Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka,GNI, Ogun State governorship aspirant on the platform of African Democratic Congress(ADC) in the forthcoming 2019 general election visited Banku, Arigbede, Mokore and Wawa in Ifo Local Government area of Ogun State to inspect and commiserate with the residents of the flood-affected areas. The governorship hopefully lamented insensitivity and neglect of APC led government on town planning ethics as the major bane of infrastructural deficiency in most flood-affected areas. While addressing the residents, GNI assures residents of better collaboration with major community stakeholders like the Baales, Community Development Associations (CDAs’) etc to champion ideas and support self-help community projects that will permanently resolve these prevalent circumstances and change the lives of people for good if elected Ogun State Governor comes 2019. The overwhelmed residents regret near total neglect of the areas by the outgoing APC government in Ogun State and also appreciate GNI on his compassion and high sense of responsibility. He, therefore, urges the residents to be law abiding and be vigilant by not blocking water-ways and drainages in their communities.

RE: Gboyega Nasir Isiaka Shares Chin-Chin & Cake Giving out branded gifts at political rallies is not new in modern-day political rallies, most especially in Nigeria. That some packs of Chichin and Cake were labeled with GNI’s name and picture does not mean he is taking people for granted and definitely wouldn’t have authorized such but trust overzealous supporters who have no Gold nor Silver to offer but felt the best way for them is to show love and appreciate his candidature by effortlessly volunteering to campaign and support a candidate they believe in. Its obvious GNI is the man of the moment in Ogun State politics, more so GNI being a source of hope and inspiration to millions of Ogun State residents and indigenes, everybody from low and mighty in Ogun State all wish to be identified with his Governorship ambition. At several fora, GNI continues to tell the good people of Ogun State how he plans to create a life of abundance for them if elected by prioritizing visible and real economic expansion, agriculture, industrialization, job creation and welfare with developmental projects spread across all zones of the state. |
Over the years, GNI with his Irorunde For The Less Privilege (IFTLP) has been able to bring smile and succor to the people of Ogun State which in-turn translated to large incisive believers in his governorship ambition. The planning of the event was to visit community leaders and other stakeholders in the local government area, but supporters of GNI and his political party ADC, with several aspirants for various political offices from the State Assembly to the National Assembly, all throng out in large numbers to welcome the governorship hopeful in a carnival-like gathering. Addressing a mammoth crowd at Joy of The Wise Hall, Redemption Camp (RCCG) and the Mowe Township during a first of the series of planned consultative tour of 236 wards in Ogun State, the governorship aspirant of African Democratic Congress (ADC), Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, fondly called GNI pledges more abundant and direct governance for the people of Obafemi Owode Local Government Area. GNI noted that his intention to seek the leadership of Ogun State is to liberate the people of Ogun State from slavish mind-sets, that have seen the impoverishment of the majority by bringing governance to the doorstep of every resident of the state wherever they might reside and also promises to run an inclusive government where human welfare and security will be his priority. He further promised to restore the dignity of Ogun State residents through solution-driven, socio-economic interventions, inculcation of clear values and understanding of fundamental rights which are well articulated in the party manifesto. Speaking at the event, Chief Joju Fadairo, who is an ardent supporter of GNI governorship ambition and former Ogun State PDP chairman, stated “we all know the importance of votes from Obafemi Owode Local Government, especially Ofada Ward and If crowd was direct translation of votes, it’s easier to conclude that the whole of Obafemi Owode Local Government is for GNI with this show of love”. Also speaking, Barrister Ajijola the legal adviser of the African Democratic Congress,ADC of the Ogun State Chapter, stated “With a united party like ours, African Democratic Congress, HOPE and INSPIRATION will be restored for the people of Ogun State; we encourage all our aspirants to continue evangelizing the party programs for electorates, as we promise to provide a level playing field for all.” It was gathered that GNI is expected to tour all the 236 political wards in Ogun state in the coming weeks.

