Las Vegas is bubbling with excitement ahead of Floyd Mayweather's cross-over fight against Conor McGregor. T-Mobile Arena will play host and the stage is being set for combat sport's two biggest stars to go toe-to-toe. The 20,000 capacity venue was a hive of activity as workers set about constructing a platform worthy of holding what is expected to be the most lucrative bout in history. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/boxing/article-4822526/Floyd-Mayweather-v-Conor-McGregor-T-Mobile-Arena-ready.html Lalasticlala, Mynd44

The Roosevelt during and after renovation. Roosevelt Room acts as a temporary tool, supply and materials storage space during rennovation work on August 11. One of the major changes in here was swapping the beige, flat-colored Obama-era carpet for one with a more detailed design. The flags on display in the room have not changed, however; neither has the sofa that can be seen on the far-left-hand side. A detail of the table from the Roosevelt room, showing flip-up sections through which power cables can be passed. The White House has also had an IT upgrade, along with the HVAC replacement. This charming picture of Roosevelt has also remained - appropriately - in the Roosevelt Room

An eagle chandelier is seen outside the Oval Office on Wednesday. The fixtures in the building have largely remained the same, but wallpaper has been changed and new coats of paint laid down. The Roosevelt Room (pictured) has also undergone renovation although the pictures, including the portrait of Roosevelt on the right and the landscape picture have remained.

New wallpaper is seen covering the walls of the Oval Office one of the aesthetic changes to the largely practical changes that have been made.

The Resolute Desk is seen ready to welcome back Donald Trump on Tuesday. Because it had been running constantly for 27 years, the HVAC system's age was estimated to be more like 81 years of conventional use.

Back in action: The Oval Office was open for business once more. All ofthe furniture had been removed for the renovation, which had involved in part replacing the building's ailing HVAC system. The presidential seal can be seen here on the ceiling of the Oval Office on Tuesday. Although the building's HVAC system installed just 27 years ago, it had been in use 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year since then

Renovated: The White house was looking as shiny and new as it ever did on Tuesday as a two-week renovation on the exterior and interoir ofthe building wrapped up.

From here; https://www.nairaland.com/3983170/photos-shows-ongoing-upgrade-renovation New photographs reveal shiny new Oval Office after $3.4m renovations are completed on White House. Donald Trump reportedly called the White House 'a real dump' this summer, that's a claim he later denied, but either way he'd be hard pressed to make such a remark now that a two-week-long renovation has wrapped up. As seen in these photos, the exterior of the building, along with the Oval Office, Roosevelt Room and other areas of the West Wing have been given an overhaul. But the real work went on beneath the building's floors and in its walls, asthe ailing HVAC system was replaced, the heating system upgraded and IT infrastructure given a boost. Despite the considerable work performed on the building, however, it's now a shining white as ever and ready for the president to get back behind the Resolute Desk. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4814996/New-photos-reveal-completed-White-House-renovations.html http://www.businessinsider.com/photos-white-house-oval-office-renovated-trump-2017-8 Lalasticlala, Mynd44

If you think you’ve already seen the cutest marriage proposal of the year, we raise you this heartwarming tale of a Swedish former Olympic diver who recently said ‘yes’ to his German boyfriend after being surprised with the ring on a gondola ride in Venice. Here come the tears. Body builder Patrick Huber wouldn’t even tell his Olympian counterpart, Jimmy Sjödin, where they were going when they left their Munich home by car in July. They eventually reached Venice, Italy, a place Jimmy had always wanted to visit, where Patrick had arranged for a travel photographer from Flytographer to take secret snaps of their sweet adventure. When the pair set off on a romantic gondola ride on the Venetian Lagoon, Patrick knew the time was right, and popped the question. http://www.boredpanda.com/olympic-diver-gay-proposal-venice/

Future of policing, Minnesota firm creates pistol-mounted mini cam that records sound and video the moment an officer's weapon is pulled. It came just weeks after the fatal shooting of a civilian. A new mini-camera attached to the barrel of a gun could soon provide important evidence in police-related shootings. The new technology has been designed by Viridan Weapon Technologies and a number of police departments have been offered the chance to trial it. The three inch camera points in the same direction as the weapon. Brian Hedeen, president of the manufacturing company, said, 'As we’ve seen, there have been a lot of high-profile incidents over the last few years where it’s not really clear what happened, and this is meant to provide that missing piece of evidence.' A civilian, Justine Ruszczyk Damond was shot dead by police on July 15 He revealed that he hoped they would be available for police departments to use by October. West Hennepin public safety director Gary Kroells said the device could have helped shed light on the shooting of Justine Ruszczyk Damond. She died on July 15 after police were called to her Minneapolis home reporting a possible sex assault. Neither of the officers involved in the shooting had body cameras operating at the time the fatal shots were fired. He told KSTP: 'It allows for human error or mistakes to not occur, we're all human and in this particular case anytime you pull your weapon out it could be a deadly force situation so we'd like to have that on video.' Each camera would cost around $500 to produce. The company has dubbed the cameras, which have a built-in light, FACT DUTY. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4809892/Minnesota-firm-creates-pistol-mounted-mini-cam.html lalasticlala, Mynd44

A Land Rover which has been fitted with tank tracks is expected to fetch £50,000 at auction next month. The rare vehicle was given a Cuthbertson conversion (swapping its regular tyres to tank tracks) shortly after it was built in 1958. Each track is 12-inches wide and has 40 steel shoes which drive four wheels on skinny tyres. At the end of each axle, there is a sprocket fitted which drives the tracks. The model, which has a 2,286cc petrol engine, is entirely road legal and sits at more than eight-feet high, enabling it to wade through rivers and travel through swampy marshes easily. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4818990/Rare-1958-Land-Rover-Cuthbertson-conversion-auctioned.html Lalasticlala, Mynd44
