Mortal Kombat was created by only four people in just 10 months. In 1991, Midway Games wrangled programmer Ed Boon, then 27, and comic book artist John Tobias, then 22, to conceive and create a fighting arcade game that would be ready for release in 10 months. 25. Oldest Footwear (9,300 years). The oldest pair of kicks in the world were discovered in the Fort Rock Basin in Oregon, in 1938 and both shoes were still together. Fort Rock Sandals are made of twined sagebrush bark, with a flat sole and a toe wrap. Several specimens have been found, with the oldest believed to be somewhere between 9,300 and 10,000 years old. Researchers believed thongs on the sandal would have been wrapped around the ankle and then fastened to the other side. Meanwhile, the world’soldest leather shoe was discovered in the Areni-1 cave in southeastern Armenia in 2010. Estimated to be about 5,500 years old, the shoe is a brown leather lace-up for a small right foot (about a US size 7), suggesting it was worn by a woman. http://www.toptenz.net/10-oldest-pieces-clothing-accessories-world.php

24. Oldest jewelry (130,000 years). In 2015, scientists announced they’d found the world’s oldest form of bling eight eagle talons discovered in a Neanderthal site in Croatia. The eagle talons, from at least three separate birds, bore multiple cut marks, notches for stringing, and evidence of polishing, leading researchers to believe they had been worn as part of a necklace or bracelet. The discovery strengthens the claim that Neanderthals weren't slow-witted cavemen, but part of a complex, intelligent society that included religion and art.

Everyone knows that the Wright Brothers undertook the world’s first successful motorized airplane flight at Kitty Hawk, NC in 1903. What most people do not know is that five years later in 1908, Orville Wright was piloting a plane that crashed causing the first airplane fatality. What even fewer people know is that the first fatality could easily have been President Theodore Roosevelt. 16. World's first computer. In 1946 the first computer was announced. It was called ENIAC, which stood for Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer. ENIAC took up a large room and required several people to operate. She operated with vacuum tubes and could output 5,000 addition problems in one second. The computer used 170,000 watts of power, weighed 28 tons, had 17,840 vacuum tubes, filled a large building and cost $487,000. (By today's standards, that is about ten million dollars) It took several people to run her. It was basically a larger super fast calculator with some input features via punch cards. You think you have computer problems today? With 17,480 tubes, ENIAC required constant maintain as there was always a tube going out. On average, one would go out about about every other day. It took about fifteen minutes to locate the bad tube. It's longest continuous period of operation without a failure was 116 hours. Aside from the 17,480 vacuum tubes, ENIAC had 7,200 crystal diodes, 1,500 relays, 70,000 resistors, 10,000 capacitors and around 5 million hand-soldered joints. The typical computer you use today is of course tens of thousands of times faster. http://www.pimall.com/nais/pivintage/enic.html

14. intimacy gadget (28,000 Years Old). In 2005, German scientists discovered one of the world's oldest sculpted phalluses 20cm of polished siltstone lovingly created around 28,000 years ago. The stone member was discovered in Hohle Fels Cave near Ulm, Swabia, by a Tübingen University team. It bears the scars of having been used to knap flints and was reassembled from 14 fragments. (Knapping flints involves banging two rocks together to shape stone in order to manufacture tools.) Despite this abuse, and in a delicious leap of imagination, it's been speculated that the life-size phallus may have been used as a prehistoric intimacy gadget. As Professor Nicholas Conard, from the university's department of Early Prehistory and Quaternary Ecology, suggestively notes: "It's highly polished." http://www.oddee.com/item_99301.aspx

13. Cannabis Stash (2700 Years Old). The world's oldest weed stash was found in a 2,700-year-old grave in the Gobi Desert in 2008. Nearly two pounds of the still-green plant material was found. A barrage of tests proved the marijuana possessed potent psychoactive properties and casts doubt on the theory that the ancients only grew the plant for hemp in order to make clothing, rope and other objects. Yes, they used it for getting high too. The stash was found lightly pounded in a wooden bowl in a leather basket near the head of a blue-eyed Caucasian man who died when he was about 45. Researchers believe he was a shaman from the Gushi people, who spoke a now-extinct language called Tocharian that was similar to Celtic. What is still in question is how the marijuana was administered, since no pipes or other objects associated with smoking were found in the grave. It is currently believed it was ingested orally or fumigated.