The Ogun State Executive of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Friday played host to a two time gubernatorial candidate in the state, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka (GNI) who came on a consultation and declaration visit in an event held at the Party's state secretariat in Abeokuta. Explaining the rationale behind the meeting, Isiaka, who led a delegation of loyalists to the venue said he came to formally present himself as an aspirant on the platform of the ADC and also share his plans and programmes for the people. "For me, I have been around Ogun state for a while contesting in 2011 and 2015. I am contesting again because I believe governance can be better conducted in a way that helps the people. In the last two years, I have run a movement, The Believe Movement,TBM, which is built around values reorientation and promotion of good governance. This movement has now been emptied into the ADC because I can relate with the party's philosophy and manifesto". Continuing, he said, "Since moving into the party, this is the first formal consultation I am making as regards my 2019 ambition and there is no better place to start than with the state executive. After now, I will extend the consultations round the twenty local governments; where I will be meeting party faithfuls, stakeholders and the electorate in those locations". The former Group Managing Director of Gateway Holdings Limited used the occasion to restate his plans to make life more abundant for Ogun State through a revitalised blueprint that will soon be publicly unveiled. "My manifesto is a suite of programmes called 'Seven Steps to Abundance' which has Education, Healthcare, Job creation, Economic Growth, Rural Integration, Social Infrastructure and Border Towns Development as some of its major highlights". Isiaka commended the party leadership under Dr. Gbolade Osinowo, noting that the party has gained traction within a short time. He however urged the party to quickly make available, guidelines to all aspirants ahead of the 2019 elections. "I will close by advocating for more cooperation and unity within the party in order to achieve our common objective. It is also important for the party to field quality, credible and popular candidates for all elective positions as this will go a long way in determining our electoral fate". Responding, the party Chairman, Chief Dr. Gbolade Osinowo said he was highly impressed with the aspirant's demeanour and intimidating profile. "Listening to GNI speak, he comported himself and exuded intelligence. He has justified today that he is truly a first class graduate because his speech was simply gubernatorial". The State Chairman said the ADC is an old party with new life. He therefore urged all party faithful to be more united and work to unseat the current political administration in Ogun State. Dr Femi Majekodunmi, Bashorun Niyi Salako and other executive members who spoke at the event were full of praise for Isiaka and threw their weight behind his aspiration. They reckoned that the party would give it's total support to Prince Isiaka as he has shown himself worthy of representing the party at the governorship election in 2019. Isiaka was accompanied by top bigwigs like Chief Joju Fadairo, Akogun Pegba Otemolu, Nuru Olaleye, Jimoh Olaifa, Olotu Dipo Sofowora among several others

Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka,GNI, Ogun State governorship aspirant of African Democratic Congress(ADC) in the forthcoming 2019 general election has condemned the gruesome massacre in Plateau last Sunday, where over 100 people including children and women were killed. In a statement by his media assistant, Wale Junaid, the leading governorship aspirant urge the APC led federal government to stop politicizing the killings rather should find a lasting solution to the herdsman attacks across north-central states by tracking down the perpetrators and bring them to book. The statement also slams the Miyetti Allah for claiming the killing is a payback for 300 stolen cattle. "It is the basic responsibility of the government to ensure the safety and co-living of all Nigerian irrespective of who they are or where they live without any fear or favour but with the constants attacks on innocent people, it seems the APC led federal government is failing in its responsibility". He, therefore, assures Ogun State residents of better collaboration with security agencies and adequately providing necessary crime-fighting equipment for security agencies and also setting up community watchmen to secure lives and properties in the entire state if elected governor of the state from 2019.

