The Manchester Arena bombing was a terror attack in Manchester, United Kingdom.

On 22 May 2017 a shrapnel-laden homemade bomb was detonated as people were leaving Manchester Arena following a concert by the American singer Ariana Grande.

Twenty-three people were killed, including the attacker, and over 500 were injured.

At least 179 people have been killed and a further 300 are feared dead after a mudslide sparked by heavy rain crashed through part of Sierra Leone's capital.

Some 2,000 have been left homeless as houses were swept away in Regent, in the outskirts of Freetown, while roads turned into rampaging rivers as the mudslide struck.

The Grenfell Tower fire broke out on 14 June 2017 at the 24-storey Grenfell Tower block of public housing flats in North Kensington, Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, West London.

It caused 71 deaths, including one stillbirth, and over 70 injuries.

40 fire engines and more than 200 firefighters went to tackle the blaze.

Occupants of 23 of the 129 flats died, but 223 people escaped.

Inquests for all 70 victims have been opened and adjourned at Westminster Coroner's Court.

A hijacked lorry was driven into crowds on a popular shopping street in Stockholm.

More than five people were killed, and 14 were seriously injured.

A home-made explosive was found in the lorry after the attacker had abandoned it.

April, 2017

On 22 March 2017 a terrorist attack took place in the vicinity of the Palace of Westminster in London, seat of the British Parliament.

The attacker, 52-year-old Briton Khalid Masood, drove a 4*4 car into pedestrians on the pavement along the south side of Westminster Bridge and Bridge Street, injuring more than 50 people, four of them fatally.

After the car was crashed into the perimeter fence of the Palace grounds, Masood abandoned it and ran into New Palace Yard where he fatally stabbed an unarmed police officer.

He was then shot by an armed police officer and died at the scene.

The amphibious aircraft has military applications but will be used for firefighting and marine rescue, with at least 17 orders placed so far with state-owned manufacturer Aviation Industry Corp of China, state media reported.


'Its 4,500-km operational range and ability to land andtake off from water makes it well-suited for deployment over China's artificial islands.



The AG600 can carry 50 during maritime search-and-rescue missions, and can scoop up 12 metric tons of water within 20 seconds for fire fighting trips.

China's home-grown AG600, the world's largest amphibious aircraft in production, took to the skies its maiden flight.

The plane, codenamed 'Kunlong' according to state news agency Xinhua, took off from the southern city of Zhuhai and landed after roughly an hour-long flight.

With a wingspan of 38.8 metres (127 feet) and powered by four turboprop engines, the aircraft is capable of carrying 50 people and can stay airborne for 12 hours.

The richest billionaires in the world added a cool $1 trillion to their collective wealth in 2017 with Amazon's Jeff Bezos raking in the most.
