Scientists have suggested this deep-dwelling species, which normally lives up to 3000 feet deep might be pushed onto the continental shelf by strong currents.

Giant oarfish described as 'messengers of the sea' have been washing ashore in the Philippines in recent days, triggering fears an earthquake is about to hit.

A number of bizarre-looking creatures, which usually live at depths of 3,000ft, have been found dead along the country's coasts.

Many locals and some scientists believe these so-called 'sea serpents' wash up onto shore by strong currents that precede quakes.

Questions are being asked about security at Canary Wharf after two daredevils climbed 770 feet to the top of its tallest skyscraper to touch the pyramid on the roof.

Night Scape leapt over the barriers by the entrance of One Canada Square and climbed to the top without anyone noticing.

They touched the tip of the pyramid, admired the stunning views of London at night, and then scurried back down to the exit.

About 20 staffs were there at the moment of the crash.

Spotlight store has done a head count and all 20 staff have reportedly been accounted for.

Tullamarine Freeway was closed to traffic while investigators collected debris as evidence from the lanes.

Melbourne couple Max (pictured), 63, and Cilla Quartermain own Corporate and Leisure Aviation and the charter plane.

It is not known if Mr Quartermain was flying the plane at the time.