A group under the aegis of Ogun – Lagos Border Towns(OGLABOT) has faulted the present Ogun State administration on the development of border communities like Akute, Mowe, Ibafo,Sango, Agbara, Ogijo, Arepo,Ota, Olambe, Oke Aro,Agbado among others as many of these communities are left unattended to, thereby putting the responsibility on the residents to provide many basic infrastructures like electricity, water, roads, drainages, etc for themselves. The group made the claim while commending Lagos State Government on its proposed extension of Isawo –Agric road in Ikorodu area of Lagos State down to Arepo in Ogun State, a border community for southwest commercial integration. According to the secretary of OGLABOT (Ogun Lagos Border Towns) group, Mr. Micheal Abiosoye Ajao, “Most of these towns are left in deplorable conditions with little or no plan for rural-urban integration by the present administration, whereas; these are communities that should gear up Internal Generated Revenue (IGR) for the state if properly harnessed. Also, a two time and presently African Democratic Congress(ADC) governorship aspirant in the state who recently adopted ADC as his platform, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka better known by all as GNI said, “We plan to set up an agency with mandate to ensure the sustainable social, economic and infrastructural development of border communities in Ogun State. GNI added, “Our priorities would be visible and real economic expansion through industrialization, agriculture, jobs creation and welfare with developmental projects spread across all zones and communities of the state as we are ready to harness and manage the economic and human capital potentials of the entire state.” The group further called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to move the continuous voter's registration exercise to the polling units to ensure effectiveness, as most of the registration centers are far apart which makes it difficult for residents especially border communities to actively register or transfer their registration to Ogun state. |
The Super Eagles of Nigeria will be playing in the FIFA World Cup – Russia 2018; though they are 23 players that have been selected, we want to assure them that close to 200 million Nigerians home and abroad are solidly behind them. We are all going to align regardless of our differences or divides with one voice to cheer the Super Eagles to victory in Russia. As a Party with the single focus of seeing a Nigeria where Nigerians are united and can bear each other’s differences while drawing on the beauty of our diversity, we see the current Super Eagles as a metaphor for that position that our party holds dearly. We see a team of players from across the Niger, the South-South, the Northern hemisphere and the West of Nigeria where no one has earned a shirt because of quota system. Every member of the Super Eagles has earned a shirt because they deserve it. That’s our concept of a New Nigeria and that’s what we have seen with the Super Eagles. Within the period of the games, we know Nigeria’s unity comes through very strongly. No one cares who scores the goal, no one cares what part of Nigeria the goalkeeper is from. Everyone speaks one language; one language of hope and expectation and the handshakes, hugs, laughter, smiles, shouts, drums and dance that follow every win of the team will attest to the reality of the spirit that binds us together. And this for our party is the spirit of Nigeria. The spirit of a people so indivisible and united. The spirit of great neighborliness and warm friendship and love. The Spirit of Nigeria. In every win or loss, it is never about a part of Nigeria, but the whole of Nigeria. We would all focus our energies and prayers for the Super Eagles to win; Muslims pray and Christians, even in some instances gather to pray together. If we do this in Football, therefore the agenda for a New Nigeria should be that all Nigerians focus our energies on achieving this goal together and putting aside the sentiments and emotions that mostly colour our views, deprive us of our being; and our inner being of winning against all odds. This is, therefore, a call to every Nigerian across divides and age to rally round the Super Eagles over the next 4 weeks as we watch the FIFA World Cup and cheer the Super Eagles to victory. Likewise, Alliance for New Nigeria we also hold hands to work towards in ensuring we deliver a New Nigeria where we all can be proud to be called Nigerians. To us, the lives of every Nigerian count. As the 2019 approaches, we appeal to every Nigerian to join forces with Alliance for New Nigeria and vote ANN for a New Nigeria. We know that friendship and fair play rule the game of football. We are confident that as a team, our Super Eagles have what it takes to win the World Cup. However, win or lose, we shall celebrate victory because it’s all about fair play at the end. So today, whilst I join my voice with every other Nigerian and on behalf of our great party the Alliance for New Nigeria, we wish the Super Eagles of Nigeria a superb run in RUSSIA 2018.

