Before you book your next holiday, you might like to examine how dangerous your destination is. A new interactive ‘Travel Risk Map’ for 2018 reveals which countries are the riskiest in terms of road safety, security and medical matters. Finland, Norway and Iceland have the lowest rankings for all three categories, while most of Africa is deemed very dangerous for road safety and security. This map, by International SOS and Control Risks, shows the places with the highest and lowest security risk. Low risk countries are marked in green, medium in yellow, high in orange, very high in red and those that have a 'rapidly developing variable risk', such as Brazil and Russia, are marked in light brown. It also found that 58 per cent of business travellers changed their travel plans due to security threats. https://www.boredpanda.com/worlds-dangerous-countries-travelriskmap-2018/?_e_pi_=7%2CPAGE_ID10%2C3225292365 Lalasticlala, Mynd44

A mother who posed with 20,000 bees in a unique maternity photo shoot has suffered a still birth. Emily Mueller, 33, revealed that her baby died in the womb over the weekend. In a heartbreaking post on her Facebook page, Mueller details everything from when she first suspected there was a problem when she stopped feeling the baby kicking, to the the moment she gave birth surrounded by caring nurses and doctors. 'So many people awaited the arrival of our sweet famous baby who was the star of our wonderful bee maternity photo shoot. Jesus decided he needed his own beekeeper and took our precious son, Emersyn Jacob, back up to Heaven with him,' Mueller wrote. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5090025/Mom-posed-20-000-BEES-belly-suffers-stillbirth.html

Bidding representatives react after Leonardo da Vinci's 'Salvator Mundi' sold for $400 million at Christie's
|
Leonardo da Vinci's long lost portrait of Christ 'Salvator Mundi' has sold for a record smashing $450.3 million on Wednesday at Christie's in New York more than double the old mark for any work of art at auction. The painting, which once sold for just $60 at auction, fetched more than four times over the Christie's pre-sale estimate of about $100 million. 'Salvator Mundi', Italian for 'Savior of the World' was purchased by an unidentified buyer bidding via telephone after a protracted bidding war that stretched to nearly 20 minutes at the New York auction house. Salvator Mundi, an ethereal portrait of Jesus Christ by Leonardo da Vinci which dates to about 1500, has gone under the auctioneers hammer. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5087481/Da-Vinci-portrait-Christ-sells-record-450-3-mln-New-York.html

Same-sex marriage supporters have gathered across Australia for the landmark announcement of the same-sex marriage postal survey results. The Australian Bureau of Statistics announced the findings of the voluntary vote at a special hearing in Federal Parliament on Wednesday morning, with a majority of 61.6 per cent in favour of legalising gay marriage. Thousands of 'Yes' advocates have erupted in celebration at the designated areas throughout the country, including the State Library of Victoria in Melbourne and Prince Alfred Park inSydney. Emotional embraces, tears of joy and an overwhelming message of equality has washed over the nation after months of debate, abuse and pain. The 'Yes' campaign received 7,817,247 votes compared to 4,873,987 'No' votes, a significant victory for the campaign. The returned ballots amounted for 79.5 per cent of the population, a strong response from the public to the controversial $122 million postal vote. The onus will now be on politicians to pass a bill in parliament to legalise same-sex marriage, allowing Australia to join a host of other countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Sweden and Canada who have already changed their marriage laws. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5083209/Marriage-equality-supporters-gather-sex-results.html Lalasticlala, Mynd44
