All the women in these pictures are dead! All within a space of 5 months. They were all victims of domestic abuse and they all suffered extreme physical violence in the hands of their husbands up until their deaths. Growing up, I was told the reason many women stay in abusive marriages is because they don’t have their own money and they can’t run back to their fathers house…. Let me shock you!!! All the women in these pictures were the breadwinners; they were all independently and financially well to do. They all had their own money and they were all richer than their husbands. They were all equally educated and relatively exposed; everything you know about domestic violence, they knew much more! But yet! Yet! Their lives were ended by the dead-beat men they chose to love! Dear Women, If he hits you once, he will definitely do it again and again and again. And if you make excuses for him the first time, you will see yourself making excuses for him, over and over and over again. Maybe one day he will change, but until then, leave! Because he won’t change if keeps seeing you to punch. He can only change when you leave him! So, leave now! Carry you bag and go. Just go! And don’t come back! Under the flyover is better than a inside the casket. We can blame society, we can blame religion, we can blame the church! But the truth is, you always have a choice and the choice is always yours to make. Religion cannot go, tradition cannot go, society cannot go… only you can go! If you love yourself, leave! If you love your children, leave! If you love your friends, leave! If you love your partner, leave! The rate at which women are dying in the hands of their partners these days is alarming. It’s seems like the right question to ask is….Who Is Next?

Addressing Journalists at the Independent National Electoral Commission Office in Ado Ekiti this morning, the Nigerian representative of AU- ECOSSOC, Dr. Tunji John Asaolu, said it's rather sad to see a poor handling of the electoral process of this nature even in Africa “We are disappointed that Ekiti State is far behind in politics of this nation. We are here to monitor this primary, sadly, the guidelines are not being followed. The Africa Charter on Democracy, Election and Governance was not respected. We believe that in any election, there should be respect for human rights and all interested parties should be given fair play, anything short of that is irregularity. "This is not expected from any political party in Nigeria after over 20 years of uninterrupted democratic governance. Nigeria is supposed to lead other Arican Countries in setting a standard for democratic governance and principle. Africa must consolidate our democracy now, even at this trying time" “If the aspirants agreed that the election should be cancelled, the majority must be allowed to carry the day. YPP ON LINGERING DOCTORS' STRIKE ACTION: IT'S TIME TO REJECT INSENSITIVE POLITICIANS IN 2023. 1. It is indeed sad and discomforting that the APC government after several weeks of the ongoing strike action by medical doctors is still very far from coming up with a solution to a problem that is not rocket science. 2. While we understand that the ruling elites have got alternatives as seen in the recent show of medical solidarity between President Muhammadu Buhari and Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu in London, it is nothing short of callousness to have allowed the strike to linger on for this long at the detriment of the Nigerian masses who have no alternative. 3. The cumulative time and resources spent abroad by President Muhammadu Buhari on medical tourism since the assumption of office would have been enough to set up a world-class medical centre in the country and effectively put an end to the reasons for the intermittent strikes. 4. How our political elites can sleep at night in this COVID-19 era especially with the new Delta variant that has led to the sudden surge in the cases of infected persons and deaths while our doctors are on strike is enough to elicit special research on leadership insensitivity in this part of the world. 5. As long as our leaders refuse to place a high premium on education and health, which have jointly attracted ridiculously low budgetary allocations in the last six years of this administration, Nigeria will continue to record an extremely poor ranking in the Human Development Index. 6. We hereby call on President Muhammadu Buhari to as a matter of national urgency personally intervene in this lingering strike action by medical doctors in order to reach a compromise that will herald a sustainable solution. Anything short of a personal intervention by the President himself in the next 48 hours should be regarded by Nigerians as deliberate. 7. We also call on the leadership of the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) with an appeal to kindly look beyond the insensitivity of the government and allow compassion to prevail because of hundreds dying daily. We admonish a quick compromise that will allow members to return to work as soon as possible. 