After the adoption of ADC as his political platform by the promoters of Believe Movement; Gboyega Nasir Isiaka popularly referred to as GNI and his supporters are already taking ADC to local government level to create massive awareness for the party with various inaugural meetings across the 20 local government areas of the state. At one of its inaugural meetings held yesterday (03/06/2018) at Arepo community in Obafemi Owode LG , various chieftains of the now rested TBM (The Believe Movement) took turn to enlighten guests and GNI supporters on why they have joined ADC which is believed to be the credible alternative to the ruling party and also the main opposition in both Ogun State and Nigeria at large. According to Mr. Akinwunmi, a former Believe Movement coordinator in Obafemi Owode Local Government, “our symbol GNI which will all represent initiated a movement sometime in 2016 with the mission to spread life abundant messages across the state but with this inauguration, The Believe Movement seize to exist and we are now member of African Democratic Congress(ADC) . Mr. Akinwunmi continues, “The ADC is a reformed and reinvigorated party, a source of hope and inspiration to millions at home and abroad built on Transparency, Prudency, Accountability, Humility, De-Tribalised, Due- Process”. Another chieftain of the party, Alhaji - Rafiu Ogunsola also urges residents of Obafemi Owode Local Government to be active politically by joining African Democratic Congress (ADC) as the party is open for anybody especially the youths to aspire for various elective positions. Also present at the event, Alhaji Olawemimo, fondly called Omu Iya and Alhaji Semiu Ogunbayo, fondly called Semcom both confirmed their believe in GNI being a homegrown Governor aspirant who understands the challenges of the state with great achievement both in private and public sector and not somebody who has lived his entire adulthood on politics without something to show except for money bag politics and also urge Ogun State Indigene to get their PVCs and prepare well to play their role as citizens to hand over the job to the best man whose experience, intellectual well to do and exposure would take Ogun State back to its right position in economical, infrastructural and educational realization come 2019. Receiving the ADC in Magboro/Arepo, Mr. Kunle Isiaka said infrastructural development of border towns like Arepo, Akute, Mowe, Ibafo, Sango, Akute, Agbara, Ogijo and others is a key part of GNI plan if elected and enjoin electorates to support GNI and ADC during the 2019 general election. It will be recalled the GNI recently resigned from PDP and officially defected to African Democratic Congress (ADC ) based on his conviction that the party will be built on equity, justice and good governance for all.

The two governorship candidate of People's Democratic Party (PDP) in 2015 Prince Gboyega Nasiru Isiaka has finally resigned his membership with PDP. Gboyega Isiaka explained that the decision taken was not an easy one for him, noted that the crisis rocking the party in the state had proved intractable ahead of another general election. A copy of his resignation letter dated May 24 and addressed to the state Chairman PDP, was obtained on Friday. Western post correspondent reports that the party had been fractionalized between loyalists of Senator Buruji Kashamu representing Ogun East Senatorial District and a House of Representatives member, Oladipupo Adebutu, from Remo Federal Constituency. Isiaka, who had contested the governorship on two previous occasions, said he was leaving the PDP to continue his partisan political career “by charting a new course.” He lamented that genuine steps taken by few patriots within the opposition party to close up the fault lines and return it to glory days have been to no avail. The letter partly read, “I am using this medium to convey the decision to resign my membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), effective from today 24th May, 2018. “This has not been an easy one for me as I recall with nostalgia, the opportunities, and privileges which the membership of this party conferred on my political career; the peak of which was the kind consideration given me to be the flag bearer of the PDP in the last gubernatorial election in Ogun State. “You will recall that the PDP, especially in our state, has been through a rough patch in the last couple of years, and after two successive electoral losses, the search for lasting peace is still elusive. Despite the genuine steps taken by few patriots within the party to close up the fault lines and return the party to glory days, all have been to no avail. “With another election on the horizon and the perennial challenges of the party festering and proving to be intractable, I am left with no other choice but to continue my partisan political career by charting a new course where my philosophies and beliefs are aligned with good democratic ethos for the ultimate aim of promoting a better society.” When contacted on Isiaka’s next political move, one of his media aides, Wale Junaid, said his principal was committed to contesting and winning the 2019 governorship in the state. Junaid stated that the issue of whether the two-time gubernatorial candidate would join another political party or not would be addressed at the appropriate time. He restated Isiaka’s commitment to running a welfarist and people-centered administration when he emerges as governor in 2019

The Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka (GNI) media office hereby condemn the malicious and irresponsible news report by a certain Abeokuta based tabloid called Platform Times; a report that was erroneously used on Radio press review. It is well-known fact that both GNI and YAYI are brothers from Ogun West, with the passion to serve the good people of Ogun state and it is also our belief that at the right time the electorate will make a defining choice. It must also be noted that the two Ogun west sons maintain a cordial relationship, which goes beyond individual governorship aspirations. No doubt, conversations around the unity of purpose is ongoing among major gubernatorial stakeholders within and outside Ogun west but it does not include one group dissolving into another. While we are not unaware of the antics of the fifth columnist to sow seeds of discord in Ogun west, we urge these people to desist from such acts and also implore the media to be more forthright and responsible in their reports. GNI remains firm and focused on his resolve to make life more abundant for all in Ogun State. Signed: Wale Junaid For: GNI Media Office.

