consulate, a one-way flight has been arranged for the evacuation of stranded Nigerians in the US and will take place on Sunday night.
It also revealed that the flight operated by Ethiopian Airlines with a 270-passenger capacity would evacuate travelers at their expense, and the returnees would fly economy class.

The consulate added that applications to be evacuated would be considered on a ‘first-come, first-served basis while the list of evacuees would be treated according to their immigration status.

It said, “The expected time of arrival in Abuja is 12noon on the next day after the flight.
Further information on other flight arrangements shall be communicated to Nigerian nationals in the USA in due course.”

Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has announced that the Nigerian government on Monday received $311,797,866 of the Abacha loot.

The money was repatriated from the United States and the Bailiwick of Jersey after a recent agreement.

Malami, in a statement by his Spokesman, Umar Gwandu, said the amount increased from over $308 million two months ago to $311 million because of the interest that accrued.

He noted that the litigation process for the return of these assets titled “Abacha III” commenced in 2014, while the diplomatic process that culminated into the signing of the Asset Return Agreement in February.

“This Agreement is based on international law and cooperation measures that sets out the procedures for the repatriation, transfer, disposition and management of the assets.

In line with the 2020 Asset Return Agreement, the fund has been transferred to a Central Bank of Nigeria Asset Recovery designated account and would be paid to the National Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA) within the next fourteen days.

“The NSIA is responsible for the management and execution of the projects to which the funds will be applied,” the Minister has said.

Malami said the money will be used to fund projects including Lagos – Ibadan Expressway, Abuja – Kano Road, and the Second Niger Bridge.

To ensure transparent management of the returned assets, the Nigerian government promised to, “engage a Civil Society Organisation, who has combined expertise in substantial infrastructure projects, civil engineering, anti-corruption compliance, anti-human trafficking compliance, and procurement to provide additional monitoring and oversight.”

A Nigerian lady named Adetomisin has cried out from an unknown location in Oman, calling for help to be returned back home.
The young lady, who claimed to be from Ondo State, said she was tricked into going to Oman by a travel agent, who initially promised her that she was heading to United States where a job and other good things awaited her.
In a video she shared and seen by SaharaReporters, the young lady said her agent abandoned her at a office upon arrival at Oman where her passport and other personal items were confiscated.
According to her, she was immediately dispatched to work as domestic help and shop attendant for a man, who subjected her to all forms of abuse including sexual harassment.
Narrating her sad experience, Adetomisin said, "When I left Nigeria, I agreed with my agent that I’ll go work in the United States.
"After I finished my NCE programme, there was no job and I saw the situation of things, I chose to travel.
"My agent said he would help me secure a job in the United States but all of a sudden everything changed and we were brought to Oman, myself and one other lady. I don’t know what happened.
When we got to the airport in Oman, two people came to pick us. They took us to an office, when we got there, they took our passports and everything on us including our phones. They took us to where we would work.
"When I got to the workplace, my boss started threatening me and frustrating me. For the first four months that I worked there, he didn’t pay my salary, he didn’t give me any money.
"When I called my agent, he said he had played his part and none of that was his problem anymore and he has stopped picking my calls ever since.
"Later, my boss was threatening me and insisting I sleep with him, I told him I couldn’t. My job is very stressful, I wake up as early as 4am and I don’t go back to bed until it’s 1am.
So, he started threatening me that if I don’t do what he wants, he will kill me. I said I was not working again and that they should return me to my country.
"They took me back to the office we were first taken to upon arrival at Oman. They started shouting at us when we got there. They took us to a room and locked us up for a whole week without food or water. Most of us drank toilet water for a whole week before we were taken back to work.
"After they took us back, I have spent one year and two months with him. I am ill. I told my boss to let me go back to my county, he said I can’t go back.
Nigerians please help me, I want to come back home. Nigerians please save me, I am sick and my boss said I can’t go home.
"My number is 96892544763. Nigerians please save me, don’t let me die in Oman."
This is not the first time that Nigerian ladies trafficked to Oman would be crying out for help after being dehumanised in the Arabian country, in recent months several young ladies have found themselves in similar situations despite warnings not to patronizing travel agents, who promise greener pastures in foreign lands.

A member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, representing Nasarawa central, Mr. Sule Adamu, has died of coronavirus, The PUNCH reports.

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state confirmed this on Sunday while briefing newsmen on the update of COVID-19 pandemic in the state.

He said the state’s House of Assembly would also be shut down and all the state lawmakers be quarantined to contain the spread of the virus in the state

Russia on Sunday registered more than 10,600 new coronavirus infections, marking a fresh one-day record increase.

New infections jumped by 10,633 to 134,687 cases, Russian authorities said.

Russia is now the European country registering the most new infections.

But the official fatality rate is low in comparison to countries like Italy, Spain and the United States.
Fifty eight people died over the past 24 hours, bringing the total death toll to 1,280.

Moscow mayor Sergei Sobyanin has said the Russian capital, which has emerged as the epicentre of the contagion, was not yet past the peak of the outbreak.

Moscow recorded 5,948 new cases, bringing the capital’s total to 68,606.

President Vladimir Putin has said the situation remains “very difficult.”

Despite the steady increase in cases, the government has indicated it could gradually lift confinement measures from May 12, but the easing will depend on the region.

Sobyanin said on Saturday that about two percent of Moscow residents – or more than 250,000 people – have the coronavirus.

According to official statistics, Moscow has a population of 12.7 million but the real figure is believed to be higher. (AFP)