8. If funding is an excuse, the sale of over 7 idle Presidential jets, merging of redundant MDAs, reduction of frivolous allowances by government officials will help to raise all the required funds needed to address this problem once and for all. 9. Conclusively, Nigerians especially the doctors and all those who have lost loved ones due to inadequate funding of the health sector should consider this a massive lesson, hence avoid visionless, insensitive and deceptive politicians in 2023. APYF COORDINATORS, OTHERS JOIN YPP, AS PARTY COMMENCES E-REGISTRATION AT EDU AND PATEGI TODAY. Hundreds of youths joined the Young Progressives Party today, in Edu and Pategi Local Government areas of Kwara State. The youths led by the Coordinator of the All Progressives Youth Forum (APYF) Comr. Muhammad Sulayman Baba declared their support for the YPP Ballot Revolution. The youth lamented the "use and dump" style of some politicians in Kwara State, saying it is time to work for our generation. Receiving the decampees during the flag off of the party's membership registration in Edu and Pategi Local Governments, the State Chairman of YPP Mr. Charles Olufemi Folayan said that YPP is the home for any young person who is serious about involvement in politics and governance with a view to moving Kwara State and Nigeria forward. He said that 'youth inclusion' in politics and governance is just a buzzword for most political parties and would remain so for years to come. He said, only the Young Progressives Party (YPP) guarantees full involvement of well meaning youth in politics and governance. He lamented the level of insecurity, poverty and unemployment among the youth and said that nothing would change if the youth failed to rally around the YPP now, and take control of their own future. "It is no longer news that Nigeria is now the poverty capital of the world, where unemployment rate has jumped from 27.1% in the second quarter of 2020 to 33.5% in the fourth quarter. Yet, some people still want us to continue to praise this government like sychophants" "Sadly the majority of victims of kidnapping and banditry are students and youth. School campuses, farms and even homes are no longer safe. Food scarcity is becoming alarming, as evidenced by skyrocketing food prices. We cannot fold our arms and allow our fathers, mothers, wives and children to starve to death. We must enthrone credible leaders to salvage the situation through the 2023 Ballot Revolution" "Majority of Kwarans who were deceived to support Abdulraman Abdulrazaq and the APC in 2019 have since discovered that APC is a party where the state governor has become the sole administrator, who decides everything with little regard for the rule of law, democracy and party membership. Recent events have shown that some courageous people in APC have taken the bold step to reject injustice, and abandon a sinking ship. I am sure others would soon follow." The chairman also urged the youth to organize and demand for local government elections from the Abdulraman Abdulrazaq led administration. He said, only a functional and autonomous local government system can gurantee true democracy, youth inclusion and grassroots development.

KWARA LOCAL COUNCIL TIC IS ILLEGAL -IPAC The umbrella body of all Nigeria’s registered political parties, Inter-Party Advisory Council of Nigeria, IPAC, has rejected the composition and inauguration of Transition Implementation Committees for the 16 local government areas of the state, saying it is illegal and unconstitutional. The group made their position known in a statement jointly issued on Monday by its state Chairman of lPAC, Adebayo Akadi, and Secretary, Oyedeji Oyekunle. According to them, the lPAC, which is an umbrella body of all other registered political parties in the state, said it was not carried along in the appointment of the TlC members. The group pointed out that the TlC members in the 16 local government areas were illegally constituted by the state government. “The setting up of caretaker committee under whatever guise to replace the constitutionally elected officers for local government administration as contained in the 1999 Constitution as amended was illegal, the parties said. “We kick against any such plot because of the danger inherent in taking an extra-constitutional step of this nature under a democratic dispensation,” they added. They said the IPAC in the state would not support anything that does not conform to the constitution. lPAC, therefore, called on the state government to urgently set machinery in motion to constitute the Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission to conduct local government elections. IPAC noted that this was the only way all the political parties could be carried along in conformity with the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

DISGUSTING TO HEAR.. Young IDPs in Nigeria are sexually assaulted by officials as a condition to receive food and medical supplies. ByKunle Adebajo September 20, 2020 9 min read Young Aisha* has had more than her fair share of misfortunes. She was only six years old when the Boko Haram terror group levied war on the secular society in Nigeria. The ensuing carnage and bloodbath has taken the lives of over 30,000 people. Originally from Goniri, a town in Yobe State, she was forced to move to Bama, about 60 kilometres southeast of Maiduguri in neighbouring Borno State. In September 2014, the insurgents laid siege on Bama and seized control from the army. Many soldiers and residents fled on foot. But others like Aisha were tired of running. For six months, the town was in the hands of the terror group as an Islamic Caliphate. “Those in captivity are under serious trauma, starvation, in distress with serious degrees of injuries,” one resident reported in the early days of the occupation. Despite her age, Aisha was married to a Boko Haram fighter called Mustafa. When the city was recaptured by the army in March 2015, she initially fled with her husband, brother, and sister, and they all hid in the forest camp. She then returned with her siblings to Bama where they were locked up and interrogated before they were taken to a camp for internally displaced persons (IDPs). At the camp, they waited endlessly for food tickets but did not get any. They realised, after a few months, that there was only one way to survive: submitting to the sexual advances of camp officials. “Since we did not have money to bribe, we were told to use what we have which is as good as money,” she narrated in Kanuri. At night, a male camp official picked up young girls like Aisha who returned from the bush surrounding Bama and took them to tents occupied by soldiers and other security officials. This was usually at a roadblock in Tango. The next morning, they were given N1500 and returned to