Dear President Muhammadu Buhari, We have received the news of a statement credited to you during your session at the Commonwealth and it has generated a lot of reactions amongst Nigerians and particularly the youth. The Alliance For New Nigeria (ANN) as a party represented by the Nigerian Youth aimed at creating a New Nigeria by showing the difference in leadership, governance and politics wish to provide you with facts that shows that your statement is completely a misrepresentation of the Nigerian youth and for the avoidance of doubt, we want the world to know that the Nigerian youth is hardworking, inventive, creative, innovative and not just sitting doing nothing and waiting for you to hand out bread to us. Today, the Nigerian entertainment industry is driven by the Nigerian Youth. From movies to music, the output is amazing and that’s not sitting down and waiting for the money from oil sir. For the records of Mr. President, his managers and those drumming up support for his re-election in 2019. In 2013, the importance of Nollywood to the Nigerian economy was fully realized during the rebasing of Nigeria’s GDP. The contribution of Nollywood alone made the GDP to jump from an initial estimate of $285.5 billion to $510 billion. And Nollywood is an industry driven heavily by Nigerian youth. Again, sir that’s not waiting for money from oil. The same industry has according to a report published by PWC noted that “Nollywood is globally recognized as the second largest film producer in the world. The Industry is a significant part of the Arts, Entertainment and Recreation Sector which contributed 2.3% (NGN239biliion) to Nigeria's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2016”. The report in its conclusion noted that this sector should be one of the priority sectors, this is 2018 and the sector is not close to anything priority. Three years after, the same administration that was voted by the majority of the Nigerian youth in 2015 has gone to the commonwealth to demarket Nigeria by extension the Nigerian Youth. What a leader we have; our Chief Marketing Officer. We are not however very surprised, a man can only give what he has. If the President has this information and still sees the Nigerian youth as sit down, doing nothing fellow, then should he still lead the over seventy million Nigerian youths come 2019? We say a capital NO. When this administration was described as “incompetent” in one of our recent statement, this development further confirms our conclusion and we say again, we won’t vote incompetence in 2019 and Nigerian Youths should not vote a man that sees them as beggars in 2019. We know that Nigerians are hardworking but have been so deprived and subjugated by the likes of President Buhari both as a military head of state and as a democratically elected president. We know that in every nation, the leadership provides the environment that allows young people to thrive and facilitate the growth of industry but is this the case under this government? Where there is massive job loss, power is still epileptic even though they campaigned and won the election on the promise that power would be fixed within 6 months. Is this the fault of the Nigerian Youth when Buhari as President has continuously shown that he doesn’t have what it takes to lead a nation in a modern digital world? The Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN) is hereby calling on all Nigerian Youths to stand up, take back Nigeria, and ensure that none of those who have plundered the wealth of Nigeria, stole Nigeria dry, and can go around the world and describe the Nigerian Youth as lazy and sit down waiting for manna from heaven to get their Permanent Voters Card, and massively change the "Change", and do away with the umbrellas in 2019. The truth is that from the North to the South of Nigeria, we have youths in abundance striving to make things happen for themselves and for their families, by extension the nation, and what has the government done to support them? Totally Nothing! Instead, they have exploited and raped the nation of its glory and pride. The Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN) promises the Nigerian Youth a New Nigeria where the inequality will be reversed. Where we wouldn’t have a senator earn N29miilion monthly and an average Nigerian live on less than N300 a day. ANN is not calling to "rule" this nation, but this is a call for every youth to take on the leadership of their fatherland towards her restoration. The Nigerian Youths are not the leaders of tomorrow, but today. We have seen them achieve amazing fits all over the world, it's time to replicate it here in Nigeria. God bless the Nigerian Youth, God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Signed: AdekoyaAdebola Chairman, BOT Alliance for New Nigeria National Secretariat Abuja - Nigeria