the IDP camp. “I did not hear about it; it was done to me and at least two others that I know,” she thought she had to emphasise. “There is no way to cater to yourself here without surrendering to the sexual assaults of officials.” Aisha is 17 now but was about four years younger when she first experienced these sexual assaults. Her age was a major source of her torment. The demons of sexual assaults in the camp were always attracted and therefore feasted on her like flies would feast on faeces. It happened to her while she lived among the Boko Haram terrorists and persisted in the IDP camp. She recalls sleeping with over 20 soldiers as well as camp officials. Worse still, most of the sexual assaults were without protection. In her words, she always endured the trauma of “feeling the water (semen) coming out of the men”. Frustrated, she eventually left the camp to find shelter in the town of Bama but was met with hostility. The residents labelled her and her friend “Boko Haram women,” a tag that accompanied her like a shadow everywhere she went. She was sent out of the rented house. She was forced to return to the Dalori IDP camp, located in one of the neighborhoods close to Maiduguri. There too, she could not get food tickets. Her name was not registered and she had to resort again to trading her body for basic needs. But officials threw her out of the camp because she and her friends were seen as strangers from Bama. When she left Dalori for Bama, she discovered her female friends had moved to Maiduguri. So, she joined them, moving in with Fatima,* whom she had made friends with since her first days at the Bama camp. Dangote adbanner 728x90_2 (1) In her current location she still faces strong distrust from locals, but her resilience keeps her going. She is thankful that she could afford soap to wash her clothes, opportunities to be productive and, most importantly, a sense of control over her body. A PRESS RELEASE BY 36 STATES AND FCT N-POWER REPRESENTATIVES FORUM Protocols We specially welcome you all to this National Media Conference. First and Foremost, we want to appreciate President Muhammadu Buhari's Administration for creating National Social Investment Program (N-SIP), from which N-Power is a major component. This is the largest and the fairest recruitment in the history of any government in this country as it cut across 774 Local Government Areas. The recruitment process was the best as it devoid of fatalities and racketeering we used to witness in the past, kudos to the managers of the program. The Federal Government of Nigeria designed the N-Power Program to help young Nigerians acquire and develop life-long skills to become solution providers in their communities and to reduce unemployment in the Country. 500,000 N-Power Beneficiaries ( both batch A and B ) were engaged as follow: N-Teach: To work as teachers in public schools N-Agro: To work as Agric Extension Agents N-Health: To work as Health workers N-Tax: To work as Tax Agents. We have rendered patriotic services and made great impact in our various communities during our years of engagement, but now, the Federal Government has disengaged us without a meaningful exit plan or package in this pandemic period since the month of June and July, 2020 for batch A and B respectively. Sending us back to the street where we were picked from will defeat the very purpose of addressing the problem of unemployment in Nigeria. Closing the door of employment opportunities against qualified graduates and able Youth is one sure way of luring them into social vices, criminality, idleness, low self esteem, cyber crime, kidnapping, e.t.c. The disengagement of N-Power Beneficiaries without adequate transitioning has skyrocketed the unemployment rate within the most productive age bracket. This will definitely put the crime rate on the rise, thereby increasing the level of insecurity across the country. It will also continue to affect the economy as most of the disengaged volunteers are in their productive age. It will render the program useless as its original motive would have been defeated. It will also increase the level of distrust the youth already perceived of the government. At a critical time of covid 19 pandemic, when countries of the world are to secure their citizens employment, this is when our government decided to send her youths to the streets with dangling hope. The volunteers matter became more complicated when the prices of food items keep rising on a daily basis with increase in fuel price and electricity bill. The beneficiaries are currently dejected and shattered as the timing of disengagement was a wrong one and anti-youth. It is crystal clear that majority of government institutions are short staffed, most especially the schools and security agencies. With thousands of primary and secondary schools spread across the 774 Local Government, with numerous Federal and State Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education across the country, with countless Primary Health Centers across the nation, with government clamour for Agricultural revolution and food sufficiency, no volunteer is expected to be thrown to the street if our government truly loves our country and cares for her youths. Over 14,000 N-Power Beneficiaries have not been paid their monthly stipend since the month of March to July, 2020 with the claim from Hon. Minister Hajia Sadia Umar Farouq that it was caused by GIFMIS new payment platform that flagged their account. Not resolving to pay them their stipends till date after her promise, which is totally inhuman because they have been suffering for the past 5 months without payment. We implore the Federal Government to quickly implement the transition program for the exited N-Power Volunteers latest by 1st October, 2020 to reduce the suffering already meted on us. Therefore, we enjoin volunteers across the country to rem https://www./708000889369283/permalink/1747538845415477/