Thursday, 29 March 2018 Lagos and its residents would live to tell the story of their pains and sufferings as their lives is abruptly disrupted and put on hold with grave economic and social loss because the person they voted, campaigned and some of them even starved to put in power through the ballot came visiting them. Can any visit be more historic than that? In a world where Presidents commute in public transports and even have coffee right in the midst of the city square, Nigeria is still gauged with so much of nothingness and ravaged with so much of charades paraded across the length and breadth of our dear country. It is obviously like Emir Sanusi described recently, a country where the few decide the cause of the life of the majority when the few are visiting, the majority should suffer. What a country! There is no doubt that Lagos woke up this morning to untold hardship. Lagos is the economic base of Nigeria and to imagine that the most viable economy base of Nigeria is under lock and key for 48 hours simply because the President is visiting at a time they claimed Nigeria is coming out of recession. Yet they call it historic…how can more historic it be to lose about N8billion in revenue when a nation is just trying to recover? The question is which competent manager or leader have done this? To make it more historic a visit is to put that average boy and girl on the street of Lagos who earns and survives on the daily earnings to hungry and fasting for today, and to get every nook and cranny taken over by traffic gridlock, and then the major highways of Ikorodu Road and Victoria Island cleared for Mr President just to commission a bus terminal, and yet the people who voted him are trekking miles to reach their destinations, simply to get them to come out and welcome their historic visitor according to the Governor of Lagos State. What a price Nigerians have to pay to get the change that really has no change to offer. A change from bad to worse. A change where the average Nigerian amounts to nothing and the interests of the very few is considered well and above that of the hundreds of millions that elected them to represent them in government with a view that they would offer them a future without pain, but this is a far cry from expectation. And Lagos is in chains for President Muhammad Buhari to visit Lagos. Nigeria must come forth anew. A New Nigeria is imminent, Alliance for New Nigeria is the difference. For the truth is that we cannot be having the same people and expect them to bring forth a New Nigeria where this kind of visits happens, and life goes on without anyone and everyone experiencing this type of pain. Today, we relate the voice of millions of Nigerians. He may be poor because they have made him so. She may be sick because they have offered no quality health care or social security. But this Nigerian will rise again and make his or her voice count come 2019 when the Nigerian shall form an Alliance to birth a New Nigeria that when the President is visiting any part of Nigeria, the Nigerian would have no reason to be in pain or his or her city in chains. As a party, we want to register our condemnation of this act and do not think it reflects and shows any change from the old. Therefore we are registering our voice in alliance with the people of Lagos State who have gone on social media and have registered their pains for the chains Governor Ambode put on Lagos today because of his cohorts who are visiting. We are calling on all Nigerian youth and those young adults across our nation that we cannot continue to allow this type of leadership and governance anymore, and we are going to be trusting that through the instrumentality of the ballot we shall change this, because a NEW NIGERIA must emerge where life is valued and catered for. Signed Com.AdekoyaAdebola Chairman, BOT ANN Abuja - Nigeria

2019 electoral cycle is fast approaching and as usual, politicians are seriously preparing for various battles genuine and otherwise; but who should actually govern Ogun state from May 29, 2019? From where? At many occasions in recent past, the executive governor of Ogun State, His Excellency, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has made it public that for fairness and equity sake; he would give his full backing to a Yewa governorship candidate since no indigene of that part of the State has occupied the seat since the creation of Ogun State forty-two years ago. It was the same reason that the former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo is said to have also thrown his weight behind a Yewa candidate for 2019 governorship race in the State. It is common and most likely that an incumbent will prefer to have his ally or lackey take over from him maybe to continue his legacy or cover him up of any perceived or real misdemeanor while in office and it is on the basis of this that I am interrogating the sensibilities of Ogun State citizens and residents if it is healthy and proper for our existence as Ogun State indigenes to be traded or as compensation for political gains? A window look into Governor Amosun’s tenure thus far will describe Ogun state as a fast developing state with the great infrastructural developments but is Abeokuta the only city/town in Ogun State or is it a case of Gov. Amosun seeing only Abeokuta as the entire state? Aside the fair, just and equitable agitation of Ogun West and the reawakening of rested and outdated divisional rotational arrangement of the old by Ijebu Agenda protagonists; it may not be out of place that the singling out of ONLY Egba majorly for infrastructural upgrade by the outgoing governor may be the reason other zones in Ogun state want to be the next governor. Without mincing word, Gov Amosun is doing what he deemed fit to the best of his ability as It is believed in some quarters and mostly his followers that he has turned the state around in terms of legacy infrastructures, security of lives and properties and attraction of massive investments but many concerned indigenes of Ogun state are asking questions as to: Are these developments spread across all zones of the state and how rational are these projects considering the economic potential of different areas of Ogun State. Although, it is a consolation that most of Gov. Amosun achievements could be a stepping stone for the next Governor, provided he/she is a broadminded person but even though the public were made to believe that Ogun State is now the new heaven on earth but several of those projects remain mirage; for instance: • Border towns like Mowe, Ibafo, Sango, Akute, Agbra , etc are left in deplorable states with little or no plan for rural-urban integration; whereas, these are towns that could have become the money pit for the state. • When Ogun state was celebrating its 40years of creation several projects were commissioned but how completed were the projects; like many road projects outside Abeokuta city, the Mowe - Ofada road was dualized but just one section of the road was completed leaving the other section in deplorable state • Several modern schools were commissioned too but few are operational and functional, one year after commissioning. • Expected primary health care should be free but on a visit to few of the healthcare facility specifically in Mowe and Odogbolu, it was observed that the facilities are underfunded with few or no expertise and required drugs not available causing the communities to travel far for adequate health care. • It was reported that Ogun State paid 13th-month salary to civil servants in December but on interactions with many civil servants, it was shocking that Gov. Amosun owes several months salary and also pensioners in the state have no hope for gratuities anytime soon • Further information revealed that the pyramid of rice displayed to show 110,000 bags of rice actually housed not more than 2,500 bags of rice. It was revealed that no rice of such magnitude was planted in any part of the state and none of the rice mills displayed during the launch were functional. The little ones displayed by Amosun are the ones he bought from different sellers across all the market in the state. Various insider report then backed this information with a detailed picture of how the governor, Ibikunle Amosun had deceived the CBN governor and others that graced the occasion. A wider look around Ogun State will show a state not only in need of a Governor, but one that: • Is ready to harness and manage the economic and human capital potentials of the entire state. • A homegrown Governor who understands the challenges of the state with great achievement both in private and public sector and not somebody who has lived his entire adulthood on politics without something to show except for money bag politics. • Whose priorities would be visible and real economic expansion, agriculture, industrialization, jobs creation and welfare with developmental projects spread across all zones of the state. Let's prepare well to handover the Job to the best man whose experience, intellectual well to do and exposure would take Ogun state back to its right position in economical, infrastructural and educational realization. Let’s get our PVCs; it's time to play our roles as CITIZENS, Irorun de tan!!! Mogaji ‘Tunde, Coordinator of Ogun State Concerned Young Professionals (OGCYP);olatunde.mogaji@gmail.com |
In what appears to be general endorsement for Ogun West zone ahead of 2019 general election in Ogun State, a group of young adults under the umbrella body, Ogun State Concerned Young Professionals (OGCYP) during one of its recent consultative forum endorsed Gboyega Nasir Isiaka(GNI) as their preferred candidate for Ogun State governorship election. Although the group claims not to be link with any political party or represent any division/zone in Ogun State but believes in good governance for all. In justifying the group decision, the coordinator of the group, Mr. Tunde Mogaji said “ having graduated with a First Class category in Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting (B.Sc Accounting) from University of Ife (now OAU) and with great accomplishment both in the Private and Public sector such like from near zero revenue, the Ogun State Government generated revenue in excess of N1billion from investment management activities during his tenure in Gateway holdings, amongst other notable achievements, Ogun State needs somebody like Gboyega Nasir Isiaka with intellectual and right exposure with home-grown solutions to most of the challenges confronting the state”. After careful analysis of all potential aspirants from a different zone of the state, Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, GNI as his fondly called seems to represent the true vision of modern day democrat with a technocrat attitude which our group represents. Against this background, We want his experience and exposure work for us in Ogun State, as we believe he can take Ogun state back to its right position in economical, infrastructural and educational realization.
